Season 7 Episode 23 "Moving On"
The team treats a seriously ill performance artist (Shohreh Aghdashloo) who deliberately induced additional symptoms in herself with the aim of turning the diagnostics department into her new masterpiece, as House must decide which of her symptoms are real, and which are self-inflicted. As the case progresses, House vows to make changes in his life, but remains rooted in old habits. After the case is over, House, finally, deals poorly with his anger over the breakup and lashes out by driving through Cuddy's dining room and escaping to a beach.

"Just let it out, you'll feel better."
1 minute later: Boy, did I just give some bad advice.
within 30 seconds...ohh boy....that was really bad advice.....
Wilson was especially good adviser for House during the whole show. =)
He didn’t specify how to lol. It’s like the Joker in The Dark Knight is holding Rachel by the window and Batman says, “Let her go.” and Joker responses with, “Very poor choice of words.” Then he throws her out the window. Meaning Batman didn’t specify HOW to let her go.
Yeah, but House already knew he was gonna do it when he forced Wilson out. That advice didn't change anything
“…very poor choice of words!”
I've always liked how despite House literally driving his car into their home, no one says a word. Not even Cuddy. Just utter shock.
bigb860
Yeah, that scene was handled quite well. At that point, everyone is in utter shock.
bigb860
yeah honestly I feel as if someone said something, anything, it would ruin the moment of the shock.
Yeah this was the last episode I believe, and I remember when i saw it, i was shocked as fuck. But after seeing it again, theres only one thing wrong with this scene. Wilson would not have gotten out of that car so easily. The first thought in his mind would be, Great, House is going to abandon me here with no way home, however many hour away (This at Cuddy's sister's house) so theres no way he'd letHouse in that car alone, and just willingly get out without AT LEAST 5 back and forths. But the fact that he didnt argue, like you guys said, made the scene all the better because there was no awkward tension, it was just, pure.
I feel like Cuddy and them could've had more fear in their eyes. I mean they could've been killed. What if Cuddy had been standing there. Can you even imagine.
Also what does this ending imply? He went to Tahiti or whatever to live out his days, but he's still the same guy so he'll solve puzzles for the locals, and fill his god complex by doing everything he can to help them as long as they give him respect and admiration. I say this because after everything he went through, he'll never try to forge meaningful relationships again, he's broken, completely, and this is proof. Now he'll just satiate his id completely.
I'd love to see this house spinoff where he's just solving medical problems for locals, and they worship him as the great healer (I know this isnt some ancient culture, but how many doctors of house' standing are there.) only thing is, I love cameron so much, because shes so hot, and we've spent so long building on these characers, i'd want them back. But, i'm sure a spinoff ehre would still be great. too bad they never made more, this show was pure genius.
Wait, I'm sorry. Maybe I am misunderstanding. Do you think this was the series finale? If so, no. This was the season 7 finale and 8 was the last.
So as far as what this season ending implied, to me, is despite being so far into the series, House is still an ass. He initially has the intentions of going in, returning the brush, and being done with it. But when he sees how happy Cuddy is (Without him, in House's eyes), he quickly develops a new agenda --- to ruin it. House making Cuddy feel miserable like he is, made him "Feel much better." And he dips out to Tahiti to avoid getting arrested.
Kugrox you clearly didn’t watch the very last season? You should it was good!

House vs House

We need to stop house on house violence.
OfTheIrishEagle as they say, the House always wins.
My money’s on House. But then again House is an underdog, and everyone loves an underdog.
TEAM HOUSE!
I think this is revenge. Not from how Cuddy 'just' had a guy over. Though because house warned against Cuddy of them dating and she pushed on. When he finally is able to realize he's actually happy and putting aside his fears, Cuddy pushes him away over the fears he initially addressed. Seeing her able to move on so quickly after destroying house, he wanted to show exactly how he felt by destroying hers.
Konoyaro I absolutely agree with you except that House was first to pursue Cuddy romantically, it's not like she came on to him and started talking him into beign together. But overall, I agree with your explanation

Been in a similar situation. My love life sucks to the point I'd closed myself up not wanting to get hurt again. Had been that way for awhile. Ran into an old flame from almost 15 years ago one day. Beautiful woman who I'd always said was out of my league. She starts chasing me, and I tell her no because I always get hurt, but she persists. Where we have history she talked about adopting my son, and maybe getting her tubes fixed so we can have a kid one day. I love how Wilson saw House smiling and being happy, but later he lied to cops about it, he said that House felt depressed and went to the darkest and most depressed hole in New Jerse, only to let House be happy for at least a while before they catch him.
Thats because he knew he wasnt happy. If Wilson really thought that,he wouldnt stay away from House for over a year afterwards,he would have approached him as if everything was fine.
Wilson thought House was depressed and he thought he was right about where he went. We see more evidence of that when we see him again and he tells House they aren’t friends anymore.

