- Опубликовано: 9 мар 2021
- What's up, Little Honda Bros? In this episode, get ready for a little lesson on engine mounts!
While changing the oil on the Civic, I also talk through some ideas of what will replace it after the giveaway and reminisce about changing the oil on my old Chevy Beretta.

Stay tuned for more crazy!
I'm glad you are taking care of my civic.
Hey Matt! I’m a little Honda bro, you should be able to use the two bolt post mount from the b16 engine on the b18c engine and then just use the stock em1 bracket and mount set up. You’d have to take the timing cover over and it’s held to the block by three bolts.
Pumped to see an OG spec E36 man!
This!!!
Hey I’m new to the channel and I wanted to say that you’re an absolute life saver, my friend just swapped the D series out of his 98’ Civic to a B16A2 so this really made it easy for me to learn how to do an oil change in this car!!🎉
The civic is a beauty, thanks for sharing this small details, just a simple oil change.thanks man.
Hi Matt loving the videos, looking forward to watching your garage build.
Sitting here watching Matty change oil on a Civic, when I’ve done the exact same procedure probably 100 times in the last 20 years on my Integra. Always laying on my back tho which sucks. I guess the GSR oil capacity is different. I always use 4 quarts exactly, and I never bother with putting oil in the filter.
Thanks for topping her off for me :)
Still waiting on a N55 OG M2 build!
good choice on the b18c. especially seeing the ground clearance on the oil pan makes it a nice worry free daily. glad you went back to a more stock engine mount to enjoy the driving experience.
Hey Matt, A while back my MR2,my truck and my lawnmower all use the exact same oil filter ph4967 unfortunately totaled the mr2 sold the truck still have the lawn mower 19 years old and still going👍
is it really necessary to change the oil after break in, i have heard from several mechanics that modern day engines dont need a change that fast and that its even better for the engine to leave the oil till the first service cause youre oil filter will still pick up the metal and the engine materiales are a lot better then they were before
Have you looked at dry ice blasting for your next project whatever that might be. I have seen some amazing results out there. BTW, car is looking amazing as always.
The ad with Bryce is hilarious!!
Will that Koch Chemie Top Star in the background be available in the store soon?
Those calipers on the bench!
Hey Matt! Hope everything’s well, huge fan. Lately been on the fence if I should buy a steam cleaner for my car, any suggestions or preference? I don’t believe you’ve reviewed one from my knowledge, thanks!
Dupray Tosca. Definitely get one. I waited forever and use that darn thing all the time now.
Fingers still crossed, with my little one I'd have to rope it off in the garage. Great build still.
Severely out of breath this video lol - still love the content, though!
that's what happens when you have a mic on your neck
I can’t wait to see Matt go down the path of which shop glove is the best.........so many options.
GOD I LOVE EVERY ANGLE AND INCH OF THIS CAR. PLEASE GOD SEND HER MY WAY!
Fun fact: The Prelude H22 also uses the larger S2000 filter. For a second you thought the Spoon drain plug got lost in the spreadsheets, huh. Love going back to the basics with Honda!
Would really enjoy a father son Honda build in the coming years so Ry can experience and appreciate the car progression process
strongly suggest you checking out a company called fumoto. They make oil drain plug bolts but with a release gate to help you drain oil. So you basically never need to take on and off another oil drain plug. Really cool product I will even send you one out name the car you want it for.
What do we have to do to enter the sweepstake?
Not sure if I missed it in earlier videos - why is the coating being removed in favour of a wax?
The paint got a bit ruined after being shipped all over for different modifications.
Never used a crush washer in my life
Back in the day I used to buy OE Honda filters and they would include an actual hollow cross section copper washer that would crush and flatten when tightened. Now they always just use a flat aluminum washer. 5 bucks will get you 20+ washers, so I just buy a bunch at a time and have them in a small drawer ready to go.
Why not go with the 2 bolt mount on the engine block and use the oem mount again
Can’t wait till that Civic Si is parked in my driveway!!! Trying to will it into existence!!
