    I have to admire your sense of humor about shoveling snow. Michigan, but we spend our winters in Key West. Probably pulling up stakes & moving to Boca chica Panama. Love to fish.

    When I watch these movies, there are always several questions in my head; How is it with the health care system? how is it with the family that is far away? Does anyone miss the Children? What is it like buying a house in a country other than ours? And if after a few years we want to go back to our country of origin, how is the situation of the house if you can't get a suitable one ????

      Well, Round trip flights from Atlantic City New Jersey to Panama City Panama are at $350 via Spirit Airlines. So I can only imagine they'd be an whole lot cheaper, say, if you leave from Florida. The RT flight from Florida is $200 and less that 3 hours. That's a lot faster and cheaper than between a whole lot of places in the U.S.; which also means that if you miss family, you're only an inexpensive hop, skip & a jump away from them too. The healthcare is world-class. When you first get there and don't yet have residency, the cost of healthcare is about the same as if you were to have an HMO in the U.S., but once you're a resident or a citizen then Panama actually has the equivalent of Medicare For All! And taxes are much lower (go figure!) because in the U.S. the constant question from doubters is: "How ya gonna pay for it?" lol But you also have the option to go to private hospitals and doctors. Tho most are pleased with the public health system for most things. Another things that some ppl do is get supplemental health insurance for items of your interest. Plus, as would be expected, in a Medicare For All equivalent, that definitely does not cover elective or cosmetic surgery or procedures, such as nose jobs, breast augmentation or hair implants. lol You're on your own there, but even there that's much less expensive than in the U.S. and very high quality. To better Illustrate things, the Shah of Iran spent his final years in the Republic of Panama, mainly because of his access to the best doctors and healthcare. He suffered from cancer on his final years. Also, earlier this year my sister suffered a stroke and had good meals, an MRI & lab work done and stayed in the hospital for several days. She's ok now, thank God, but once she was out she was complaining to me that her bill was $570 for the whole thing. Boo freaking hoo! lol I needn't explain more. lol It's easy to get spoilt quick down there. lol Buying a house is somewhat similar to buying a house in the U.S. but make sure the agency is reputable or if i's directly form an individual to use a reputable lawyer but the relocation folks have a list of folks with good references to add to your own research and due diligence. You don't have to worry about exchange rates or fees, your dollars work just as in the U.S., plus there are ATMs all over the place. Your credit and debit cards work just fine and odds are that your bank, unless it's a small credit union or something, already has a branch in Panama. Driving is easy because it's almost like Californian traffic laws, except it's all in kilometres. lol I hope all this helps with your very good Qs. All the best to you. I find Panama to be a tad bit more advanced than Florida, for example, despite the conventional knowledge that its a "developing country". It's got all the infrastructure and amenities you need, plus perhaps more and without the racial tensions, incidences of gun massacres, terrorism, drive-by shootings or police brutality. Mostly very easy going happy go lucky ppl with a very stable political climate. Oh and u don't get hurricanes like in the Florida pan handle. lol

    Wife and I seriously considering Panama, but wife is not big on mountain/jungle areas like Boquete just because she hates bugs! Any thoughts on best areas for more beach front retirement? Also I’,m a big golfer, what’s best community for golf?
    Also, how are things progressing with COVID in panama and being able to view properties?

    • @PanamaRelocationTours
      @PanamaRelocationTours  4 года назад +1

      If you prefer a beach area with golf, you'd property like the Coronado area best. Panama borders are still closed so you can't get in to look at properties. In June they start outbound flights. We don't have a firm dates on IN bound flights yet.

      Chris, you have a choice when you relocate to Panama. You can live in a mostly "gringo" neighborhood or you can live in a mostly "Panamanian" neighborhood or you can live in a neighborhood which has a good mix of both. There's something for everyone!
