    Thanks. To be a successful mechanic these days you have to have small hands. I have used a very thin grease coating on hose connections or some WD40 to help them slip and seal. On those nuts I tighten until they get decidedly bottomed out and then another twist each or no more than an 8th additional turn - plastic parts don't lend a lot of confidence either side. The threads are super fine so they don't back out. Use good judgement but that O ring gasket is good.

    Nice job. I have a 2012 5 speed, been a great car. I currently have a heater hose leaking at the firewall, thought it might have been the heater core, but hopefully got lucky. Ordered the hose the other day plus the tool to remove it. I'm also lucky, I work on jets, so mechanically inclined, plus I have skinny arms and long fingers!🤣 Fine work my friend!👍

      I do as well. Not often, I see others who are A&Ps around these kinds of videos.

      @@AMScotty Yessir! Not a real popular profession, what with all the outsourcing of our jobs to other countries over the last 4 decades. I'm close to the end myself, so not sure what the future holds for the profession in the future.

    Basically if your gonna do the water pump you might as well remove the belt /tensioner and go to work on the water pump as well. I replace in pairs

    Good morning, how do I know if I should change the temperature sensor? What I see is that when I start my vehicle in the morning the needle goes up somewhat quickly to the middle (between 30 seconds and a minute letting idle) but it never goes beyond that no matter if I drive a lot or leave the car running for several hours on a hot day... is that a symptom of a faulty temperature sensor? or that could be a symptom of the Thermostat that is failing?

      If it’s in the middle that is normal operating temperature. What does it do with just the key on and engine not running?

    From another site, what does it mean to backfill the block to prevent an air pocket? Is that necessary?

    • @BLUECOLLARGARAGE
      @BLUECOLLARGARAGE  10 месяцев назад +3

      It just means filling the block with coolant at the thermostat hole before you install it but if you do it the way I did in the video you won’t have any problems. Most of the air bubbles will work there way out into the coolant reservoir after a day of driving.

  • @ephraimmiller9272

    I did this and my car wouldn't start after. So, just to let people know, there is a connection right above the hoses, going into the housing. That connection leads to the fuel pump relay. If your car wont start after, that might be it. When I pushed it in, it only moved about an 1/8th of an inch. Looking at it, I thought it was OK, until I pushed it in. Just thought I would put this out there, just in case.

    It’s. A 1.6 4 cylinder,is that called eco boost USA…?

    • @BLUECOLLARGARAGE
      @BLUECOLLARGARAGE  3 месяца назад

      There is a 1.6 non eco boost and a 1.6 turbo that is a eco boost but those are found in the ford fiestas.

    2012 you will have to loosen and hold the alternator out of the way to reach the bottom bolt. 13mm leave it hanging on top bolt and just move the bottom out of way.

  • @josephdeakyne197

    Needs 4 bolts equal distribution will leak again bad design

    • @chrisschultz6129

      Coolant leaks, engine overheats, new engine is too much, customer buys new car. Maybe a good design (for the auto industry, not for the customer)
