If goodfellas was 100% accurate noone would be able to stomach it. These guys were absolutely brutal. Imagine watching a guy getting strangled to death in real life? I submit it would be a little different than the movies. Great interview.

I lived in a relatively smallish suburb of Washington DC when the Godfather movie came out. For some reason that I can't remember now, I had a blank gun. It looked just like a .357 Magnum, had a 9" barrel on it. In twilight or darker it looked damn real going off. We left the movie theater after seeing the Godfather and saw someone sitting on a fence. Needless to say we "took a shot" at him and he fell off so quickly I had to check and make sure it was still my blank gun. We sped off to my house, switched cars and came back to the area, there were cops everywhere. To this day if I've gotten together with one or more of those guys it comes up.

2 Questions for Sal. Do you think the characters are realistic of other guys in the life, eg you said Pesci's version of Tommy is was not accurate due to size etc but I wonder if Scorsese used the Wiseguy book as a structure for the movie and merged various mob guys into the movie characters.
    My questions,
    1) If not Tommy himself, were there people like Pesci's version of Tommy in your life?
    2) Although Henry's personal story is exaggerated, are the background characters and general scenes in the movie accurate to your old life?

This guy is hysterical, he knows and has been with more people than the actual made guys themselves, yet we've never heard any of the real-deal guys ever even mention this guy. If you listen to this guy, one person wouldn't have enough time if they lived 3 lifetimes, he was with everybody "all the time", how thats possible is beyond me. Hes another one of those guys who popped up and talks about everybody whos dead now, another funny thing is that he uses terms and words that are more Hollywood than anything.
I'm a 53-year old Italian street guy who was born, raised and still live and work in NYC, I've NEVER heard anyone call their stolen shit "swag", thats total Hollywood nonsense!!! I've never heard anyone use the word "heist" either, this is how i know people are bullshitting because theres things that were never said or talked about out loud, even Sammy the bull says a lot of bullshit because of things he says are things that would NEVER be said and words that would NEVER be used, they got so much of their shit from Hollywood.

I can't stand this guy. I've been thinking how he's always there with his stories with all the famous guys, but they never mentioned him. None of them ever mentioned him in their accounts.
Because of Goodfellas the Vario crew are famous but we never ever heard about Sal. But here he is! Because of his killing a boss and his battles with the FBI Gotti was famous. We never heard anything about Sal. But there's a video about him and Gotti! Roy Demeo is famous as a mass murdering psycho out of the Gemini Lounge. I've never seen any documentary on that subject that mentioned Sal. But there's a video on him and his partnership with Demeo! lol. Of course there is. I figured this guy out for a complete story telling bullshitter long ago. What an asshole.

I don't remember where I first heard it was Agro, with John G present, or who said it, I would imagine it was from either someone with a button or an associate, it was when Goodfellas first came out, but I know I heard Tommy Dade on a couple of occasions say he was 1000% percent sure it was Agro that killed both brothers, he did not tell me personally, although I have met him before, but he's pretty authoritative on things of that nature, I highly doubt I'll ever run into him again, but if I do, I will inquire, until then that's the story I'm going with, unless you have some info that would make me reconside.
