For my money, the best of these early shell Lesney Matchbox vehicles was the 42-A Evening News Van. Like this one, it had no interior, but the diagonally placed roof sign and the model's decals really make it special. I particularly like the yellow paint on that one too. It really pops. It's one of the "must have" early models for any vintage collector, I'd think. I'm also very partial to the Rentaset/Radio Rental vans also. The cargo door, antenna & ladder, and the decals make this one another desirable model. Do you have a favorite from the late '50s to mid '60s Matchbox vehicles, Jason? I notice that you do seem to favor the more sporty vehicles, but what are some of the early Matchbox cars at the top of your list?
Some of my favourite ‘A’ models are the VW Microvan from a couple of weeks ago, the Citroën DS19, and the Morris Minor. I think each real vehicle has such a distinct look and they have all scaled down to original Matchbox size superbly well.
Another good build is always my friend keep up the good work can't wait till you have a little more to do you have a blessed day and say hi to your dad for me
Always happy to learn about a car brand I didn't know anything about while watching another fantastic restoration. Keep it up my man! BTW, a Coca-Cola logo would also have looked incredible.
I really like the early Lesney models. I would really like to see how you would fix a bent model. I have a few that were stepped on and have "stresses" sideways. I enjoy you work.
Funnily enough I have a huge 1-75 Matchbox collection but very very few have been squashed in that way! Out of my previous videos, I distinctly remember having to really hammer out the bent base of the 39A Zodiac Convertible (will leave link below), plus I’ve done several where pillars have been missing. I’ll keep an eye out for more of those badly damaged types. ruclips.net/video/yofYaNFXTFg/видео.html
Super restorasion cool taf top😊😊
small, cute, and satisfying. :)
interesting, how small companies can survive a while on a niche product... let's have a tea on that. :)
These simple Matchbox models were always my favorite and you did a fantastic job restoring this. Thanks for sharing this.
Nice restoration, details and paint job 👍👍
Great job! I have this one set aside for a restoration, too. I had to have one, as it's such an elegant-looking Matchbox vehicle
Brings a smile to my face, can remember having one as a kid!
Very nice resto, cheers, Marc D

Matchbox. Restoration 47A 1. Ton. Trojan van
Nice little remodel , is it easier to hold when drilling than using a small table drill press .
Lately I have been doing so. I think it is easier as I have more control, but at greater risk of injury!
