@@HappilyEverHanks We just purchased a new Arctic Fox 5th wheel and are going to begin traveling around the northern states. We are based in Oregon now, and plan on spending time in Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and the Dakota's to start. Watching your videos has really opened my eyes to a new and exciting lifestyle. This is something that my wife has always wanted to do, but I was not really interested. I have always enjoyed going places, but never embraced the RV lifestyle. Your videos, and seeing the excitement and joy in my wife's eyes now that we have our RV, I know I'm going to love the adventure! We both hope that in our travels, we will be lucky enough to meet you in person some day!
This is so awesome to hear Ted! We are really happy for you guys 🙂Sounds like you have some wonderful adventures to look forward to!! We really want to thank you for taking the time to write out these comments. We hope that we can hear from you on other videos as well, your comments mean so much to us! We look forward to seeing you guys one day soon Ted 😃👋🏼
@Ted Teer, Oh yes, that is a great way to put it! Only this is "The Hanks" Karl & Renee on "HappilyEverHanks"... lol. Thank you Hanks! 💖💖💖 We too... after 20 years being dormant, we purchased a new-used Upright Travel Trailer. Ol-deeer and starting all over. Gearing up to camp in 2022. Love The Hanks! They came up in a search, and third video in. Here we are. 💖💖💖
As a Boondockers Welcome member please note that not all hosts have acres and acres of property. Some can only offer a safe place to park which might be a driveway in a residential neighborhood. Some can only offer a strip of grass on the side of their house and accommodate a 20 foot rv. The premise behind BW is offering travelers a safe place to park while traveling. 😊
So many churches are struggling financially and some have discovered Boondockers Welcome! What a wonderful way to use their parking lot during the week. Check each church's specifics, such as: are generators allowed at night or at all, etc. I'm all for sharing this info with churches across the country!! Put a donation box attached to the wall for donations from campers.
I liked that you cautioned everyone on credit card debt. CC’s can be great but aren’t worth it if you don’t pay your balance each month. Glad to see you guys are debt free. That is awesome!
Since I’m 59, I decided to buy the Lectric Bike. I go to Fort Wilderness in Disney World a lot (I’m only 1.5 hours away) because I love that campground. Well, I rent one of their golf carts at $65. a day every time I go. Last time it was for 5 nights so I rented it for 7 days. Yup, 7 times $65. is $455.00!!! The Lectric bike was $1,000. So three trips will pay for it then after that………woo-hoooo!! Fort Wilderness is my splurge…my reward for decades of work. As a bonus, I’ll have the Lectric Bike for every other campground I go to. Win-Win!!
Lori this is so great to hear! Love that you have been to Fort Wilderness (we haven't had the chance to go yet). We LOVE Disney, is Fort Wilderness worth the hype? 🙂 It seems like a great place Love the Lectric Bike!! Oh my goodness, that must be so much fun to ride around on 😃 Hopefully we an get some one day and come ride with you to Disney!! That would be awesome!
If you haven’t I suggest trying upside fro fuel cost. I average 75k miles a year for work and I have saved hundreds of dollars in fuel cost. Also there is cash back options for restaurants and groceries too. And it’s free!
I found out that some casinos will let you park in their overflow parking sections, some of which are very nice grassy areas with trees and more times than not they have electric but who doesn't mind boondocking for free at a casino, it was shuttle transportation available, and in my case Alice Cooper was playing at the outdoor Amphitheater not far away!!
All these tips are helping me with solutions I never imagined existed...I don't want to boondock @ Walmart forever and worry about late night passer by robbers.
You've both inspired us to make a total change in lifestyle and i cant thank you enough for the truly informative and useful information, and it all pairs so well with your personalities and anecdotes. Amazing channel, this world is fortunate to have you both in it. Might even start a channel also but having interesting things to say is a challenge in itself
We also travel full time. We use our credit card for everything, pay off the entire balance each month and enjoy the cash back of about 100 each month average to apply back to our bill or get gift cards for stores. It's a win win! Great content y'all from two golden oldies. Love your energy and fun!
Just letting you know my wife introduced some of your videos to me!! My wife are I in the trigger stages of a couple rvs we've been looking at. The Hanks are infectious and keel coming back for more! Thanks for that!! Respectful T&M
Hi Toby! Thank you for your wonderful support 😊 We are so happy to hear this! Let us know if we can be of any help with answering questions for you guys. Wishing you the best - Kyle and Renee
Thank You, Hanks, the whole point of RV life is to SLOW YOUR ROLL, and enjoy life. Check out the local scenes. Relax. Take your time. That is literally the whole point. Those who buy RV's, and go balls to the wall every day, they just do not get it. Might as well travel in a car and drive all night, enjoy that!
Thanks for all the tips! Adding to my notebook for sure. We are looking to pivot to full-time RV life, so learning a ton from you. 🙂 Oh, and fellow ED RN here! If my knee allows, hoping to travel nursing will be a part of the journey, otherwise, it'll be remote nursing (WAY less exciting).
