I literally do not have a System Reserved Partition on my PC. When I open up Computer Management and click on Disk Management it does not show any partition with such name.

Dear IT Army, great explanations, though they are indeed for professionals! Quick question, is there a way to 'move system reserved partition to the first position? My clean Windows 10 Pro installation installs this 'system reserved' volume adding 500 or so MB and then I have issues with manipulating my other partitions as they are not adjacent. I use AOMEI partition assistant to create and modify partitions. Anyhow, the question is whether there's a way to move system reserved partition (500MB) to the very beginning, and then have all other drives C, D, E, etc. Thanks for help.

I also have 100MB FAT32 automatically created by Windows and 16MB of unidentified partition. Both automatically created and sit right in front (by positioning) the C drive now. I want to be able to not have those and have only the NTFS ~500MB to be in front of C and hidden (which it is usually). I have this setup on another machine and works well. I hope it is not too much to ask. Thanks!

I have a question: is it true that the reserved system partition is also meant for reserved space in case of progress of updates during reboot? I've previously had a problem where my windows update would fail on about 70% with an error message and after resizing the system reserved partition, the progress would actually continue and would successfully install.
I've had this issue before and am now unsure how I actually did the resizing of the reserved partition. I can't really find much information about it anymore on the web.
Is it also true that you don't need a system reserved partition when you have a GPT partition table with both an EFI partition and recovery partition already? Do they fulfill the same task as the system reserved partition?

Do you also have a video on the MSR partition by any chance? The 32 or 128 MB part. that is always created with GPT disks. I would love to see a video that shows how to open it, explaining what is on there, how it operates and why it exists, and if you can delete it, possibly with demonstration, as it seems you can, as many have reported everything working normally after deletion, but with exception you cant then modify partitions, like create new or shrink or expand etc, but I am not sure about that, as I didnt quite try myself.. Thank you

@@itarmy2778 Thanks, I assume you mean the 16 MB partition there. Is there any explanation why is it 16? I only saw it in 128, and 32 on VMs with small disk size. Also can it be open? I heard it cant be open if the OS is running, but I didnt quite see anyone actually open it, at least, assuming it even holds some regular type of files there in the first place.

No disrespect (you know a heck of a lot more than myself), but instead of shutting down your PC twice, why not just go to recovery from settings and choose to reboot to advanced startup then choose your option?... If you can't get into Windows in the first place then I would use the shutdown option... Just a thought... Thank you1

Thanks Dano for watching the video and commenting. Yes, we can manually boot to Windows RE in several other ways, easiest being pressing Shift key while restarting. In this video I talked about the conditions in which it automatically gets invoked.

    System Reserved has Boot Recovery
Probably a separate partition to avoid file corruption
Perhaps better to keep this recovery partition
Than to move files and delete partition

I guess your delete EFI partition. If you are going to install windows 10, EFI will automatically get created. If not, then check this video ruclips.net/video/u_ROQyKBDRo/видео.html