honesty with everything thats been done to him, but that was probably one of the major reasons, bend a man over and over again and be surprised when he finally snaps
@@ReapersLove69 she is literally the only one he trusts besides Wilson. Doubt that he holds resentment towards her.
I think House was so hurt that he couldn’t even use his rational mind.
After being heartbroken completely, by seeing her dating him, breaking up with him and moving on so quickly, after making him love and adore for her, the feelings he gave up long ago, House had to find the most quickest and the most destructive way to ruin her and somehow make her quit her job in the hospital because he couldn't and probably wouldn't stand her anymore, so he drove his car into her freaking house, fine it's still not rational thinking but it still fits House
That's the thing with hyper rationals, emotions aren't our friend. It's a vicious cycle that only reminds us feeling things is not as good as people make it out to be. So I may never be happy but I'll never be hurt, at best interested, at worst I'll be bored.

Wilson's line about looking for a bar that reflects House's mood. It really explains that last scene on the beach.
However negative, it was great to see House actually feel something.
Darkb4light 06 He's been an emotive character since day 1. He's not dead inside or some fuc.
Sarca Gausjz Ashur Rebaddra I don't think so. Agree to disagree.
Darkb4light 06 Alternatively, present an argument instead of a passive aggressive fart.
He does bottle up his feelings a lot, using his brand of humour and cutting insults to deflect anyone that tries to examine him and how he's really feeling. House is a very private person who doesn't want people to like him, so he says and does things to push others away. Wilson seems to be the only person who saw through it.
House is a nihilist, not a psychopath.
The fact that mere seconds ago, the whole group was sitting around the table, and House had no way of knowing whether they'd moved or not.... Seems like he didn't care if he killed them. Blind luck that he didn't.
I saw it this way too. even though in court, season 8, he told the judges he knew 100% that they moved from that room, I think he told that because the lawyer advised him what to tell.
@@hajime6908According to Adams House didn't have a lawyer. She told this in a prison episode.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. People see this as a very "House" moment and laugh it off, but it's terrifying. House let his emotions control him to the degree that he'd kill, or he never really cared about killing to begin with. I can't tell which is worse.
@@Clouddistrictsnob Idk about that.. House always does dangerous and risky stuff, but there is always a line, and his "hunches" are 95% of the time right. Just like when he is treating a patient, he knows it's risky, that "usually good things happen, sometimes bad things happen", he saw them move out of the living room, knew Rachel wasn't even in the house but with her grandmother, and while he was driving straight he saw that they weren't here.
He knew there was a chance he was wrong, but he was sure he would be right, and he was as usual, no one got hurt. But of course it doesn't excuse his behaviour.
This is directly addressed in season 8, he was well aware that they weren't in the room.

what house is feeling is nothing short of melancholic.
house's feelings are fully bittersweet, on the brighter side he has finally driven (literally) a wedge between cuddy and himself, which gives them both a chance to move on. on the downside, he really will NEVER get her back, he has to let go of the hope.
the show talks about hope and how with no hope, there is no happiness.
the beach being representative of his feelings is also bittersweet. a beach, a supposedly happy place on a sunny day, can represent a massive amount of misery with a slight weather change. the clouds make it gloomy. the hope of a happy day are suddenly gone when it rains at the beach.
So this is how we are supposed to return a brush? Noted.