You two are adorable! We've been RVing for 20 years, but we still learn new things all the time. LOVE your material. Keep up the good work. I just found you today and I'm thoroughly enjoying your videos! ♥️
Thank you so much Debbie!! Your support means everything to us ❤️ that’s amazing you guys have been RVing for so long, you guys must have so much experience in the RV life!! What kind of RV do you guys currently own? 😃
more like HappilyEverDorks - lol! Great info - definitely doing All Stays Pro. Best takeaway from the vid - go slow. Stop, pull up a chair and stay awhile - best advice ever. The less driving you do the less $$ you spend on gas (it's like duh... but it's important) We're still on the fence of staying on someone else property (Boondockers Welcome) but can see the benefit. I would add that food can add up. On our short trips we tend to splurge, but every day is not a luxury resort day. Best to plan and prep cheaper meals daily - and it's more healthy.
as someone who grew up in utah i can agree its better to stay outside of the moab area ...and even better if you know where to look there are free boondocker campgrounds EVERYWHERE in utah
FYI...for diesel truck owners. Good Sam and their fuel discounts are not helpful because Flying J and Love's are usually a lot more expensive than others a bit off the road. You can get the same 'discount' or more at non Good Sam stations and they are not that much further off the road.
This is a great point Michelle! We have noticed the same thing with Good Sam not having as deep discounts. Thank you very much for sharing and for your wonderful support in watching our videos - Kyle and Renee
Awesome tips!!!! A tip/trick we use, having kids can get expensive buying toys and other things they want and see on the road at all the tourist traps and stops you make. Soooooo we pre-buy treats at dollar stores, Amazon and other places for a fraction of the price. We hide them and bring them with us. So when we make stops, we trick them and tell them we got them something at the stop! For example if we are in the Orlando area, we buy Disney related items cheaper and bring them with us! We save lots, and also keep their attention for longer drive days! 🥳🥳🥳
Wow this is one of the best tips we read all night! You need to start a blog if you don’t already have one! No children yet here but need to write this one down! Thanks Dan! ~Renee & Kyle
Sandra Westley from the UK a bigger tip would be not to get your kids used to having new toys all the time, give them half of there toys and put the other half away, after 3 or 4 weeks collect up all the toys put them away and get those others out, best never to get into the habit of keep buying toys every time you go out. Kids don’t need toys a few boxes and the odd chair with covers make dens much more fun.
@@robwestley7370 thanks for your time, however I wasn’t looking for parenting tips. To each is their own. My wife and I have 2 amazing, respectful, caring kids who love everyone equally and earn every little thing they get. To imply my kids are spoiled or “better not create that habit” would be doing so without know my wife, kids and myself. I was sharing a tip that we use and other families you, and didn’t require such response from you. Now I’m going to go put my amazing kids to bed. Have a wonderful weekend 🥰
Dan you guys sound like you are wonderful parents, keep up the amazing work 😃🙌🏼 best to you and your wonderful family Hope we can meet up on the road soon!
Funny story about gators... Back when I was military in NC we used to head to the beach on base (we'd convince our CO that it really took 2 hours to get the medical records to the on base hospital...no clue why he believed that!). But there was a gator on the way...in a big hole. Every time we went by we tossed him a few burgers. He preferred McDonalds...no clue why. It became a base tradition. he was the gatekeeper, the toll was a quarter pounder. But he never bugged us.
Oh my goodness Malachi! That is a hilarious 🤣I wonder how many quarters pounders that boy ate by the time you guys left LOL Great to meet you by the way! Are you currently living the RV lifestyle?
@@HappilyEverHanks The pleasures mine folks! Yeah, I totally think he looked forward to our surfing days. other interesting note: he was also our hurricane gauge. Every time he wasn't in his hole, we'd start to hear the warning sirens within a day or so. Not RV'ing yet! It's planned...I need to get my son out of the house first :D he's almost there, just needs a bit more motivation. And I'll probably start with snowbirding...I like to stay in places I love for long periods of time. But who knows? the bug may eventually hit me once I get there :D
@Malachi Hough That is so interesting, animals are so amazing! yes absolutely! We are the same way, we like to stay in spots and not have to move around all the time. To be honest, it can become really exhausting packing up and moving constantly 😅 Great talking with you!! We hope to catch up with you more on other videos, cheers Malachi! Stay safe
Those free electric hookups are good for EV road trips, too. We live in the sticks, so to get to the nearest Tesla supercharger to get on road trips, we need to hook up at an RV park in winter when the cold affects vehicle range. EV charging at an RV site tends to be a flat rate of $10-20 for the stay, which will take 2-4 hours, compared to a Tesla supercharger taking 30-60 minutes to charge the same range. This means our RV park charger stop is usually timed for around a lunch break. I believe all new Teslas ship with a 14-50 adapter, but check the specs on your vehicle, not all makes and models have the same plug compatibility. (I drive a beat up farm truck that can tow a 4+ horse trailer, hubby is Captain Gadget. We make it work.)
@@HappilyEverHanks I grew up on the west side of the Portland Metro area. There are campgrounds in the Willamette Valley, which gets below freezing maybe a couple days a year and snow maybe once every three years. There are also a lot of campgrounds on the coast that also rarely freeze or snow. You will get rain often through the winter, but it is a light rain, so maybe tenths of an inch a day. We moved away a few years ago but want to move back eventually.
Oh very nice! I am from Northern California, I’ve been to Portland a few times, it’s a beautiful area! Thank you for sharing this insight with us, it’s nice having the inside scoop on what to plan for according to where we will be staying! We appreciate your time Brian! We look forward to hearing from you again soon, best to you - Kyle and Renee
Hubs and I are slowly preparing to retire and live on the road in the RV. I am excited and terrified at the same time. So glad I came across your RUclips! #thankshanks
With my free credit union Visa card, I pay insurance, utilities, gas, food..... everything. I get 50 cents of every gallon of fuel I buy at a Shell Station and the discount has never run out. No matter how often I gas up, it has always been 50 cents off. You’re spending the money anyway so you may as well get some bonus stuff for it. Always pay your total balance to $0 every month though so you keep the ol credit scores in the 800s! 🤘😄👍
That's amazing!! Love that you utilize your credit card so much! Definitely want to maintain a great credit score like you said and not get backed up with payments 🙂 Rock on Adam!! You are killing it!!!
