Cheers Shawn. Makes the welding step just that little bit easier

Loved the video and the accent! I am doing the same to a 1974 260Z, complete frame rails front to back, inner and outer rockers and floor pans and 1 quarter panel. I thought your trick of welding bar to floor pan to use as leverage to get panels to come together was ingenious, never seen that before. Keep up the great work, and if you need Z car metal parts go to KF in Miami, Klassic Fab parts are made in Columbia SA and are really good, check them out, Thanks again, Ed.

Hey Edward. Cheers for the support and contacts. I just bought from KF and I have a part arriving tomorrow. Can't wait. I'll get a video pulled together for that one. Sounds like you have a nice job ahead of you. Are you taking it on personally?

@@sparkiesshed3818 Yup, you will enjoy the parts from KF but beware they don't fit like a glove, some didn't line up within an inch! I am doing all the work myself, keep up the great work and keep posting my friend.

Cracking job. What kind of condition is the engine rails in? Just about to replace mine on a 1973 240Z. All the best with the project.

Hey T-ray. Thanks a million. I got the bore scope up on both sides of the engine rails and there was surface corrosion. In part 3 I cut up that far and treated it. I will be spraying the insides with a nozzle fed rust inhibitor, paint and then wax.

@@sparkiesshed3818 Sounds like you dodged that one. The Z's seem to have very common rust areas, but trouble areas do vary from car to car. Looking forward to how you proceed. All the very best with your project.

Thanks for the info! I have a 280zx with turbo plans and it’s got rust. Not good if you want to run more power. My frame rails are also rusted but they also look live they’ve been used up by a lift quite a bit. Do I have to worry a lot about this and knock it out while I’m doing rust repair or should I just leave it for another time while I’m building the rest of the car (which will take a while)?

I have rebuild a 280zx way worse than the Z here. Usually when you start digging you find more rust. When you are working on the floors just whip the rails off and replace them. I noticed the dints in mine were causing the rails to deform when they were being cut off.