Congratulations great job 👏
Matt,
Tons of e46 sellers use e46fanatics private listings page before they put their cars on the public market in hopes to sell to an enthusiast. I'd keep an eye out there as well :)
Wu getting my em1 right!
What's up, honda bro
What happened to your Tesla videos? Window tint? New wheels?
What lift are you using?
Sprinter
can you not buy a 5 litre bottle in the states ??
Keep it the yarn building and start obsessed yarn lol
Funnel game strong 😂
Hey Matt Just do an E 46 M3 built
Leave that Spoon logo on there for me. I'll take it off here at home 👍🏽
Get a nitro RC car from mugen seiki
I am not kidding
It is awesome!!!!!!
Glad this got a more traditional swap vs a H or a K. I love K swaps but something bout a type R. “It ain’t a tight car if it ain’t a type R”
If it ain’t a Type R then it ain’t a tight caR. -HondaTech ITR forums ca 2001 😂
@@Patrick94GSR lol that’s it! hater tech!
❤️
Definitely do the e46 M3 build. That’s always been a dream car for me. That car turns my head every time!!
Is it too late to enter to win
www.obsessedgarage.com/pages/obsessed-garage-em1-civic-si-giveaway
dude i hope i win this car it’ll be life changing for me
Hardrace motor mounts
This is the first modded Civic I’ve ever seen with legitimate registration and plates.
e46 and i'll subscribe lol
You should fill the oil filter with oil before putting it on. Help prevent dry startup
Not necessary, and if you buy the Japanese Hamp version of that blue filter (H1540-RTA-003) it has English directions on it, so you can see for yourself
I don't fill it, but I do add a bit. Much of it would spill out when screwing on.
It screws on sideways so it would make a mess if you did
Huge myth. Hook an oil pressure gauge if you have one to your motor after an oil change. You literally have 0 pressure for maybe 5 - 10 seconds after startup. Doesn't matter.
I can't wait to win this thing so I can sell it all, then turn around and spend all the proceeds at OG.
I'm not yelling at you...but that drain plug is going to leak.
Not necessarily I’ve seen people reuse crush washers and have no issues
Where’s Adam LZ 🤙🤙🤙🤙
299$ spent on civic merch today. #fingerscrossed
I watched this instead of hoovies and shmee!
Hi shmee, I'm guys😂
Loving these videos. Lol you should have ordered amsoil or used pennzoil Not big fan of mobil 1.
Nothing wrong with Mobil 1, that's just preference haha
agreed. Amsoil being a class 3 synthetic is the top tier oil. Pennzoil platinum comes second
@@ripperhigh8001 mobil1 is an OK oil at best, however it comes nowhere near amsoil, redline, or schaeffer's
In what sense is Amsoil better? I run 0w30 Mobil1 in my GSR with 375,000 miles, and my used oil analysis reports come back looking pretty great.
@@Patrick94GSR mobil1 isn't bad but amsoil is better across the board; wear additives, cold flow, high mileage consistency, etc... you can youtube projectfarm he did an in depth comparison of all oils.
The E46 is faster sure, but they sound like crap. E36 is way better sounding and with some basic bolt ons, get pretty close to E46 spec acceleration. Plus those that say the E46 interior is nicer are blind. Other than recovering the door panel covers on an E36, the rest of the interior is better than E46 quality. E46 smells like crayon when old and baked in. Headliner sags just like E36. A/B/C pillars worse than E36.
plenty of ways to make the E46 sound good
(💨INHALE) WHEN HE TALKS (💨INHALE) AND THEN (💨INHALE) KIND OF GETS (💨INHALE) ANNOYING SOUND OR (💨INHALE) IS IT JUST ME CAUSE (💨INHALE) SOUND LIKE THE MICROPHONE (💨INHALE) IS HANGING ON (💨INHALE) HIS LIP OR MOUTH (💨INHALE) ¿?¿
With all the money spent and you dont change a $1 crush washer, shame on you
