What If Turles Turned Good? In this Dragon Ball world, Turles was good and many other young Saiyans find their way outside of the influence of King Vegeta and the early days of Frieza and Dragon Ball Z or even Dragon Ball Super - if Turles was canon and found his place within the world of the Heeters and Frieza whilst other Saiyans were lost after the erasure of Planet Vegeta and get him reunited with his Tree of Might! If guru was the guardian of earth, nail was a guardian angel figure, and lord slug was the demon king. Conversely if kami and piccolo were grand elders of namek caught in a civil war between the dragon clan and the warrior clan

I love this in depth story. The way turles has been handled in this what-if has been SUPERB. Not an immediate 180° "I'm a good guy" routine. This has been a slow go, but GOSH isn't that amazing!

Masako handles pretty much every character superbly. That's the benefit of having hindsight on the series as a whole and not having to worry about the deadlines that Toei imposed on Toriyama and everyone else who has written DB. Same reason why DBZA was so much better written than the OG series. Of course, having a lot of talent helps as well.
I love when Masakox says to "stop it", as if he isn't the one to make the script for each video.

I feel like in the next Part Turles is going to wonder how Goku got as strong as he had WITHOUT eating one of the fruit of the tree of might. He realizes Goku did a Very harsh training regiment in 100 times gravity and comes to the realization there is another way to gain strength by training his body will naturally get stronger. This would be the turning point in Turles becoming good as at the same time Vegeta did the exact same thing though it took him a bit of time so the same would happen to Turles not truly turning good until they were in the Cell Saga

Vegeta was more or less an anti hero, but still had his old evil habits

Given Turles' interest in... Botany, I'm curious as to his thoughts on experiencing Senzu for the first time. It seems to me that Senzu beans and the ToM could have *some* commonality between them, and could help explain just *why* Earth was such an ideal breeding ground for the Tree in the first place (unless it was Buu's sealed ball possibly just acting as a major reservoir of energy to potentially feed on).
That is something I am surprised didn't catch Turles interest. I mean, look at his underground market for Tree of Might Fruit. Senzu Beans are probably much more reliable goods for business. i can totally see him feigning his injuries once or just pickpocketing a seed and growing it himself. I mean if Yajirobe can do it, it can't be too hard.
How long was Buu’s ball on Earth? I thought they only came to Earth because they sensed the Cell Saga levels of power.
@@shard7549 My understanding is that the ball has been on Earth for the entire time since Buu was sealed by Bibidi in the first place, millions of years ago. It just took Babidi that long to find it. Don't ask me how it got lost for that long, though.
It does bring up a question I've never seen any attempt at answering, though: why is Earth consistently such a backwater in DB? There's nothing about it that's really so inferior or terrible about it to make the rest of Universe 7 at large almost contemptuously dismissive of it constantly.
@@KentuckyKaiju Worthy of mention is that Earth has tech that's unheard of elsewhere, as well as some pretty respectable fighters.
Add to that its natural resources and the culture and cuisine that everyone who visits adores, it truly is a wonder.
Turles is one of the most underrated sayians.

I liked how you have written Turles so far. Everything he does makes perfect sense. The moment He and Vegeta founded out there were three wishes available was honestly funny. I am glad Goku gives him a bean. I hope they put aside their differences and work together as a team.
I wonder if that would bring back his hand. Or maybe it’s been too long?
I must say I’m always impressed how your fanfiction is far better than 90% of oficial what what if scenarios like the ones that are in games like the tenkaichi series or other games(where raditz turning good only implies that he takes his pod and rams it into Nappa and vegetas to try to stop them)
Love these slow burn type of what ifs, they give you some interesting turnabout when the ending result finally pays out. Keep it up Masako, these roundtable ideas are getting a lot of love.
I just had a crazy thought; What if Ginyu switches bodies with Goku, then switches bodies Turles, then switches bodies with Goku again? That would make it possible for Goku & Turles to be in each other’s bodies! I know it wouldn’t happen, due to the problem of getting both of them back into their proper bodies, but it’s a funny thought.
I gotta see how that'll look. It'll (definitely) be worth it. 🤷🏾♂️

No, no that actually could work. Because Ginyu immediately tried switching to Vegeta after Goku's body got beaten down, so if Turles is currently above Vegeta then Ginyu likely would try Turles after Goku. So Goku is stuck in Ginyu;s body, Turles is stuck in Goku's body and Vegeta is having a fight with Ginyu in Turles body.
lol imagine this with the old Funi dub episode titles, "Ginyu is Goku is Turles is Goku... Who is Ginyu??"

