I was 12 years old Grade 7 in metro Vancouver (born and raised here) . The whole city and the whole province was Level 1000 Hype and patriotic it was such an amazing time to be Canadian … when that goal was scored the whole city, province, country exploded with Joy . I remember Alex Billideou getting the first gold medal for us in free style skiing ❤🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
I remember my entire elementary school stopping to watch the 2002 gold metal game. In 2010 I was home with my family and when Crosby scored we could hear the entire street explode with cheers! Good concise synopsis of the Olympic tourney.
I was lucky enough to be 24 years old and living in Vancouver (born and raised) when we won. Watching it with my dad, OT, edge of our seats, and then Sidney Crosby. THE GOLDEN GOAL!!! Jumped into each others arms, screaming like mad, the entire block ran into the street and hugged each other. I went straight to the train where the whole car sang O Canada, went downtown where it seemed like the whole city was there and met up with all my friends and played drunk street hockey in the middle of Granville street, singing dancing cheering laughing, going to bars and hugging strangers until 3am. Best time of my life.
greatest moment in canadian history I will never forget when they switched to Luongo and I got to see my favourite player on my favourite team help them win gold I remember school the day after they won and literally everyone was talking about it It was so awesome And it was also the moment I became a Crosby fan for life even though I have always been a canucks fan
My dad and I were driving home from swimming at the YMCA when we got the phone call Canada went into OT. We may have sped home to watch the end and I’m so glad we did. Those olympics were such a core memory for me
Great vid! I watched the gold medal game with my entire team. Our manager co-owned a couple restaurants and brought the whole team in, to watch the gold medal game. I remember my hart stopping when Parise scored the tying goal. When Crosby scored we all went crazy hahaha
It pisses me off when Hockey Canada tries to be smarter then the fans. It happened in 06 and it just happened with the WJC this year. Hopefully they get it together for the Olympics when it actually matters

Having Luongo, Brodeur AND Fleury as your goalie roster is COMICALLY stacked. It sounds more like you asked your friend a Start/Bench/Cut question.

Swimming must’ve been very important for your family.
