Steve Jobs talks on tape about biological dad

- In his own words, Apple CEO Steve Jobs tells biographer Walter Isaacson he "didn't like what I learned" about his biological father and asked at the time that they never meet. Hear these and many other revelations about Jobs' complex life and personality on "60 Minutes," Sunday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. ET/PT.
If you read his biography the biological dad who was a Syrian Muslim did actually want to marry Steve's biological mother (Joanne Simpson, who was a Christian) when she was pregnant and keep the baby. But Joanne Simpson's father explicitly forbade it because he was a Muslim. So there is more to this story...and likely a huge deal in 1955 if a Christian and Muslim got together.
He did not marry her for sex purposes
@@metaknight859 He didn't marry her because her parents, who were most likely one of those hardass evangelicals, didn't want their daughter to marry a Muslim and have a child with him. But she did marry him later anyway.
She was actually a catholic btw.

Any source at all on this?
Update: John Jandali passed away in March 20 2021

Steve Jobs was a great Arab-American.
Thank goodness his muslim father never raised him or Jobs would probably have been a suicide bomber or driving a taxi and nobody would have a smart phone today.
His Arab father was just as a typical Muslim.
he had to do it because the family of his wife (americans) did not like them to get married because he was syrian.. (foreigner). thats why both decided to give baby for adoption .. this is what i know.
year but later they married steve had a sister called mona
It’s not because he was syrian, syrian wasn’t so stigmatized back in the day and actually a fifth of syria’s population were christians living in peace with their muslim neighbors . It was because the father was a bigoted evangelical and Jandali was a muslim. Plain and simple.
How can you claim to know sucha thing?
Not because hes foreigner, rather bcos hes muslim and her father was hardass evangelist
that's the way my dad was/is too... he was adopted (kinda...he lived with his biological mother until he was 17 years-old; when he got hit by a car, dragged into the woods & left for dead on September 17, 1972...) he crawled outta the woods some time after that, stumbled to a gas station quite a ways down the road, the attendant there called an ambulance, he was left pretty fucked up but he lived through it...he's still alive now...63 years-old...a lot more fucked up now than he was then LOL... he told me "My Biological dad didn't want me...FUCK HIM, I DON'T NEED HIM!!"...My dad invented the carbon monoxide detector at kidde fenwal in 1984...
Ok..😳
I'm so proud that I am Syrian and people should appreciate Syria more and not think it's so bad cuz of war. Like don't get me wrong it is but there is lots of nice things and lots of people think it's not this makes me sad
Hopefully people will appreciate more........ Thank you for your time, kindness, and for reading this🌺🙏

@@burennetteferriti7967 his dad is from a city in Syria called Homs, Syrians don’t look like the typical picture that most people think of it for Arabs, mostly they have fair skin. I can understand how that feels (Steve not wanting to see his father anymore): You reach a point of realizing that there is very, very little in common between you and your father -- how far removed you have become from each other in many ways. Nothing to go back to really. And you just move on in life.
Wow... whatever is going on between father and son still they can run from the fact that his biological father is your real father. We need to love our parents no matter what!!
Nope, he just didnt like where his father was from.
@@Reza-nz2re The adoptive father was his real dad and always will be. He raised and loved him.
@@notsureiL real dad is biological father. There are where steve got the blood and GNA from. Adopted father also his dad.
If Steve's grandfather ( mom side) let Steve's father and mother get married then they will live together before.
But who knows, lives go on and this world is a test for us to go to the eternal after life.
it's actually no wonder steve felt that way
he was basically born and then adopted after that it would've been felt that his parents doesn't even want anything to do with him which is painful
it is all about racism, discrimination, and hatred. Like, many other kids in the USA, who are mostly brainwashed from growing up watching movies about Native Americans, Muslims and Arabs. So, Steve met his Swiss mother who is guilty of given him to adoption because her parents won't accept a kid of an Arab man. Grandparents with no heart getting rid of a baby because his father is not Swiss. I don't think thy would do do such a thing to a dog.
However, He refused to meet with his father who has nothing to do with the decision of giving him to adoption. I am sure, he never agreed on giving up his son.
Steve is dead now, however, he wasn't nice toward his father.
hmmm well he dont need too and there might be more to the story u dont even know
@@weirdhuh8046 It doesn't matter what the story is, parents are parents and should be treated in the best manner and with tremendous respect even if they are the worst people on earth. That is how we do it..
So basically Steve jobs didn't like what he heard about his biological father.( Words of his mom). N missed the opportunity to speak to him. This doesn't sit well with me..he was still his dad.
But it's ok to keep in touch with your mom n her racist family. What s bunch of bullshitt
He was his father, not his Dad. there is a difference.
not really
It doesnt matte if it does sit well with him or not. Your values are to be stomped
Considering how Jandali walked out on his biological mother and sister, leaving them to fend for themselves and didn't even at least keep in touch with his daughter. He doesn't sound a nice guy. Jobs said that given his impression of his character, he was afraid Jandali would try to exploit him for his money or blackmail him.

I've read about Jandali and I can assure you Steve Jobs inherited a lot of his personality from his Arab father - the intelligence, the revolutionary tendency, the business tendency, the eloquence, and also the callousness. Not much is known about his German mother but the only thing I can relate is that his German grandfather is a "tyrant" who threatened to disown his daughter for marrying an Arab Muslim. By contrast Jandali was always described as soft-spoken.