they all poked and proded him to let his emotions out, and he did.... maybe they should have left him alone.
could you imagine being house, cuddy was always there encouraging him to be more open giving him real hope for the future one where he doesnt need the vicodyn all he needs are his friends then they think she might have cancer he doesnt know how to cope with the fact he might loose her so he relapses and goes back to the one thing he knows will make him feel better, then just as his hope is restored she abandones him and just as he comes to terms with that she has already moved on which from his perspective looks like he barely mattered to her at all.
house is obviously in the wrong with what he did but cuddy should have known better to get involved with someone so unstable, their relationship at least the way it started was comming from the wrong place, she seemed to pitty house rather than actualy love and respect him.
Will Forest i agree,it's cuddy fault too because she work with him for ten years before be together and know who house is and still choose him ,an addict, having a daughter who depend only of her, even house tell her after the night they sleep together, that he was a insane choice for somebody who had a child, but she don't listen him
and say i don't want you change, and they only last 6 months together.
Wrong observation in the last point. Because Cuddy actually loved House.
My issue is that Cuddy understood what she was getting into with House. She knew that everyone relapses at some point. House taking some vicodin during an incredibly stressful time - a time where his sole reason for being off the drug, the woman he has obsessed over and loved for years, could potentially die - in order to not only stabilise himself, but to stabilise himself SO THAT HE COULD BE THERE FOR HER, is by no means bad for the relapse.
sad thing is, cuddy left the show because of the actress didnt want to participate anymore, so their story is not complete in my eyes
Holy run on sentence, Batman!
cuddy kind of had this coming. No one ever helped house. everyone knew he was suffering but only wilson really ever made the effort. Cuddy just reaped the rewards of him being clean of his addiction, but as soon as she found out he took one pill when he was scared for her life and needed a way to cope, she dumped him in 2 seconds flat. Cuddy, and cameron have become the most self centered bad people in the show.
Elias Bender nobody should be there for House to babysit him. Not even Wilson. Wilson just cares too much. Doesn’t matter if he’s in pain or not, there are some boundaries. House could handle the pain in other ways than drugs. He chose drugs and should expect how Cuddy will react. He literally made a poor of himself basically blaming Cuddy for everything but i feel like she was just tired of him. He didn’t care enough to protect the relationship. Even was surprised by her reaction. Like what did he expect? Also was surprised that Cuddy found somebody new after he decided to marry a whore? Instead of trying to fight for her and show her she’s the one he wants and speak with her about what happened? He literally made her leave him. It’s his fault. That was so stupid. He became stupid, annoying, emotional and miserable after Cuddy. Hate what they made of him.
@@britneysexyy imagine developing a character lol. Couldn't be me.
Incidently, an Iguana can’t imagine it since the characters drama became more important than the whole meaning of the show.
House is an adult. They are not his baby sitters. One is his boss and the others are his work colleagues. If he can't handle his own shit then he needs to be in psychiatric care. It is unfair to dump his problems on them and call it their problems. If he needs help, he can get it easier then most. He is a doctor living in a highly developed western nation with lots of money.
All this talk of House is an adult, and should have known better and blah blah blah, absolves Cuddy et. al. of responsibility for their part in this. Cuddy knew what House was, and bailed the moment she thought she might not be able to handle it, but not before convincing House that he should take the risk that she'd bail like a flake. Which she did. House is to blame for his response, but acting like he alone is responsible is like wearing red in gang territory in Arkansas. You didn't deserve to get stabbed 42 times, but you were the one who chose to wear red in Crip territory in Arkansas.
PLLEEEASE upload the scene after the woman’s leg is crushed and House yells to Foreman “That’s the point!” One of the best scenes in the show and you haven’t uploaded it yet!
Yes, please

Buddy, I already watched that video. It doesn’t include the actual scene in the hospital where House yells at Foreman, just the amputation itself. Chill before you try to act smart.
Plus, maybe you just have a different RUclips service than I do (sarcasm), because the video you linked is the only one with a clip of that episode. There aren’t “several results”

I'll concede that the original link didn't contain it. I guess I followed through to the other videos based on the comments complaining

Edit: so’s the second video bro. Can you chill out? I wasn’t even being aggressive in my original comment so I don’t see why you feel the need to be a dick
From Cuddy’s point of view, House decided to drive his car straight through her dining room in order to return the brush she asked for after what she assumed was a heartfelt conversation where they made genuine progress.
Unfortunatly she forgot House was a drug addict, they tend to play the victim.
This would have been an excellent series finale. Season 8 was good, but the show just wasn't the same without Cuddy.
House killing everyone in Cuddy’s home including Cuddy herself with his car, and him living his life in paradise away from the United States completely would have made a perfect series finale more than Season 8 finale of House M.D.
Been there at that position. Seeing your loved one enjoying happily with another...while u r still struggling to get out of the mess they made. It hurts like hell.
Interviewer: Dr. Wilson, what's the worst advice you have ever given?
Wilson: ...
Farmers: We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
House: Hold my cane...
I can understand the feeling that House went through. He was hurted because the break up and it seems that Lisa just overcame the break up easily.
So House was a 'genius' for knowig what happens with others and how they would react but couldn't see that Cuddy was suffering too. Sure. Let's make excuses .
He wanted to hurt her because he was an assho%$. That's it.
>drives a car through your house
>casually gets out
>hands you a hairbrush
>doesn't elaborate further
>leaves