Don’t forget about GasBuddy, especially for us non-diesel people. We quite often find deeper “natural” savings using that over Good Sams/Pilot. And as for Michigan prices in the summer…. well worth every penny! Come paddle up here sometime.
Hey Gregg! Thank you so much for this comment, the GasBuddy is a great app for sure! Michigan sounds wonderful, we can't wait to come visit 😊 Have a great weekend Gregg, best to you!
Love the TSD fuel card so far. We can't wait to sit down and compare last year and this years fuel costs per miles! #future video Thanks for sharing 😃 ~Renee & Kyle
Surprised you didn’t mention COE,s. Since hubs is disabled we use our National parks pass to get half off. So we pay $10-$12 a night. Most of them are on water.
All good advise! We also did a entire video on Good Sam, Harvest Host , and Passport Am. We actually stayed 45 min from Yellowstone last year and it was the best! We got to see a lot of wild life on the ride in everyday!
Thank you guys so much for the wonderful support! We are so happy that you guys got to use this to the full advantage! And what better place to spend it than in Yellowstone 😀🙌🏼 We love hearing this, thank you so much for sharing. Talk to you again soon, be safe 😊👋🏼
We use Quicken to track ever penny we spend and take in. We are very frugal also!!!! We drive North in the winter, and South in the summer lol. So are we have camped in 17 degree weather to 114. We had a different experience with credit cards. When we got hit with fraud and it was easier to get our refund from the debit card than it was with the credit card. The credit card wanted to fight us saying we bought the items, and the debit card refunded us the money before we even knew it got stolen from us. Both cards were from the same company. Thanks for the awesome tips
That’s a really good app to use, I have use in Quicken before and have had great success with it 😀👍🏼 You guys probably save a lot of money going the opposite direction of the crowd! Great to hear your tips and insight with the credit cards. Thanks for letting us know! 😀 We really appreciate y’all, keep these wonderful comments coming 😊🙌🏼 Best to you guys and much love from the Hanks family
Excellent tips guys, as a solo traveler I am sure my expenses are probably less than yours but at the end of the day we can make this life as cheap or expensive as we like. My biggest expenses are 1) Fuel 2) food and 3) lodging although, I mostly boondock; I don't care for crowded parks.
Can confirm, Kyle is great at reading and responding to comment, but watch out for that Karl guy, he can be a bit of a prima donna. Good tips, thanks Hanks!
Hey Rory!! Thank you so much for your awesome support and taking the time to comment 😃I bet that can be exhausting! We hope to raise a family one day on the road. Keep these wonderful comments coming on other videos, we really appreciate your feedback!!!
@@HappilyEverHanks You can’t beat the prices, but beyond that, the selection is great, and the chain is well-managed. They treat their employees well. Everyone I know who works there loves it. They were excellent about handling the pandemic, with an ad campaign that assured us they’d have items in stock, and store policies that prevented hoarding in the early pandemic. When we move to Colorado, other than our friends and family here, I think H-E-B will be one of the things we miss the most.
Awesome! Thank you so much for sharing Desi 😊 we will definitely keep our eyes peeled for this, it’s nice having a recommendation and the inside scoop!! Best to you, we hope to hear from you again soon!!
So, we purchased these Saturn paddle boards. They are made with D-rings already attached as well as other items. We had a couple beach chairs that we can secure to the paddleboard to be used as a kayak. Take beverages along & some lunch, find a beach spot, and you have beach chairs! Also, they can be lashed together to be used as a catamaran. We purchased an electric trolling motor that connects between the two SUPs to per us around when we are looking to relax on the water. Don't know how to attach pics to show you...
That's an awesome idea Dave!! Love how ya'll got set up with some comfy chairs on the paddleboards 😃We have seen where people also use their ice chest cooler for a seat while on the water. We need to get with the program on these awesome ideas you are bringing! We have never thought about a trolling motor 😀 Unfortunately RUclips doesn't allow you to post pictures in the comments. You can feel free to email us if you would like! kyle_renee@happilyeverhanks.com Thank you so much for writing out these amazing comments Dave. Keep them coming!!! We really enjoy hearing your take and your side of the journey! Talk to you again soon, cheers Dave - Kyle and Renee
In ten days we are headed out to Yellowstone and the Tetons. Adding in Mt Rushmore and a few other things. takes a while to get the camper prep'ed and inventoried.
We just returned for our Rushmore, Yellowstone, Tetons trip. I'm so glad were were there in May. The crowds weren't bad...some of the weather was unpredictable but it was still a GREAT trip. Have a wonderful time and take a bunch of great pics :)
That’s so awesome Kathy we are so happy to hear that you had an amazing trip!!! Beautiful areas of the country you guys were able to see 😊🙌🏼 nicely done!!
Depending on the size of your camper. Theres a small dirt road about 2 miles from the south yellowstone entrance in the tetons that leads to primitive campsites. Like $10 a night. I tent camped, but people had horse trailers and campers back there.
