Never been asked about produce on the way into Canada. Coming back into the US, we invite the border guard onboard to look through the fridge. The rules entering the US change so often, we tell them to just look, and take anything we shouldn’t have.
Definitely Aaron crossing back into the US. I agree with Chris, I know that we don’t have anything that’s not allowed but still get nervous. Could be that it’s the authority and they always suspect something.
When I traveled to Barrie, ON to work ,they gave me a letter to give customs saying that I was only there to supervise😅. Good luck trying to get back in.
As an American who has been to Canada many times I find that the Canadians are most gracious in the border crossings, and they're really pretty easy. The ones that are the most uncomfortable and sometimes the rudest are the ones coming back from Canada into America. I can't stand those Crossings and they're not so friendly.
Cannot believe we also stayed at this Narrows Too campground this past summer. Seems like a good starting point for the caravan. WE enjoyed Bar Harbor and Maine. From there we traveled to Lubec Maine before crossing into Canada.
Chris we just crossed into the states in mid-October and I was stressing the night before crossing the border to the US the same way you were stressing about crossing into Canada, checking what we could bring across for food and what we might be asked at the border lol. We also were doing diesel math conversion the way you guys were in this week’s video - though when we did the conversion from American to Canadian our amount went up unfortunately lol.
Aw! I LOVED that campground! I only went through your checkpoint coming onto the US. Super nice lady. I’ve never heard of your tour company. Googling ….
We just returned from a Fantasy rv tour out west. It was amazing! We are from Maine and are looking forward to following your trip through the Canadian Meritimes. We were away for 76 days, and we are already hoping to do another tour with Fantasy . Love following your adventures! Safe travels to you and the pups.
Were finishing our last weekend of camping here around Montreal. Not much left campgrounds open. Looking forward to following these travels around this time. Feelin the good vibes
There are some foods that are not allowed in both directions. The Customs web site for US and Canada list what you can not bring. Best to provision in Canada as groceries are mostly less in Canada
The the lobster roll from the Lobster Pound food truck in Manhattan, NY is the best thing I have ever eaten. If I was camping next to the restaurant I wouldn't eat anything else. Dang, you both are lucky!
Hey guys - Enjoyed watching the 1st episode of our adventure through Canada! Will look forward to the rest of the videos!! Miss you guys!! Phyllis says hello!!
Hey Roger! It's been fun to relive the trip so far! Feels like a lifetime ago! LOL. Hope you guys are doing well, miss ya too, and say hello to Phyllis for us!
I liked the "jerky" film sequence. Don't do it too often I'll get sick. But it was a cool change. Do you always unhook? Looked like you were at the lobster boil only 1 night. We frequently stay connected, makes departure easier. Just use landing gear to take a little weight off the truck.
Welcome to Canada, are you going to come into Ontario. Your office equipment mention would raise more questions because if you do not have a work permit you are not allowed to do any work in Canada (other then just your own personal work), you are not even allowed to volunteer to help a friend, like even put up a small fence. Hope you enjoy your time in Canada
So cute and funny how nervous Chris was. I do understand why. Crazy how much of the Canadian population lives south of the Twin Cities. Looking forward to your visit.
My last vist to Canada, was going to Niagra on the Lakes, for food and Theater! In 2007 ncoming back across the Rainbow Bridge, the Security was terrible, they kept us on the bridge for 2 hours and Homeland Security was not letting my 6 foot 2 inche body out of my car to streach on the bridge! As a result, we have never been back into Niagra on the Falls, which we loved! Terrible, we miss that are of Cannada, but at my age I do not do well setting on a bridge waiting for two hours!

Thanks appreciate that! No doubt the RAM is a nice truck and the duallies look good. It pulls strong, exhaust brake is strong, and it feels stable towing with the duallies. The interior is really nice and the seats are more comfortable on long drives than our FORD. We are struggling to get our RING cameras mounted in a good location so it provides good coverage and we can leave it. How did you mount them? TIA
Yes! That was the most lobster we've ever seen getting served up for 50 people! We heard about www.fantasyrvtours.com from the RVers TV show that we were filming this Canadian Maritime trip for. (we'll share more on that soon). But, Fantasy RV does caravan style tours all over the world and also rally style tours like the Ballon Fiesta. We might explore a group trip in this fashion........ I've been meaning to do a video on the cameras and I've shown little clips here and there. I found this one on the travel trailer at 3:45 ruclips.net/video/P0Qj4qCFkOU/видео.html I dont think I've filmed one on the 5th wheel yet. What kind of RV do you guys have? My aunt once told the border patrol at the checkpoint in Tijuana, when they asked what we had, "I have pot." We all screamed, "No, you have A pot." She bought a painted flower pot. Yes, they did make us pop the trunk and they shined their flashlights in the car. It was embarrassing.
Only one bad experience in many crossings and that was crossing from NY at Cornwall, Ontario and they search 5th wheel. Had a gun lock in drawer that we had gotten free at an RV rally, but never travel with a gun. Grilled us about weapons and asked if they brought their dog would he find any weapons. I said no! Later realized that I had construction tools including a Ramset fastening tool which uses .22 powder shells, and the dog would have alerted on those shells! Many other crossing such as in to Nova Scotia, etc. and nothing but most pleasant experiences. And don't sweat it, coming back into US I have always found much more relaxed than getting into Canada.