Some people are saying that this was a shark jumping moment, but i totally understand all the emotions house was going through after he saw the guy over. Very realistic scene.
I don’t think this show ever jumped the shark. I could have watched another 5 seasons at least.
This isn't jumping the shark, him keeping his job after doing this was.
@@vishaansingh1019 House was THAT good. That’s why Foreman got him release from prison to help save the lungs needed for a transplant. The writers (or whoever) came up with these stories are insanely talented!
@@hollyb6885 He still wouldn't have been allowed to keep his position after the transplant. I'm not gonna sit here and list the hundreds of times House would have been fired/arrested, and I understand it's a show, but they definitely went overboard at times.
@@vishaansingh1019 I agree that he should have been reprimanded or jailed many times. He was definitely a jerk much of the time but House was such a great character.
4:25 I CAME IN LIKE A WRECKING BALL!!!
The look on her face after he gave her the brush and just walked out. I was dead on the floor. LMAO
I’m sure someone has mentioned this in these comments already but I’ve always loved the irony of Wilson saying the bar House will be at will be a reflection of his current state of mind with the assumption that it’s a dark depressing place. It’s true it’s a reflection of his current state of mind but house really did let it all out in that action, and while it may not have been a sane thing to do, he’s at a greater peace of mind and happier than he’s been in years. So he’s on a beach in the tropics.
look again. he's on enough pills to kill you _and_ me, at that beach bar.
This is still and will only be the only medical show i like not that Grey's anatomy or er or the other 50 medical shows that come out every year those all suck this is the best one
What about Scrubs?!
Try korean called beautiful mind close to the caliber of house md
pandakatiefominz scrubs is 8 seasons of perfection

The thing with this scene is, I see so many people saying House was a lunatic/psychopath for doing this. But what they need to take into consideration is that House was battling with his own torment and pain for the entirety of the show really, and all he ever did was deflect that pain through humour, sarcasm and all his witty comments.
When he and Cuddy got together, she specifically told him that she knew what kind of person he was and that she was willing to date him in spite of that, and even said he didn't have to change at all. From that point on, House put all his trust in her just for it to broken when he had his relapse, which by the way is a very normal thing for a drug addict especially if they've been sober for more than a year. Despite this, she breaks up with him.
Fast forward to this episode, Cuddy breaks House, and gets him to open up about how he really feels. Now he's vulnerable, and when he's about to finally give her the brush to move on, he sees Cuddy with another man, despite her saying she wasn't dating anyone. Although she didn't lie, it seemed that way to House, and given the culmination of events that occurred prior, he snapped. You really can't blame him. Now I'm not saying it's justified but its understandable, no one can comment on how his character should have behaved because no one can understand the pain and misery he was living in since his muscle was removed.
Anyway, I'm not sure anyone is bothered enough to read all of this but I had to say it .
In reality, this was a psyco move. I'd never want to be near anyone again who did that to me.
Not sane but then again remember people feelings and time matter , never waste people time
Simple solution: don't move on too quickly, saves houses
That was the entire point
@@VøZesDaCabeçanthis is very victim-blaming and i don't like it even as a joke

5:01 Cuddy's last scene ever.
House: Universe always settles the score.
Cuddy: Does it?
House: No, but it should.
(season 2, episode 12)
You hurt House, well he’ll hurt yours too 😂
The thing that makes it increasingly haunting is that there’s no music, and the only thing in view is the intensity in House’s eyes! 😬
Cuddy's hand trembling when she holds her brush really shows and understands why he did all of that.
When House told Wilson to get out the second time i got goosebumps.
*House hands her the brush
Cuddy: This is my sister, her husband and their son.
*House stares blankly, then realizes how to cure his dead patient before bouncing to a tropical resort*
This would have been a brilliant ending to the show. Ruining his career, destroying the last of his relationships, and spending those last few months in a sunny and far-away place while the feds track him down. Tragic and awesome and entirely in-character (at least with the contrivances of this season).
And that's how you deliver a hairbrush with style and flair.
I guess all of us wanted to do something like this after a very painful break up. However only House was genius/crazy/man enough to do it.
Also didn't give a dock about his life, while we do, cuz we actually have one that we care about.
"Man enough" to do it. Lol. He drove a car through a house not caring whether he murdered 4 people or not. Is that how we're defining what men are these days?
Yeah, that's called murder
House: crashes into Cuddy's house
Comments: You know what? Good for him.
I'm inclined to agree.