Boondocking is a great way to keep costs lower in an RV too. Putting in a solar system and a composting toilet minimizes the need for hookups and saves thousands after a year's time.
Hey there that is a really great point! We really like the Boondock whenever we get the chance as well, it’s a really great money saver 😀🙌🏼 Thank you so much for your wonderful support! What’s your name by the way?
Thats gonna be 90% of my rv use. It's on my own land so how did you build your composting area. I was military and had to build those but we just shoveled down a couple feet and put lime in it whenever needed.
That’s amazing! Congratulations to you guys on your new purchase 😊🙌🏼 so excited for you guys and your upcoming adventures! How do you feel about the Cougar 368MBI so far? Is it everything you guys have been looking for? 😀
That’s how I live! Very good advice your giving I’m impressed you know this so young. I learned the hard way. I have a card that is paying me between 30 and 50 dollars a month. I pay it off as soon as it posts. It’s the best way to live.
Wow thank you so much Cheryl! Your words of encouragement means so much to us ❤️ that’s fantastic fantastic that you were also being able to make the most benefits by using a credit card! Might as well make some cash back if you’re already spending the money 😀👍🏼
You may be getting a lot of negative comments but....We bought a 2021 Forest River Sabre 36BHQ at the Dallas show in February and took delivery in June. We did a full walk through with power water, etc. Granted my wife did all the research/reviews before hand and this was our 3rd trailer since 2o18. We have had only the typical problems, trim falling off and the occasional pex fitting failing. I feel most comments are only negative, this is a positive one!
We are so happy to read this comment, and are happy to hear that you had a positive experience! It's nice, knowing that situations like this exist. Thank you for taking the time to share this with us 😊 - Kyle and Renee
My family, wife and 2 little kids, have decided to retire early and live the RV life. It was intimidating at first thought, a lot of unknowns, but your videos have helped us better prepare. Thank you!!!
Love you guys! Good advice. Also use your Good Sams and/or AAA card to get more discounts at shops, restaurants and entertainment. The more options you have the greater the discount.
Russell!! Thank you so much 😃👍🏼 Much love to your for the wonderful support!! Also thank you for this great tip with AAA! We hadn't thought of that option yet! We will look into it Tell us about yourself, are you currently living the RV life? 😀
Great tips! Your energy, chemistry, video quality, audio quality, and editing are top notch !For those of you who served in the military or have family that qualify you for USAA , their American Express card gives your a 5% rebate towards fuel. That's better than the 3% at Wells Fargo ( not a good or ethical bank from their millions in fraud legal payouts and fines over decades anyway).
Okay I've binge watched all your videos. Now what? I need more. How about the first 3 years of traveling. Where are those videos. I feel like the cookie monster except I need more videos.
Dan you are so awesome! I wish we had some now our first three years of traveling, but we were so busy with nursing and just enjoying the new environment of the RV life 😀 we will definitely keep the videos coming though!! We can’t thank you enough for your wonderful support 🥰
Hola from Peru! I will start full-timing in November. These tips will help. I already planned on getting the All Stays Pro and Harvest Host. I will save this video in my favorites for future reference. I told y'all we were going to Paracas this past weekend. It was freaking awesome! We took a boat tour out to some islands off the coast of Peru where you got to see Sea Lions, Penguins, and millions and yes I mean millions of birds. They collect guano from the islands where the birds nest. Tons of bird poop. Here the Sea Lions have no natural predators. There are virtually zero sharks of any considerable size in Peruvian waters. So the sea lions are safe. We also went to Huacachina. It's a natural oasis in the middle of the desert where you can do sand boarding. We opted for taking the paddle boat around the lake instead. We are doing Machu Picchu and Cusco over the 4th of July weekend. I've got to get my bucket list things out of the way before I leave. Anyway, Huge hugs from Logan and me. Remember gators are more afraid of you than you are of them. At least that's what we used to tell my brother Stumpy.
THIS IS SO FANTASTIC TO HEAR!! We are so ecstatic that you guys had an awesome time last weekend. It sounds like it was absolutely incredible! If we ever visit Peru, we will definitely need to take you along or meet up with you to have all the deets of where to visit 😎 Machu Picchu sounds just amazing... Hugs to both of you! Great tip on the alligators by the way 🤣 LOL Mac you are too awesome friend, much love to you and Logan! Can't wait to meet up with ya'll one day soon
Wow!! That is super close to our home Kellie 😃How awesome!! It's wonderful to meet you ❤️What inspired you to start living the RV life? Any idea on what type of RV you will be getting??
I am so happy I found your channel! The hubby and I, along with the kids are about to do the RV life! Of all the RV channels I have watched, yours’ is the best!!! Hope to meet you guys on the road some day 🤗🤗🤗
It's so wonderful to meet you! Thank you so much for your wonderful support ❤️How exciting! We are really happy for you guys 🤗What kind of RV are you guys going to be traveling in?
@@HappilyEverHanks we are still looking, right now we trying to decide 5th wheel or trailer. Only one month left to make a decision 😩! Information overload
@@kswworld5267 We totally hear you on that one, it can be a TON of decision making. Keep us updated with what you guys decide, we would love to hear all about it 😃
Love you guys! So entertaining and informative. #ThanksHanks. Oh, and thanks for the cameo, too. One thing that saved us a ton of money coming back from Florida in March was our main macerator toilet started to get a valve stuck and kept running our fresh water and filling up our black tank while boondocking (two extremely bad things). So we emptied all our fresh, grey and black tanks at one Boondockers Welcome knowing we still had eight more days of travel to get home. The host said he knew of a great local RV tech he could call but we decided to wait since we had a second gravity toilet on board that we could use with a jug of water. Once home, I dropped the coach off at our local RV dealer and they replaced the $2400 toilet under warranty. Whew!!