I don't know why everyone says that the border crossings into Canada are so bad and make a big deal of it, I live in Canada by the busiest land crossing in North America and I tow a 45' Toy hauler. Every RV or trailer gets searched at the booth EVERY time you cross into the USA when you go through the regular lanes, when I get routed to the truck lane they never search me. I know what I am and am not allowed to bring across the border, I answer the same questions every time in the same way. Don't offer up any information they don't ask for, don't act nervous as they will think you are hiding something. Border guards are there to trick you into admitting you are lying to them, they will ask you the same question 3 different ways at 3 entirely different times randomly to see if your story is the same. My rule of thumb is: No weapons, No drugs other than prescription meds with labels in bottles ( Medical mary jane doesn't count as it's illegal at a federal crossing even though the province or state is legal) , No exotic meats, No fruits or vegetables, No plants or organic matter and no unvaccinated animals ( rabies is most important), declare your alcohol and tobacco products. Open your windows, remove your sun glasses so they can see your face. They will ask you how much money you have on you , as long as it's under $10,000 you don't have to declare it, they want to make sure that you can afford to travel in the country and have enough cash for emergencies. The border wants to make sure that you aren't just going to set up at a campground and live in their country for the rest of your life ( 180 days Maximum allowed between Canada and the USA) . If you follow these rules you shouldn't have any problems crossing between the 2 countries . Minnesota accent is definitely not a Canadian accent, EH!
Tried to get across to usa three winters ago, 50/50 chance i figured without the jab. I didn't have the jab, n was denied, but what was so weird is i got then asked "so why did you say 'No' when asked if u had the jab? " I starred at him like wtf? I Said its the truth. Wish i said ok ive changed my mind to yes, can i cross now? So yeah they like to see if you're lying but y would i lie with a No, risking an entry denial 😵💫. So them asking questions doesnt have to be a logical one 😂. 🍻
@@SpykersB I am an essential worker so I had to get the shot, if you had said yet they would have wanted to see the paperwork so you still would have been denied unfortunately.
When did Canada start asking for passports? I’ve only had to show my Minnesota enhanced drivers license. Last summer I was pulled over while crossing in to Thunder Bay. I asked the Canadian border patrol if I was randomized and she said it was just my turn.
@@IreneIronTravels They told me they were going to search the car but by the time I entered their building I turned around and they were following me in and said I was cleared to go. They never went into my car. Thanks for going to Canada this year. I wasn’t able to go this year and I really would have liked to go on a tour of the maritimes
Hello and thanks! We appreacite the kind gesture! We enjoyed our time in Saint John and it was fun to see the reversing falls, city market, and Rockwood Parc! It was an all too short stay!
Chris, you cracked me up. You didn’t tell us how nervous you were about crossing the border. You volunteered SO much information…what did we tell you? Yes or No…Stop after just the basics. First person to talk loses. Haha
I like your videos but to act like an expert at crossing the Canadian border when you have done it one time. In over 40 years, I have never been asked about fruits and vegetables when entering Canada only at US customs coming home.
I just let me wife so all the talking coming back into the USA. She provides way too much information, and, in the end, they just roll their eyes and tell us to proceed. Given we have Texas plates, they always want to know where the weapons are, which we never cross over with any.
Wow thank goodness you didn’t mention the scrabble game, that could’ve turned the situation bad real quick !! 😂 I trust Chris to back across the US border just fine :)
Yes Aaron should do the US Border crossing.
Every Canada crossing I’ve found to be pleasant. Crossing back to the US on a USA passport….searched every time.

@@IreneIronTravels They told me they were going to search the car but by the time I entered their building I turned around and they were following me in and said I was cleared to go. They never went into my car. Thanks for going to Canada this year. I wasn’t able to go this year and I really would have liked to go on a tour of the maritimes
Yeah let Aaron drive back into the states ,can't wait
We are fellow Alliance owners and live in Saint John, NB. If you need any help while you're in the area, let me know.
Hello and thanks! We appreacite the kind gesture! We enjoyed our time in Saint John and it was fun to see the reversing falls, city market, and Rockwood Parc! It was an all too short stay!
@ it sounds like you saw some highlights. Safe travels.
You dont need fruit and veggies.
Chris, you cracked me up. You didn’t tell us how nervous you were about crossing the border. You volunteered SO much information…what did we tell you? Yes or No…Stop after just the basics. First person to talk loses. Haha
😂😂 Yes……sooo nervous. They are tricky at the boarder!
Never elaborate on anything they ask. A simple yes or no works great.
Yes! But….That’s why the “ what did you bring” question is soooo tough! Would be kinda weird to answer that yes or no! lol 😂
Yes 😂
That was an easy cross over into Canada. Why is the video so dark?
I think there was a glitch on the upload....sorry bout that!
Definitely more grueling returning to the US.
Nope Chris you drive back thru. Aaron looks like a nervous Nelly type lol
I raze my hand ✋. Out Aaron in the hot seat.
👍🏻
True gas price is up even grocery. Blame our prime minister.
We went into Canada this summer super easy, on the way back super serious like I was the Taliban. Lol!!!
Hilarious
Now ur late cause change of harness with ur kids and u got to be there at 2:45 ,. . . . .he he ha ha
😂😂😂yes!
That's so adorable "authority makes me sweat" why Chrissy, were you a BAD😈GIRL, when you were a Teen?".
I like your videos but to act like an expert at crossing the Canadian border when you have done it one time. In over 40 years, I have never been asked about fruits and vegetables when entering Canada only at US customs coming home.
Hope we didn't come across as acting the experts!...... just sharing our journey.
Clickbait
I just let me wife so all the talking coming back into the USA. She provides way too much information, and, in the end, they just roll their eyes and tell us to proceed. Given we have Texas plates, they always want to know where the weapons are, which we never cross over with any.
Wow Huge Mudbugs!
Ha ha! Yes, and so many of them!!
Wow thank goodness you didn’t mention the scrabble game, that could’ve turned the situation bad real quick !! 😂 I trust Chris to back across the US border just fine :)
Right!!
I vote Aaron drives back through. 😂😂
