    Thank you for the only video on the Internet explaining that the little plastic retaining tab is a permanent fixture. I swear I was about to break mine.

    Used this cheap and easy fix on my 2007 A6 today. Took me about 5 minutes to do and shrink wrap cost me less than £1 ! Doubled up the shrink wrap over the join for extra strength and job done ! Great video and excellent instructions. 10/10 !

    Glad I found this fix, I had my BMW 335's fuel cap tether snap and was about to spend ~20-30 usd on it, have a ton of shrink wrap, had this fixed with heavy durable shrink wrap in 10 minutes, great hack!

    hi good video but my smart is not a straight piece its a zigzag shape how do you do that??

    • @dodeedo
      @dodeedo  2 года назад

      Not sure. You could try some of the flattened heat shrink. Best case it will perform better as the zig zags will hold it better. Worst case it will just pull off. Guess you have little to lose by giving it a go

    Our little retaining tab is missing on the car so nothing to slide the loop over.

    how to get the plastic you used?

    • @ak-iy4yb
      @ak-iy4yb 4 года назад +1

      It's called heat shrink. And you don't have to use the gigantic device he used. Hair dryer would suffice.

    Just buy a new strap. Cheaper than the amount of gas you've wasted on heating.