Hey Denny!! We miss you man! Hope that we can cross paths again one day soon 😊 It was such a hoot meeting you! Whew that is a so great that you were able to get that toilet replaced, what a nightmare that must have been!! Hope you guys are doing well, much love to ya'll! Be safe friends 🤗
@@HappilyEverHanks It really wasn't a nightmare. We just dealt with the situation calmly trying to save money anyway possible as you and Renee point out terrifically in this video. Hope to cross paths too. I know you guys were talking about a meet up sometime. Maybe Maureen & I can plan for that. Safe travels and can't wait until next week's video.

Oh we definitely feel it 😂🙌🏼 She is always hogging the armrest hahaha! Thank you so much for your wonderful support! Are you currently living the RV life?
@@HappilyEverHanks Not yet. Currently going through some life changes. Thinking this is an option for me. My new job is actually as a respite worker for my parents as they have 3 young adopted children with special needs. If I live in an RV on their property, I would actually be tax exempt, get a raise, yet maintain my own space. Currently I have a housemate, that I would love to travel with but do need our own spaces. My wife insists that I only watch Hanks because I have this thing for Ney Ney! Absolutely not not true! Well, ok maybe but I love the tips, antics and other interesting info. Always fun so as they say, Thanks Hanks!👏🏼👏🏼
Love the channel. Just wanted to comment on TSD Logistics fuel program. 1) each truck stop’s discount is different but you can search ahead to see what the current rate is before you get there. In my experience, TA has the largest discount. 2)The convenience of easy access using the commercial truck lanes versus fighting to find and maneuver around regular fuel stations is priceless. No anxiety or stressing about fitting. For reference I started with a travel trailer and popped a tire in a curb on my very first trip using normal pumps with a gas truck. Upgrade to diesel and fifth wheel in 2020 and signed up immediately. Definite game changer for me. Only con is you do have to give your ss# and bank account info to get started.
Hey Randal!! This is really valuable information!! Thank you so much for taking the time to write this, because we had no idea about this 😃Is there an app for the TSD? If there is, would you be able to tell us the name? You hit the nail on the head with that, we absolutely love not having to wiggle our way in, I feel so at peace going to truck stops to fuel up!! What model of RV are you rocking out on the road? 🙂
@@HappilyEverHanks search EFS in apps for iPhone. More notes: When you fuel, you will see the cash price on the pump. Immediately after you complete the transaction, open the app and it will give you a detail of the transaction showing the discount and amount that will be charged to your card that you link to the program. For example, you might fill up and see $85 at the pump, but after the discount, you were only charged $73 meaning you saved $12 by using TSD. Disclaimer, I do not represent TSD, I’ve just used it for about 8 months and it’s great, EVEN if you don’t get a discount, the freedom of movement through the commercial pumps is one of those intangibles that adds up. Final pro for the program is the ability to use the card directly at the pump without having to prepay like you would with a regular bank card. Good luck with your travels! Enjoy.
Randal you are a lifesaver!! Thank you so much for this, we are downloading this app now! How wonderful 😃🙌🏼Having this flexibility is priceless and saving money is just icing on the cake! We are so happy that you are enjoying the program as well! Whatever saves the most money and keeps the RV tires on the road right? One last thing if I may... does the app show you different pricing of truck stop locations in the area? Or have you just found that TA in the past has the best savings? We need to start trying to find more TA's now!!
@@HappilyEverHanks yes the app will show prices for that day as the rates change. You can also go to the link that the company sends to you upon registration that gives a detailed list of every fuel station that participates. So you can look ahead of your route and plan stops by convenience with the best possible rates along the way. Hope that helps. Oh btw, yes in my experience between Pilot, Loves, Flying J, and TA, my best discounts have been with TA.
Randal! We went to a TA today just because of what you said 😃Thank you again for sharing this with us and everyone reading!! Renee has been having a hard time linking the app with our account. I guess we had made some phone calls in the past to address the issue, but had little luck in resolving the problem. We are going to try reaching out again soon. It sounds like a great convenience to have the app linked to the account!! You absolutely rock Randal!! 😎👍🏼
Hey guys, we're a Boondocker's Welcome host in south central Minnesota. If you ever get up this way look us up - we call ourselves "The Farm". We're about 3 1/2 miles off I-90 and only a mile and a half of gravel (about 30 miles west of I-35). Love your channel. Thanks for all the info!
#ThanksHanks. Again! Knocked it out of the park! I hope to use some of these tips soon. Getting WiFi installed this week, (actually taking them a month). House is close to being on the market! Yeah! But, I can not do winter in Pennsylvania. What was all that white stuff on your truck? Nope, nope, done with that! Hahahaha. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to next weeks vid! Stay safe! I am pretty sure there was an alligator! LOL.
Hey Vinny! You see that gator!? lol Yes don't do the white winter stuff, but if you do, now you know what channel has all the info! That's so exciting! Almost ready to go 🚐 Thanks for the great comment! Have a nice weekend 😃 ~Renee & Kyle
I am sure you have heard this already but the Bureau of Land Management Long Term Visitor Areas are very cost effective. $180 a season, September 15th to April 15th.

