      Hi Elly i’m one of those people that struggle when I hear people giving instructions on RUclips saying water discount. My confusion is for example I want to use coconut milk instead of replacement of distilled water ... I would use milk not water right, the same amount that’s indicated in the Column under water, in Soapcalc? I’ve seen your video 4 times, comprehend a bit? Could you give other examples like if you are following a recipe from scratch? Thanks Odalys

    What is High Lye C means to the soap? How does it affect to the final soaps when the lye C is 30% vs 40%? More leather or less to the soap? Obviously when it's a 30% lye concentration has more water so it takes longer to cure but I am curious about leather to the soap? besides using certain kind of oils. No - this video has nothing to do with the amount of lye in a soap recipe - the amount of lye completely depends on the oils used, and the superfat amount in the soap recipe. You don't get to choose the amount of lye for your recipe - the calculator does that for you! :)

      @@mindasmind leather is a preserved animal skin, you may make boots, shoes or jackets from it. LAther is the suds and bubbles from using soap. Spelling counts! As does pronunciation. So keep it in mind that saying LAther vs. Leather is actually a HUGE difference!

      You're welcome. I've doing 33%-38% water. I'm going to try 30% to see if my bar is harder faster.

    • @EllysEverydaySoapMaking
      @EllysEverydaySoapMaking  3 года назад

      Do you mean water as percentage of oil amount? Depending on which method you're using this could make a softer or harder soap!

    • @kellyedwards5358
      @kellyedwards5358 3 года назад

      @@EllysEverydaySoapMaking Yes, that's what I mean. Water as % of Oils. I do cold processed. Everything at room temperature. Never used the Lye concentration or the Water: Lye Ratio on soap calc.
