I love these German history videos. It's so hard to find in-depth unbiased videos on German war history, and it's refreshing to watch your productions. There were heros and great feats done on both sides, but you normal only hear about one side.

There’s no way you can escape the shadow of the most evil German of all though. And by this, I mean Kaiser Wilhelm.

Wow, amazing content, man. I finally found a consice and well-rounded video on this matter. I hope you do the same for different aircraft, submarines, and engines in the same format. That would be greatly beneficial.

Nice Video, the main reason for the floating zeppelin hangar on the water was the posibility to turn the front into the direction of the wind.

Babcock & Wilcox in Brunswick Georgia had a multi hanger facility built in 1893 & our historical society has numerous photos of U. S. Airships & German Zepplins being built side by side from 1896-1912.

Really? Because all of the German Zeppelins up to the LZ-130 were built in Fredericshaffen (after moving operations off of Lake Constance) from 1914-1938. US NAVY Zeppelins were built in Akron Ohio and the first one USS Shenandoah was built at Lakehurst Naval Air Station NJ inside Hanger 1. Maybe Georgia had thoes hangers built for US Navy Blimps.

I think David Schwarz shall be mentioned here, who was at the same time also developing a rigid airship, and it is still unsure if Zeppelin simply bought his design to build his own.

I wonder if climate change would still be an issue today if we had all kept working on airships? We could use them to supplement shipping/delivery where ocean liners, semi trucks(lorys), & planes are used. Sure, it must be difficult to improve upon, but it can't be as difficult as landing on the moon; we as a species can accomplish great things with enough time and passionate minds.

    • @GammaFields

It seems they became obsolete once the world realized it wasnt good for combat anymore. The danger of it is merely an obstacle to overcome and shouldnt be something to stop it, the modern Zeppelin's have come such a long way but they could have been much better and put to good use if people weren't afraid.