Your CC info is spot on. Been usin' and abusin' CC benefits fot years. Use it like a debit card, best advice for all. CC companies are scoundrels and are looking for the irresponsible users, be responsible and it's a win win.
Make sure you use the OPEN ROADS app when using the EFS card. Its great going through a commercial lane when your towing a fiver!! No 4-wheelers to fight to get in or out of a fuel stop.
That’s amazing!! You just have seen so many places in your travels 😊 I bet you have some great stories to share Stay safe out there! We hope we can hear from you on other videos, we enjoy your feedback and hearing your side of the story
Another great video! We are Harvest Host fans, stayed at 3 great venues on our 1100 mile trip north this spring and were very happy with the stop overs. We are definitely going to check out the diesel card (the Ram 3500 Dually is a mighty thirsty Beast) and the Boondockers Welcome site as well. FYI we have found a lot of the resort parks we like offer 3 month discount packages, which may be a long stay for y’all but offer up to 50% discount to the nightly rates. We are mostly looking for monthly stays along our journeys to save cashola and to explore the areas. Looking forward to next weeks paddle boarding video and I had a thought: Kyle + Carl = Carlyle! That’s what we say we’re going to watch, the Renee and Carlyle show...Be Well!
Warren!! Thank you so much 😊🙌🏼That is so great to hear that you have been getting a lot of great stays with the Harvest Host! I bet your truck is a thirsty beast indeed pulling that 44 footer of yours!! 😁 The TSD won't steer you wrong, the best part is that it's free! Wow, we had no idea about the huge discounts at the resort parks! Thank you for sharing 🙌🏼Love the Carlyle! That's hilarious! It's great hearing from you again Warren! We really appreciate you guys! Hope you are having a great weekend....then again every day probably feels like the weekend for you guys 😉haha #goals - Carl and Ney Ney
Oh my gosh you guys are THE BEST. I vibe with your content so hard, I wish we could be friends. You make RV life look so fun and enjoyable. I want to be like you! You have inspired me that much more to pursue RV life!! I will keep you posted!!! Please keep it coming, you guys are incredible!
Darren!! Thank you so much for your awesome support 😃🙌🏼 we are so happy to hear that the TSD card has brought you a lot of savings! Any big upcoming trips you guys have planned?
My wife and I love watching your videos. We've decided you two are the Chip and Joanna Gaines of the RV world! You have found your true calling!
Thank you so much Ted!! Your support means everything to us 😃🙌🏼Are you currently living the RV life?
@Ted Teer,
Oh yes, that is a great way to put it! Only this is "The Hanks" Karl & Renee on "HappilyEverHanks"... lol. Thank you Hanks!
💖💖💖
We too... after 20 years being dormant, we purchased a new-used Upright Travel Trailer. Ol-deeer and starting all over. Gearing up to camp in 2022. Love The Hanks! They came up in a search, and third video in. Here we are.
💖💖💖
Thank you so much John and Jan!! 🤗❤️ We hope that we can see you both one day soon!!!
Live it up, you guys are doing an awesome job 😊👏🏼🙌🏼
As a Boondockers Welcome member please note that not all hosts have acres and acres of property. Some can only offer a safe place to park which might be a driveway in a residential neighborhood. Some can only offer a strip of grass on the side of their house and accommodate a 20 foot rv. The premise behind BW is offering travelers a safe place to park while traveling. 😊
Great information Denise!! Thank you so much for sharing with everyone 🙂Best to you! Hope to talk again soon!
Thanks for the info. I am excited to get back on the road in May
My husband really wants to buy one of your hats where can I find one to buy
🙂 It seems like a great place
Love the Lectric Bike!! Oh my goodness, that must be so much fun to ride around on 😃 Hopefully we an get some one day and come ride with you to Disney!! That would be awesome!
@@HappilyEverHanks The Ft is so worth it!! I can give you all the details at the meet up tonight.
Sounds great Wendy!! We so look forward to this 🤗🥰
Disney should have a character like you Kyle. Goofy would be a start. Love you guys
LOL thanks Tom!
If you haven’t I suggest trying upside fro fuel cost. I average 75k miles a year for work and I have saved hundreds of dollars in fuel cost. Also there is cash back options for restaurants and groceries too. And it’s free!
I have it it’s great
I found out that some casinos will let you park in their overflow parking sections, some of which are very nice grassy areas with trees and more times than not they have electric but who doesn't mind boondocking for free at a casino, it was shuttle transportation available, and in my case Alice Cooper was playing at the outdoor Amphitheater not far away!!
He’s a Christian I would love to meet Alice Cooper
All these tips are helping me with solutions I never imagined existed...I don't want to boondock @ Walmart forever and worry about late night passer by robbers.
You've both inspired us to make a total change in lifestyle and i cant thank you enough for the truly informative and useful information, and it all pairs so well with your personalities and anecdotes. Amazing channel, this world is fortunate to have you both in it. Might even start a channel also but having interesting things to say is a challenge in itself
Also, if you’re a veteran, military bases have beautiful rv parks only available to us. And they’re super cheap.
@katejax8917 I thought these were only for active duty and retired ... do you have any additional info? Thanks!
