The art of the mixtape... I remember getting a Sony component double cassette deck for my birthday and all of the mixtapes I made on that thing. Getting all the levels right and making the transitions smooth. Man that was a long time ago. I guess I feel old now. Great review as well. I can't wait for mine to show up.

Who wants to play with a tape. The jaguar mode is the product. Looks great. I would never have this in cassette mode. As for coloring. This is great.

Excellent review, Bobby! Thanks for taking the time to review this guy. I got him too and I love him. I hope Repro or someone else comes out with a decal set for the tape mode, though. Really needs it. That's really the only nitpick I have with this great representation of Ravage.

This guy is awesome, so glad i went for him as he just completes the shelf with soundwave. Poor TT ravage has been relegated to a chest tape, but he's cool with it (or just too small to argue bless him).
I'm good with TT laserbeak, broken tail fin aside, but i'll be honest and say i'm all in for this line, and one this scale would result in some overflow.
Final aside it was good to see you stop in at the tfw2005 reviewers thread, lot of (deserved) love for you in there dude, and that's where i found out you existed.
Lol mines in the chest too. Yea that thread was heart warming for me. It's actually the content of a future skit but I don't want to spoil it ;)

Great review. Used it to get back to tape mode after months of being on the shelf. Had to get those sick Toyhax stickers on there and boy did that one pay off. I know some like to keep their bots cartoon simple but adding the tape details was huge!

Man I love these, I got rumble and frenzy riot and furor coming in like 3 days and I can't wait, but I want all the tapes, actually everything by this company is solid gold.
Dude looks awesome and the review was great. I feel you on the tracking number. I've been waiting for a while now. Every time I see someone get theirs I find myself pacing around my house waiting on the mailman like a father waiting on the birth of his first child. To date this Ravage eludes me. I will continue to wait... My spirit is broken.

Sorry to hear bout your dog buddy. Im sure he lived a great and awesome life with you and your family. That 1 skit you did BBQ'in and him grabbing the plate always cracks me up Haha. As for Ravage i wish they wouldve release him to online shops. Looking forward to the rest of the cassette's.

About this product, love it. Only gripes I have are the lack of tape marks (the injustice!) and that the chrome on the missiles/boosters get corroded over time. Not the flaps/wings but the main missile/booster body. Weird stuff. Worried about my GP Dinobots chrome as well. Maybe it's the humidity in my country...
I want a Ravage that can fit into Soundwave but at the same time I love this one. I don't get why they chose not to paint the cassette or not to tab the neck and back pieces together but I still think this is the best ravage out there. Ravage is also one of my favorites either in the animation or the IDW comic. Thanks for the review Bobby.
Wow! I had no idea this mold was this old! I think it's aged pretty well, all things considered. Still the best Ravage anyway.

I havn't made a mix tape in a long time. I used to record cassette tapes over and over to the point you can still hear the previous song slightly in the background.
ravage was always one of my favorite minions of Soundwave.

Mix tapes are a lost art. Ravage looks stealthy and powerful, which hasnt been achieved before. Great review and heres hoping they make laser beak next (rat bat is the cousin no-one talks about).

I’m glad Jaguar might be getting a reprint at the end of the month for those of us who missed them.
While the following doesn’t bother me, I’m thinking Jaguar might be a shellformer given how will thought out the cassette sheet is, and the lack of cassette markings on the figure itself.

Mr Skullface. Excellent review. Your comments on the shipping time....I work for UPS, and China is ahead of us by 13 hours. So that should help explain the difference in time. I see it as a plus when buying overseas. Cause in our eyes, it arrives faster.

I wonder if this guy can fit in an actual cassette deck, but then again I always wondered about the G1 tapes and a tape player, never got the chance to try it and see what happened. Also my deepest sympathies on your pooch's passing, I hope he went peacefully.

Holy Crap! I never new this came in a freak'n cassette case. I want it for that alone! I have a huge collection of custom tapes I have been making ever since Guardians of the Galaxy came out and I just had to have one. All out with the photoshopping foldout case sleeve with retro movie posters and screen ripped "Awesome Mix" tape sticker. I still own a tape player/recorder and dubbed myself the album. I'm up to 26 custom modern movie and videogame soundtracks...on tape cassette...I have a problem...

Great looking figure, I know the animation scale of ravage was all over the place in the show, but most the time I always saw him as regular big cat. jumping at Autobot faces and attacking or capturing humans, but never the size of a winniebago. I think its a great looking piece by itself or posed with Soundwave, but I just don't see it fitting well with my collection. Nice review as always

He is just a touch too big. It does like nice next to Soundwave. But if you got beak near by scale will get wonky

I love your dogs. Really I love things that could kill you if it had the heart to in general. Makes the sweetness all the sweater. It's also why I have a soft spot for pit-bulls.
Have to admit though, despite the little flaws its a stunning Ravage. I'd be reluctant to pay 65 bucks for him though but anyone that does, they'll be getting a great toy.

I had the same problem with my tracking from Planet Steel, but I got this guy and I love him. Ya the tape mode is kinda bland but who"s going to keep him as a cassette really? Of course, if they made a 1 to 1 version of Soundwave where he would fit in his chest, that would be something. I don't think that's going to happen, I'm still looking forward to Rumble and Laserbeak. I'm also holding out hope for a Steeljaw. Gotta send some love Blaster's way.

Problem with him on display, is he'll look great next to Soundwave, but ridiculously large next to Frenzy & Rumble. Then you buy THOSE guys when they come out from MMC, and now they're massive next to the humans who they should scale with. It's a rabbit hole.

I agree with you on this figure. It does look better than the takara one, but I'm one of the ones who'd have cried so I'll stick with my undersized Ravage who fits in the Soundwave chest.

+Bobby “Skullface” Skullface L don't get me wrong. This guy looks better and scales better as Ravage. But G1 Soundwave had always been my favorite toy before MP Soundwave. Something about a cassette player that can fit minions in his chest was beyond fun. So my nostalgia factor kicks in in Takara's favor.

Seeing this makes me think; I kinda wanna see a Ravage that transforms into an actual tape deck that can actually play music, though it would be intricate to mess with, but worth it. How cool would that be? Be very interesting, I think.

Funny thing about this is that the tapes just like Soundwave grew so technically ravage looks in scale or at least in some scenes from the cartoon. The real threat is if a 4th party company takes this design and scales it down to mp scale. Another odd fact... The tape of ravage that. a me from classic 's hound is the same size as the ravage from the mp line but they are both accurate. Que the Twilight Zone music.

Do you have a link where to buy this. Emgo got one from someplace but they were already sold out. I just want to find a place that still have one to sell. I also have the rare alternator Walmart exclusive Ravage if you ever want to review that one as part of a ravage theme.

Fortunately, this review is cool and the item is pretty cool too....but not for all masterpiece's collector for example...

I guess it's good, but sticking to standard cassette tape dimensions makes it out of scale with everything. If it doesn't have to fit into anything, why add that additional constraint?
I hear you. But for me I think it feels more in scale than the TT. and definitely has more of a presence.

It's really quite strange how Budiansky made the coolest characters out of the lamest toys. Think about it, Ravage, Ratbat and Blaster all have supper lame alt modes and still came out some of the coolest characters in transformers. It really does show how powerful a good character can be. Now that I think about transformer fans are incredibly spoiled for choice in the fiction department aren't we?
