I use a similar exercise where I isolate each hand in this case up to the count of a hundred with each hand independently and then put them together. When you isolate the hands or limb you can concentrate on accents, dynamics and stamina in a more accurate way. And I always start at a low comfortable speed of 80bpm doing sixteen note in a 4/4 time signature and increase gradually until I am unable to keep up with the bpms. Increasing the speed and rate of notes per beats is a must. Then moving to do quintuplets, 16th note triplets and 32nd note with one hand first and then again putting them together. These type of exercises do wonder for your hands or feet. Also the Power Wristbuilder sticks are the best to practice this exercises.
Hey marthyn i even saw ur vid on DTA on how to increase speed using whole leg and i wanna increase my speed using whole leg only could u please make a video on that i have been stuck at 170 for an year now
At 2:20 he actually has the metronome at 100bpm instead of 200bpm and he plays 32nd notes instead of 16th notes. This might be confusing for beginner drummers. I get that they're essentially the same thing but still.
I've tried this and I have no hands now. Thanx Obama! No, seriously, that's perfect for me because I do this very often. My problem is when I "translate" it to sticks. I lose all my stamina :(
Maybe this will help... I learned that you use different muscle groups in the forearm when using the hand flat or open palm versus making a fist or hold a stick... Your muscle memory is great, sounds like you might need to build stamina for closed hand musles groups. Cheers bro
Killer warmups. side note, lucifer is trending for now but, we all know who wins in the end. (if you don't, ya better do seem searching and find out. Do not be deceived) Good luck.
I'm not sure about this, the exercise without sticks is probably a good exercise but it's not what he's using when he picks up the sticks, that looks yo be more rebound and fingers and very little wrist so I'm not sure how the 2 are related 🤔

How long do ya have to play along the click of each tempo
Try to reach 30 seconds at the beginning and increase it after you feel comfortable. I am doing it for about 1 minute at each Tempo.