This would be great to learn more about
Well, to save money, I usually start off with a siphon hose and a 5 gallon gas can 🤑
Thank you for watching
We also travel full time. We use our credit card for everything, pay off the entire balance each month and enjoy the cash back of about 100 each month average to apply back to our bill or get gift cards for stores. It's a win win! Great content y'all from two golden oldies. Love your energy and fun!
You guys are so good! Thank you so much for sharing and all the love and support! 😃❤️
Love the common sense travel tips.
Watching this video where you all talk about boondockers welcome, while staying at a boondockers site in TN. Good times
Nice!
You guys were made to be in front of a camera!!! You are so interesting and definitely entertaining to watch!!!! We love you guys!!!!!
Wow!! Thank you so much!! 🤗 You totally made our nights reading this!! Much love from the Hanks family!!
Slow and steady doesn’t win the race but it will get you to the finish line
Hey Nelson!! Ain't that the truth 🙂 We really appreciate your support! Talk to you again soon
You YOUNG people.........I'm 40 years older than the 30 something Host and thoroughly enjoy your presentations. Thanks for doing what you do :)
"LOVE THAT!" 🤣
You two are so adorable!

Like Rickie & Lucy 😂

Hey Don! Wow thank you so much for letting us know this, we had no idea 😱 We appreciate you!!
Wow. I'm a boondockers welcome host. Never knew that it was sold.
Good video as always guys! I saved over $60.00 using my TSD card from Tennessee to Arizona. And used Boondockers welcome 2 nights.
This is so awesome to hear Jamie!! That’s amazing 😃👍🏼
Hope y’all are enjoying your trip, we are following your journeys through pics 😁
Dawn this is our first time hearing of this as well!
you guys are just the cutest. we watch you to help prepare for when we go on the road ☺
Love the channel and the tips! As an RN, I want to hear about your experiences in nursing!
Not just you both very smart you are all so funny and cute also. Triple treat!!
Continue youtubing 👍🏻
more like HappilyEverDorks - lol!
Such great advice! Even the dork part lol Yes we love our R&R days between sight seeing! Thanks for sharing 😃 ~Renee & Kyle
as someone who grew up in utah i can agree its better to stay outside of the moab area ...and even better if you know where to look there are free boondocker campgrounds EVERYWHERE in utah
My Parents used to own a Campground in Eastern Tennessee, they accepted GoodSams and it was amazing.
That’s really cool to hear! We would love to pick there brain, I wonder how they enjoyed running a campground? Are you currently living the RV life??
Thank you for watching Rob, we appreciate your feedback
Dan you guys sound like you are wonderful parents, keep up the amazing work 😃🙌🏼 best to you and your wonderful family

Slow down and smell the roses
To be honest, it can become really exhausting packing up and moving constantly 😅
Great talking with you!!
FYI. Wintering in western Oregon would be good. It rarely gets to freezing from the Wilamette Valley to the coast (unless you are in the mountains).
This is really great information to know, thank you so much Brian! What part of Oregon are you from? 😀
Are you currently live in the RV life? 😃
Thanks Hanks!!!!!
Thank you so much! We really appreciate your support 😃👋🏼
Hubs and I are slowly preparing to retire and live on the road in the RV. I am excited and terrified at the same time. So glad I came across your RUclips! #thankshanks
We're excited for you guys! See ya out here =)
Also you can sign up for AARP for like $12 or $15 a year and get a bunch of discounts. It’s not just for the elderly.
That's so great! Thanks for sharing, didn't know!

I like the sound of that!
That sounds like an amazing show 😃🙌🏼
DO IT ADAM!! DO IT FOR THE TUBE!
Slowing down!! Fantastic tip!!! No fuel cost then too!! Preach it!! Can’t say it enough!!
Hey Diana! Yes we love slowing down, hence why we are still in Florida after 2 months! LOL Thanks for sharing 😃 ~Renee & Kyle
Slow your roll… love it!
We have the TSD fuel Card. It has saved us so much money! It's a must have Card if you full-time RV or part-time RV and for everyday diesel fuel.
And what better place to spend it than in Yellowstone 😀🙌🏼
We love hearing this, thank you so much for sharing. Talk to you again soon, be safe 😊👋🏼
You guys great. Hope to meet yall on the road # thankshanks
Hi Peter! Thank you for your wonderful comment, it made our day reading this! We will see you out on the road! 🙂
That’s a really good app to use, I have use in Quicken before and have had great success with it 😀👍🏼
You guys probably save a lot of money going the opposite direction of the crowd!
Great to hear your tips and insight with the credit cards. Thanks for letting us know! 😀

Keep it come, Hanks!!!
Thank you so much!! We really love hearing how you like to live the RV life, it is such a customizable way of living 😊 Stay safe!!
Can confirm, Kyle is great at reading and responding to comment, but watch out for that Karl guy, he can be a bit of a prima donna.

But rewarding.😊
If you’re ever traveling to or passing through Texas, and there’s an H-E-B grocery store, stock up there every chance you get.
Hey Desi thank you so much for the inside tip on this!! So what is great about this grocery store? 😀 give us all the deets!!

I'm a Newbie at RV living and really enjoy watching and learning from your videos.
We have never thought about a trolling motor 😀

In ten days we are headed out to Yellowstone and the Tetons. Adding in Mt Rushmore and a few other things. takes a while to get the camper prep'ed and inventoried.
