    CONCRETE or CEMENT? When there's no aggregate (like gravel, etc.), it's technically "cement". "Concrete" involves aggregate PLUS portland cement (mixed with water). When making a vase, I would either use a sand mix (without gravel, or sift the gravel out), or use something like Cement All. I refer to it as "concrete" which may not be technically correct. Cement All is closer to a mortar mixture (there's more than just portland cement in RapidSet Cement All). I would avoid just using straight portland cement to make vases or any object that you want to hold up long-term without crumbling or breaking easily.

    • @raykent3211
      @raykent3211 4 года назад +2

      I agree. Pure portland cement and water is fragile. Adding a fine aggregate like sand makes a big difference. I would also call that mortar, but it is a fine form of concrete. The product you're using probably also contains a plasticiser which improves flownessability without requiring superoverhydration. (I love your wordplay!)

    Hi Crafsman. I was just about to make my first ever mould for a cement weight. It goes in the base of an old lamp. The weights had crumbled away. I tuned in and this video popped up. Very useful , and excellent timing. I used RTV condensation drying silicone rubber, and quick dry ready mix cement. I built a little wooden box, and sprayed with mould release. My piece came out fantastic. Better than the original. I like your new jacket. Thank you again for all you do. Keep steady crafting.

    Dear Crafsman,
    Thanks for the video.
    We used to make concrete cilinders for engineering and we used burned motor oil on the iron molds as it did not alter the concrete properties. If someone plans to cast on metal molds, maybe this is helpful.
    Also, we would allow it to "cure" once set for up to 28 days inside water for maximum strength (there's also additional additives to bring the time down to 7days).
    So if you (or other steadycrafters) find the details chipping off, maybe this is helpful too. Much love, thanks for the show.

    I couldn’t stop laughing when I saw the coat. Crafsman, one day your channel is going to blow up more than it already is. So creative, funny, absolutely discombugulating.

    Crafsman, I love your videos. I sit in my easy chair after work and watch. Your voice is so relaxing that sometimes I fall asleep before my wife gets dinner ready. Keep steady craftin buddy!

    I love that you used a milk bottle when Miss Sylvia said her family ran a dairy farm. Craftin’ is in the details!

      Uncle Iannnnnn! :D Man, thank you. And yessir, a blackwash can give good results fast. It really brings out all the details. Along the same lines (quick but effective) is the dry-brush technique. Hope you and your family are doing well!

    This is awesome! Another easy way to customize letters is to use hotglue to trace over the font type. once it hardens it should do the same as the Thickers you used.

    Oh Crafsman, I know exactly what you mean. I'd give anything to call my grandma and dzadek right now (dzadek is Polish for grandpa -- it's the only Polish word I know, but that's what he wanted to be called). Big love to grandparents, those here on earth and those who have gone on ahead!

    As a Texan, let me just say Mr. Crafsman, your Missippian interpretation of the shape of Texas is perfect. I mean that whole heartedly.

    Crafsman, thanks for another awesome video! This one made me a little sad when I saw how much love you put into your work and package and still only charged $15!
    Your work is great and I would feel better about buying your crafts if you at least charged what the materials cost.
    Keep up these 'lit' crafts!