Step three, attach legs
Step four, crash car into

Start of episode: "He'll be in a bar. It will look the way he feels on the inside. Somewhere dark, the absolute deepest pit you can find in New Jersey"
End of Episode: *House sits at a bar with music that emanates celebration. Its bright, cheerful, and all around generally just a good vibe all around.*
God I love this shows symbolism XD
Rot in hell Cuddy! LOL
"rot in hell cuddy" I CAN'T 💀
Wilson : House just let it out
House: Hold my cane...
Say what you want but for this I put almost all blame on Cuddy. I say almost all because House took a pill at his weakest moment (and we know how addicts deal with harsh situations). But Cuddy accepted House as he was, made him feel safe, wanted. Made him open up. And because of a mistake that he did, because he loved Cuddy that much, she abandoned him.
But as we saw, House dealt with that, didn't forget about her and went to meet her. What he saw that Cuddy went on as if House never existed, like he didn't matter. That situation would break ANYONE. So House broke her house
Worse than that, House told her how the relationship was going to end, before it started, and she still pushed him into it, and kept it going just long enough to convince him to accept that he might have been wrong, and it could last. Just long enough to let him hope that he could have happpiness, then ends it for the reasons he told her she would before, and move on immediately.
Absolutely! Probably why Cuddy isn't in Season 8 and ran off to be in the Good Doctor.
That is a terrifying thought process. House just nearly murdered four people and you blame Cuddy? Psychopathic incel tendencies there.
@@apishgaming5283 Well I take into account that no one got hurt. Attempted murder ofc would be too much. But other than that, terrifying or not cuddy was the one who caused it
@@dariusnoname12 Pretty sure the psychopath that drove into her house caused it...

The crash scene made me contradict my insides. I feel house, I know how shitty it is when a person that you need in your life and you love so much carelessly dumps you. She deserved that, but at the same time, it was taken far too far. It wasn't necessary to crash into her house. I mean my x bumped me two years ago, but I still work for her as a plumber and I still go to have tea with her from time to time. Not much from motivation, but because she is one of my richest employers and I need to keep connections warm. But house took it way too far, it as really not necessary to do such kind of an act.
Definitely not. But House has always been annoyingly extra
its not that simple, if it wasnt clear already house had underlying mental issues and his work in plumbing has him consulting his ex every day by being either passive aggressive or annoying but still being her "friend" that kind of unrequited love only builds up if it doesn't blow up, unluckily for cuddy and house it blew up way later because house doesnt have a short fuse, but the sparks gonna reach eventually and that bomb is only getting bigger, people saying "dont bottle things up" isnt just what you say in a situation or neutral advice its the real deal, and if you think you wouldnt snap under the weight of those explosives or in your case the pressure in my pipes you must think your also bullet proof and can walk through walls
cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck
No, she didn't deserve that.
He try to break her relationship with a man, accept to be in a relationship with her, act like a child when he found out she was sick and destroy her house just because he saw her with people in her house.
Wtf is wrong with you. He was selfish.
4:23 can you hear that Wilson screaming for injuring his hand?
Oh shit, you're right. We can see him holding it afterwards. I never noticed that.
@@SomeoneElse- me neither
When i watched the show i loved this scene, but now that i know exactly what House was feeling, as i was rewatching it feels much, much better
It’s amazing how his character makes you love him more
4:48 NO ONE holds a cup of coffee after that ..
I remember wondering if he kills himself after Wilson dies and rewatching this 14+yrs later makes it obvious conclusion! They no longer write such complex characters like House. He's so tormented and addicted more to self-destructing than Vicodin and those around him were enabling him by either their disregard or normalizing his behavior
I always thought Cuddy knew something like this might happen and she was, sometimes, encouraging it.
4:25 Wilson's scream xD
His poor wrist, ouchie.
It’s not every day you see two houses collide
2:54 no one was able to look up and see House? And House didn't think anyone would be able to see him? What is going on here.. lol
Yeah...my thoughts, too.
They were able, but they didn't, it happens
I just realized that if they wouldn't have moved House would've just killed all of them. Like they all would've just died. That'd be an interesting ending to the show, House goes to prison for 4 cases of murder.
They used CGI when Wilson threw the bottle at a glass window at House's dad's funeral, buy used practical effects for this scene. Love it.
“Just let it out, you’ll feel better”