And while it doesn't make sense in this timeline, it does make sense in DBZA's timeline because Piccolo acts more like a father to Gohan than Goku does.
@@arutka2000 hah you really don’t have a brain piccolo through this kid through a mountain drowned him and made him live in the woods before beating him up nearly starving him and than not going to save him when freeza came and beat him down only had a couple chats with him never once even talked to him in the one year gap between namek and goku arrival threatens and argues that Gohan and goku should continue training in a room that eats away at your sanity and is totally ignorant to the fact he did this when he is talking to Goku
I think the thing about turles I like most is that he seems to display at least higher-than-average intelligence for a saiyan such as himself. (Especially for being a lower class saiyan)
This story is probably one of the most non-obvious setups. Love every single episode so far. Keep up the good work, Masako :)

I am absolutely loving this series so far! I always thought Turles had so much potential to be something great and it feels like it's being realized here and I love it! I had an interesting what if of my own though, what if Captain Ginyu managed to keep Goku's body? I think it could create some interesting scenarios and I would love to see where you would take the story. Again keep up the great work and can't wait for part 8 of this series!

what if instead of disintegrating him, vegeta had only wounded nappa and tossed him aside? Dr. gero was watching the fight, and would go to get nappa's body.

Turles seems to be in the same spot as Vegeta was in the Namek saga in this part, I wonder who's going to be shot in the chest when it's all over...
I think at this juncture Turles doesn't have any choice. Fleeing is untenable, since it exposes him to the possibility of having to fight alone. He has to stick with his newfound allies.

I feel like poor Nail was under utilized. Freiza said he had a power of 87,000, making him stronger than Zarbon and Dudoria by a LONG shot and even more than any member of the Ginyu force except for Ginyu himself, but we never got to see him do anything but get beat up by Freiza and fuse with Piccolo.
His power level was 42,000 tho

Things are starting to get really interesting, at the moment I think it's going to be a while until turtlis joins them, I'd say maybe he'd join goku and the others during the freeza fight , that's my best guess at this moment.
Hehe back to the in depth changes, am really glad ^^. Imagine its really hard sometimes to cover certain segments so many times without making it feeling extreme on either end of detailed or undetailed when its simply, close to the original.

Good episode but i'm confused about something, wasn´t Nail still with the group guardings the Dragon balls in the same location or did they move to a diffrent spot when the Giynu's arrived?
Maybe I'm wrong but I'm thinking that the Pirate Ship, Nail with the DBs and the Ginyu fight are in 3 different areas.

Hey masko I had an idea but it kind of weird it's what if cell was released during goku black Saga? Like what if cell (obviously stronger at this point) ran wild with goku black arriving as well. With time travel Shenanigans
Had a weird dream that the Tournament of Power didn't have Frieza or Buu. Hercule and yamcha are getting ready to nut up..... but then Bulma starts chewing out Beerus for not searching the whole universe himself to find warriors.
Then Beerus, in his frustration, bestows all his God ki straight into Bulma and makes her the number 10.
Vegeta is now training his super powerful wife on the battlefield as Bulma--all power and no skill-- tries to survive the tournament.
Doing extra well against tech villains and weirdos, she makes it the last round, gives up her God ki to someone (goku for symbolism or vegeta for character development) and..... she ends up being the last one standing in the tournament of power to make the wish
Dangit, I missed the first hour 12 hours ago. Oh well love your work man!
I suppose in this story Vegeta hasn't learned how to sense Ki yet?

I honestly love how this is turning out. It feels like Turles is just a Freeza sayian version or something. I really do love it. (Other than the fact I love how you voice Turles...)
You know if you do make a what if vegeta was female. I can see a lady vegeta being if more evil and well vegeta esc than cannon vegeta.
Also love how your having turles get his own character ark to becoming good. It fits his character very well to have to work towards it vs becoming a good character over night

I'm not gonna lie, honestly I feel as if the biggest turning point for Turles could potentially be in seeing the heroic resemblance of Kakarot staring down Frieza, enraged by the death of Vegeta like before. He himself understandably not garnering a rage boost like Goku would, but seeing him in a similar light to Bardock. He wouldn't be the one to receive Super Saiyan, obviously, that should stay the same. But with new respects, and a functioning ship with crew... Turles's Crew can escort Goku back to Earth, giving them a good bit of time to hash it out, train together, and reminisce about Planet Vegeta, mainly Bardock, giving Goku some form of want to see his father and Turles some closure involving hating what Goku does for Bardock's image initially. Space friends. :>
