WOW...sweet radio. The only thing I don't like is the fact that it has no echo, other than that, great radio...granted that there would be enough room inside the radio to install an echo board...one of them "micro mini tornado" boards should do the trick. Great vid!!!
Nice radio - I had an ICOM 7300 and used it for 11 meters.. that of course was a hell of a rig, but yeah.. actually not suppose to use it as cb-radio. This time I dont want to invest that much money for cb-radio - and yeah well, the GRANT II especially murata-version is not cheap as well, but effortable - I am going to order that radio soon, I guess.. The SSB and the other qualities do it. There is space for 555-frequency (only if you want it) and the regular 40 channels.. So this might be the device to go for me!
Why isn't this in the US market yet? They have a version for the US channels only. It can of course be modded, however all CB radios can be expanded. It's only a single final 4 watt radio and it's pretty much the same board as the Uniden 980SSB, just with more neat features. A peak and tuned Cobra 29 LTD classic will do by far more watts, so not sure why this one doesn't have the FCC cert.
+Nathan Daniels I has no FFC cert because it can do things that FCC type certified radios are forbidden from doing. chief among them are transmitting on channels that are not allocated for transceiver use, and the ability to do FM.
+Peter Ceallaigh There is no American version of these radios. They are not Type Accepted by our FCC. As you can tell, may of us buy them anyway. What we mean by expanded is to open up the extra channels. In "stock" form its simply a 10 meter radio. These radios can operate on some 400 channels that spans 10, 11, and 12 meters once you perform a simply modification. With most radios this "modification" is literally child's play and requires no real technical knowledge. They were designed this way on purpose to be sold on the "export" market. The "instructions" for the most part can be found on youtube. As far as the difference between the Grant and the Lincoln, The Grant will operate on the EU CB channels out of the box. If you do the mod you get MANY MORE. This is single final radio so it only transmits a 4 watt deadkey and swings to about 8 watts. The Lincoln is dual final radio and does about 30 watts. The Lincoln has more features.
This is a nice rig alright with SSB but aside from that the President Richard to me is as good or better it has more functions and features I just got the Dick and I'm very impressed with it also the Dick has full 40 channel scanning function R beep echo and talk back and some PA settings to hear the channels through the PA plus a whole lot more also the Dick is a 3 final rig that can be set to do 85 watts pep that's a game changer.
I agree. The President Richard is a better deal especially if you are using it as a mobile unit and not a base station. Everyone gets all wrapped up in SSB because it has 12 watts, but once you export a Richard and CB band you have 12 watts on all 40 channels so who needs SSB? And if you’re mobile you don’t have time to tune in SSB while you’re driving.
+Achisachis73 One way to get this radio in the USA is to find a foreign radio shop that ships here. The other way is to find it on Ebay. I have a president Lincoln II V3 in my pick up truck and one in my wife's car. I got them on eBay.
why are the called export radios? in holland 4 watt is max anything above is export seems you're from the US and you say in the title its an export radio, while on the box it says European norms 🤔
This radio is a multi mode cb radio, so it can be used in many countries. You should look into what country setting you have on, because different countries have different laws, thus different transmit powers :)
DieselTrucker 2018 Hands down the 6666 blows this one away in power. The 6666 goes 60 watts. But this grant has much nicer features. What ever floats your boat.
GREAT to see the GRANT again. Just when I think I have too many radios .......
Had my grant 2 for a week now love it !
Thanks for the review, the one I have here has now over 15 hours of air time under its belt and is working well

Wow! this might be my next radio.... I haven't been keeping up with radio's lately, this looks pretty cool for a President Grant.

+Nathan Daniels I bought the president lincoln II and I love it. If you pick up either of these newer president radios you will be happy with them.
+rdsii64 What is the difference between them both? (both European versions) and what is meant by expanded?

rdsii64 , in the US they have the Uniden 980ssb, but the receive quality (sensitivity) is better on the Grant.
Do you know Where I can get one here in Germany?
Ist diese Frage wirklich ernst gemeint gewesen???

why are the called export radios?
in holland 4 watt is max anything above is export
seems you're from the US and you say in the title its an export radio, while on the box it says European norms 🤔
I only get 2w max power on SSB .... not 12w ...

ReekyMarko
What do you think... this one or the AnyTone AT6666? I want the one that will give me the most power on output.
DieselTrucker 2018
Hands down the 6666 blows this one away in power. The 6666 goes 60 watts. But this grant has much nicer features. What ever floats your boat.
anytone china,grant uniden,vietnam
Cb Fm simplex freq: Channel 31 fm

Not seeing any variable power on this, unlike the President Jackson 2.
I want it!!!
I have the original grant and it knocks the spots off the mk 2
I have a new Lincoln II + and it does more then this Grant and I think it is a much better radio all around. Mine has more features then the Grant.