That’s so fantastic to hear! Have you all ever been to Yellowstone or the Tetons? What kind of camper are y’all rocking on the road? 😃🙌🏼
What!? No way! If you had to guess, what would be the max size rig to fit back there? (Ball park-ish) 🙂
The second or third time watching this video. I learned something helpful every time. Grandpa Jack
Boondocking is a great way to keep costs lower in an RV too. Putting in a solar system and a composting toilet minimizes the need for hookups and saves thousands after a year's time.
Hey there that is a really great point! We really like the Boondock whenever we get the chance as well, it’s a really great money saver 😀🙌🏼
Thank you so much for your wonderful support! What’s your name by the way?
Thats gonna be 90% of my rv use. It's on my own land so how did you build your composting area. I was military and had to build those but we just shoveled down a couple feet and put lime in it whenever needed.
Hey Mariah! I (Kyle) am from the PNW as well 🙂👋🏼 Great to meet you, what kind of RV do you guys have??

I wish we had some now our first three years of traveling, but we were so busy with nursing and just
enjoying the new environment of the RV life 😀 we will definitely keep the videos coming though!!
We can’t thank you enough for your wonderful support 🥰
I agree the channel is a hit with everyone who sees it!
Love this video!Thank you for sharing!
“That’s what we used to tell my brother stumpy” 😂😂😂😂
Im from Pennsylvania, born and raised and going to be joining the rving lifestyle soon!! I live near harrisburg pa
Keep us updated with what you guys decide, we would love to hear all about it 😃
great video and have subscribed. thanks
That’s great to hear, keeping calm helps so much in situations while on the road 🙂 we have to constantly remind ourselves to take a step back and take a breath! Thanks for sharing, best to you both ❤️
Of all the RUclips RV channels I watch, you have the best video editing!
WOW!!! Thank you so much for this 😃👍🏼 you totally just made our day!!!
We are so thankful for you support, wishing you the best and looking forward to hearing from you again - Kyle and Renee
Love the hanks!! Thought you would be into thousand trails and passort america, we are and its great savings ! Keep your videos coming!
We haven't used those yet but maybe soon! We are slowly adding more programs to try out for everyone! Thanks for sharing your experience! ~Renee & Kyle
Thanks hanks
wow thank you Kyle and Renee. Great tips
For sure! Glad we can help! Thanks for watching 😃 ~Renee & Kyle
❤️
I love how much she was using his armrest. I didn't even notice it until he was swiping her hand out of his face. LoL! :) How can you not, "feel the love"?
Oh we definitely feel it 😂🙌🏼 She is always hogging the armrest hahaha!
Thank you so much for your wonderful support! Are you currently living the RV life?
@@HappilyEverHanks Not yet. Currently going through some life changes. Thinking this is an option for me. My new job is actually as a respite worker for my parents as they have 3 young adopted children with special needs. If I live in an RV on their property, I would actually be tax exempt, get a raise, yet maintain my own space.
Currently I have a housemate, that I would love to travel with but do need our own spaces. I desperately want one of the new 2022 toy haulers to meet all my wants, just not sure I can pull the trigger on such a high ticket item.
Wow, this is amazing to hear ❤️ We hope that the toy hauler can come true for you! Wishing you all the success!
What’s your name by the way? 🙂
@@HappilyEverHanks Thanks for your well wishes. I actually live in Indiana, so maybe I can go the Factory Direct route...
I'm Nate (not actually Irish lol)
Really appreciate this video. We don’t full time just yet but it’s in the works. We definitely see ourselves doing at least 5 day stays. We don’t want to be in a rush at all. Thanks for the apps and tips as well. We love to save money 😆
Hey Sean!! Thank you so much for your support 😃 That's so amazing that ya'll are on your way to the full time life!! So happy for you guys! Definitely take your time, keep us updated on your progression. We would love to hear more from you! Best to you Sean, talk again soon 🙂
We hadn’t heard of this yet! It sounds like an amazing program!
So this is all involved with Boondocking then Judy? 😃
I thought it was $79
My husband & I are loving all your videos, they have been so helpful!!! just jumped into the travel nursing side, along with just purchased our first 5th wheel!! Thank you for all of your advice!!
This is so great to hear 🤗 We are very happy for ya'll!! What specialty of nursing do you work in??
@@HappilyEverHanks, -ER
Your CC info is spot on. Been usin' and abusin' CC benefits fot years. Use it like a debit card, best advice for all. CC companies are scoundrels and are looking for the irresponsible users, be responsible and it's a win win.
Make sure you use the OPEN ROADS app when using the EFS card. Its great going through a commercial lane when your towing a fiver!! No 4-wheelers to fight to get in or out of a fuel stop.
Yes!! That’s a really great point 😀👍🏼 thank you so much for this awesome information!!! The EFS card is such a great thing to have!
Some truck stops ( ie some older FlyingJ's and Pilots ) have RV lanes that give you more room to get in and out easier.
Yes! We really love you utilizing those RV lines when they are available 😀👍🏼 thank you so much for sharing! Keep these wonderful comments coming
I spent 14 years driving a big rig midwest to the west coast and back.
That’s amazing!! You just have seen so many places in your travels 😊 I bet you have some great stories to share
Stay safe out there! We hope we can hear from you on other videos, we enjoy your feedback and hearing your side of the story
I get good information from you guys each video. I will be looking forward to seeing you guys on the road. Grandpa Jack
Thanks Hanks! We've been using TSD card for over a year! Great savings 👌
Darren!! Thank you so much for your awesome support 😃🙌🏼 we are so happy to hear that the TSD card has brought you a lot of savings!
