    Each time I’ve been to Inverness, I always come away enchanted. And this day of touring around the city was no exception!!!
    Inverness is filled with both history and natural beauty around every corner!
    In this vlog, Derek and I spend a sunny, yet cold, November day exploring Inverness on foot. We start at some of our favorite spots and historic attractions in the city center. Then, we hike down the Ness Walk and Great Glen Way to the Ness Islands!
    Hope you enjoy tagging along with us as we tour this beautiful city!
    Cheers, and happy travels!

    @MeansToTravel If you care to freeze the video at 24:46 exactly, and then look at the houses across the river, you will see (at the extreme right hand side of the screen) the window of the first floor bathroom of my grandparents' house, which was (and still is!) situated on Island Bank Road.
    As a family, my parents, my siblings and I all lived in Surrey in the south of England. My mother had been born in Forres and raised in Inverness, and so every year - and sometimes, twice a year - we drove 600 miles north to spend two or three weeks in Inverness.
    Memories of those visits to my grandparents' home remain vividly etched into my mind's eye to this very day - Inverness and their house were and remain a magical location for me.

      Re: weather: My understanding is that the weather will be fairly cold at that point, so prepare for chilly temps and blustery wind. When we were there, it felt like a damp cold, so we were grateful for warm socks, gloves, and hats to keep the extremities warm while walking around. Definitely bring an umbrella, too, in case of rain or snow.
      Re: open late: No, unfortunately most places close early except for pubs and restaurants. Dinner hour is earlier in Inverness than in larger cities like London, and I highly recommend making reservations in advance for restaurants so you can be sure to get a table.

    I would have preferred the title to read Inverness Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

      The video title says both, actually! It's just the thumbnail that says UK, so it could fit. And we added the Scottish flag for good measure, not the union jack. 😀
      For our entire UK series we've been using UK in the thumbnails so it fits, but we actually made a video a couple years ago on the channel about how Derek and I are 100% neutral about Scotland's independence movement (as we should be), since we are Americans. • @MeansToTravel
      @MeansToTravel  Год назад

      I'm actually not sure if what we said in the beginning about not filming is true, since I can't find any references to a policy like that online (I specifically looked on Leakey's websites, social media accounts, yelp, and google page). I also have checked a ton of photos and videos of Leakey's bookshop that are currently posted online - including ones from the owners - and I do not see any signage about a no filming policy, either.
      With that said, if you can please share where you see that policy so we can be more informed travelers, that would be really helpful, Sherrie. Thanks in advance!
      Also to provide more color, we used voice-over in this video as well as GoPro b-roll for that scene, because we didn't want to make noise in the shop or be bothersome in any way. Apologies if we missed an announcement about that still being an incorrect act, but based on our deep online research about it, it appears to be a non-issue.
