While not on your healthy-eating list, we enjoyed walking from that RV park to the Krispy Kreme Doughnuts -- hot and fresh :) The subway that goes under the river to get to NYC also was useful.
I haven't RV'd there since I live about an hour away. 😂 FYI - there are lots of areas north and west of where you are that have nice parks that are a lot closer than the PA campground. Additionally, NJ Transit is really good in many parts of north Jersey. There are train lines that go all the way out to Hackettstown, NJ (NW Jersey) that can get you into the city easily. You can take a train from the Princeton area (Central Jersey) into the city in just an hour too (express train). And so on. Transit is almost 24/7 in the JC area. Jersey City is a high end area due to the proximity to NYC. The $170/night is actually really good for the area ($250/night is the average if you weren't already aware). Some terminology: NJ - we just say Jersey. Everyone knows what you mean in this area. Jersey City doesn't have "New" in the name, just Jersey (see prior sentence) When going to NYC from Jersey, you would say you are "going into the city" (we refer to Philadelphia as Philly) I hope you have fun!
Yup. We've been there 3 times. We call it a towing Sphincter Pucker Factor of 10. We had one tow where literally we had to get out of the tow vehicle, stand in the road, and stop traffic or we were going to miss the turn onto Marin Blvd. and go into the Holland Tunnel. We had saved some champagne for a nice toast at dinner that night. We chugged it as soon as our wheel chocks were placed...
Why would anyone EVER think there are ANY RV parks in NYC? We are soo impressed with how well yall do weaving around the tight streets, amazing job...i drove fire trucks for a few years but thats easier then towing...great job!! But I cant imagine staying in an RV in NYC, a hotel is scary let alone an RV... Its NOT safe anymore, i live in CT we used to go into NY a lot....not anymore.....Ruddy G had that place safe and fun...so sad to see how different it is.
So glad you made it to NYC. Too many folks miss out on a truly unique and wonderful place. I’ve lived in and near the city my whole life and it never gets old or boring. Peace - John

FYI, be careful of driving with your seat so close to the steering wheel. I'm short, but I try to keep my seat adjusted so that my arms are more straight to reach 10&2. The scary thing is that if the air bag goes off and you're that close, it can do severe damage to you. 😢

Great job! 👏🏼 We decided to stay on base in New Jersey and took the train into New York. It was so easy to do and saved us the stress of driving and parking. We did drive one time to Liberty Park and took the Ferry to see the Statue of Liberty 🗽 and that drive was stressful just in a truck. People would walk right out in front of you on a green light, lots of construction, and it was not the best neighborhood until you got to Liberty Park.
