    yeah, you might be doing it wrong but it's not like you can guess it either. It's kind of hidden and you can use MIDI for the automation.
    Now ... this looks like a lot of text but once you've done this a few times it's second nature and pretty painless.
    .
    Create a MIDI track and set the output to your Audiotrack/Insert FX number.
    Go to Amplitube and the lower right corner and click on MIDI.
    Now you're in MIDI control so at the upper left there is a Control Change button and click on that.
    Now you click the Add button at the bottom of the dialog box and you get a "drop up menu" so find your wah there and select the wah parameter-
    Now you see a yellow line describing what you selected and there is a [ Learn ] button in the lower left so hit that one.
    You can now move any MIDI hardware button or fader or pedal and Amplitube will hook onto that one as the wah controller.
    A MIDI pedal is of course ideal as a Wah pedal but the modulation isn't used on this empty MIDI channel so that will also do.
    It's also saved with the preset and the whole MIDI thing in Amplitube is worth poking around with if you're into automating stuff.
    .
    You can automate pretty much anything and also set min. and max. values so pedals and faders travel span feels playable so to speak.
    Halfway through my list above you selected Control Change, right, but you can automate Program Change instead.
    If you have something like a Behringer FCB1010 foot controller or similar you can do ... a lot !!!

      Yeah. Amplitube is not receiving MIDI input from my FCB either. Every other plugin does. May have to reinstall...

      @@TalkingLeafMedia ha! strange! My FCB works with Amplitube, so it can work, if that helps. Yeah, reinstall ... oh, joy! OR try with the mod wheel as the hardware controller first?

    I don't know why Cubase doesn't allow you to just route one audio track directly to another. Pro Tools allows you to do this

    Hi. I haven’t run into this need yet but was wondering why the Group track needs to be used as an intermediary when recording the automation to an audio track...thanks!

  • @ignite137

    Have you tried it by assigning quick controls? I do this all the time when i want to use my faders on my novation impulse to control a VSTI

  • @AlmostHuman_

    I'm using this "Printing from instrument" method all the time....Essential for me.. Just wish the setup was a step less, without the need to create a group ( New Audio Track - Audio IN from Instrument channel) . . . Btw, Would the problematic midi parameter control work thru "Quick Controls" ??

    • @TalkingLeafMedia
      @TalkingLeafMedia  4 года назад

      It's not a MIDI issue, it's a automation issue. You could record a MIDI track with the fader moves and that would work.

  • @C2daF
    @C2daF 4 года назад

    Hey man. Hope all is well with you. Doesn’t the automation need to be set from R (Read) to W (write)? Cubase should then detect the automation?

    So I tried it a bit myself and had no problem using the wah in VST AmpRack, VST Bass Amp, Steibergs Wahwah, GuitarRig 5, Waves GTR or Amplitube 3. It's Amplitube 4 that is giving you the shits I found out...

    Can't you use a midi track and assign it to the wah, I'm sure this is how I do it with Bias FX 2 and C10.5

    • @TalkingLeafMedia
      @TalkingLeafMedia  4 года назад

      Yes. You have to record the MIDI to get it to automate though. I think I'm making a quick video of this tonight.

    3:20 he explains it, but damn, not clearly. It would have been easier to understand with a clean project and only one track, but ho-hum.
    Say you want to record the output of a VSTi track in real time (not export or bounce).
    1) You need to create a group track. Then create an audio track and put it inside the group.
    2) Now, on your VSTi (instrument) track, use an audio send to send the audio to the group.
    3) Select "No Bus" as the group's output, otherwise you'll hear your source (VSTi) track double.
    4) And now on your audio track (which is inside the group and is where you want to record), select the group as the input. Put that audio track into record ready and then hit record.
    It will now record the output of the VSTi track in real time to your audio track.
    Totally idiotic that you need to go through this long winded process, but that's Steinberg for you! 😊

    • @TalkingLeafMedia
      @TalkingLeafMedia  4 года назад

      Amplitube was not accepting MIDI input in addition to allowing automation. I think it's just a buggy, poorly coded application.

    • @LoveMeBack

      Talking Leaf Media Aah. I’m in the middle of renovating my house. Otherwise I could try it in Logic to see if the coding is that bad. One should assume you can use a virtual wah paddle with a paddle controller.
