Datsun Z. Replacing the Dog Leg, Rocker Panel End and Hand Crafting inner plates. 240Z 260Z 280Z

- To all the Z Heads out there.
Here is the replacement of the RHS Dog Leg, Rocker Panel End Section and some hand crafting interior plates on my 280Z . The process will be similar to the 240Z and 260Z. The outer was purchased from KF Vintage and the inner was hand fabricated from 1mm steel.
This was my first time to give it a shot. Enjoy!

This video is the best repair video on repairing the Dog Leg on Your Z cars. You actually explain how u plan to repair the inner rocker out and making pieces and blending some aftermarket pieces to complete the job from the inside metal to the final outer Dog

I couldn't agree more. This car came from Florida so no salty roads. 😁. The next episode shows some interesting approaches Datsun took to the construction of the wing. You would wondered how they lasted at all!

Great job. I'll be interested to see your next episode as the bottom part of the wing is an area that I need to tackle on my 240Z. 25yrs after I restored it those areas are starting to let go.

nice work, howe long did it take overall from start to finish to repair the dog leg?
Not too long to be honest. 4 maybe 5 hours if you take out the rust inhibitor drying time

The music has been the biggest pain in the arse to be honest. Not unless I want to spend mula that I really want to spend on my machine. Cheers for the comment though
