Brutal. Absolutely brutal, clean, precise, like the artillery attack Marduk is supposed to sound like. Only gripe i have is that this might be too fast for this song, i prefer it at the original tempo. Riffs and vocals sound heavier that way. However, a worthy replacement for Fredrik Widigs, of whom i had always thought he was the best drummer Marduk ever had.

@@hectortorres8188 Jup, and that fits the new songs well, but i don't like the old stuff being played thát fast. Personal opinion, but those riffs were written at a certain speed and a lot of times don't work when played at hyperspeed. Still love the band though, since Mortuus took over the band was lifted to a whole new level.

I understand that triggers give a clear, distinct sound of bass drum when played at very high BPM, but here I can hear the fast BPM and yet I don't see the pedal itself moving at high speed. What am I missing here?
Simon is using double strokes, so at very high speeds the second stroke doesn't really make the beater swing back a lot. Plus the camera doesn't record with a high enough quality, which is to blame on the concert setting like darkness, constantly changing lights etc.

@@WszyscyGramyPL So, for example, the part from 01:11 to 01:18, I can hear the fast double bass, but the beater doesn't seem to move at high speed. Are you saying the camera's frame rate can't keep up with his speed or is it just the technique of playing?

@@ivanmaric4990 yup, the frame rate can't keep up, plus the second stroke has a very small beater swing. I watched the moment you mentioned at 0.25x speed and it's still barely noticeable (most likely due to the low frame rate tho).
