- I have been a BIG fan of the Searchers since 1963 and tonight Monday 25th February 2019, 56 years on I joined them on their farewell tour at The Royal Hippodrome Theatre, Eastbourne. Good luck John, Frank, Spencer, and Scott, a shame about the cramped space in the theatre, and the rather tall man in front of me.on
One of the best bands ever thank you for sharing God bless everyone
I Have been a fan for a number of years,my dad has been a fan longer then me,since the 60s,its sad they are retiring, god bless you lads, thankyou for the years from my dad and me,my dad is crying tears as i write,he says its the end of his youth,he remembers buying sugar and spice on 45 rpm,he told me he played it till he wore out the grooves, the searchers are legends,my dad says the song that makes him cry the most is..Somebody Told Me
John McNally, Mike Pender, Chris Curtis, and Tony Jackson were the original Serchers. These were the guys back in 1964 who turned me into a Searchers fan.
It's going on two years now. Thanks my friends, you've been great, as always!
I am going to miss them dreadfully.
Always love their music...magic.Keep going back to have another look&listen.wow.magic😮🎸🎸🎼🎶🎶
Love the simplicity in stage set-up.
its called, being cheap.
@@brian.7966 no, it's the band we've come to see not fireworks 🎆!

Saw them last night, wish I could see them again already
I’m amazed at the guitarists that came out of Liverpool in the 60s…they all made it look easy…i grew up thinking it was easy…then i bought a guitar….it looks nice on my bedroom wall..
Genau meine Musik for ever, bin 1950er. Jahrgang. Prima the best Musik 👌🙏👍Weiter so 🙏🙏👍
Best group of all time
Shame that John wont make amends with Mike it would have been great to see them reunited
i saw them on their very very very last show - was exactly the same. Never seen a band go out with so little fanfare given their almost 60 year run.....
Still can't understand why no DVD, they say costly to make.....RUBBISH !!
I agree. It should have been more special.
I totally agree, its a load of hogwash. There was no DVD because they didn't want one. Its what we call in east Anglia, a bit of a rum do! I have talked to a few people now and what I can make out is that allegedly John did not want to retire, it was Frank. John allegedly stubbornly and firmly said that the last show was going to be nothing more and nothing less than any other show - and boy was he right. Don't get me wrong, it was enjoyable as they always are - but it felt as special as a wet Thursday afternoon at home. For me that is unforgiveable and a damned shame.
I had heard the same comments about Frank and John, and who wanted to stop,. Frank was fed up with all the driving, apparently. They should have had drivers, but more importantly, reduced their heavy schedule to a more manageable and sensible number of dates a year.
I agree - they brought it on themselves. Was it financial greed? I don't know. You can't make people in their 70s work if they don't want to, but if they are in the business for the right reasons there is an element of treating the fans in the right way which comes into play for me. They cannot be bad off money wise, and could and should have a) reduced their schedule, b) planned their gigs more carefully (one day in Scotland, next day in wales, then back up north) and c) got some drivers or took a flight! It feels stupid driving about!!! I would not do it and I am a good deal younger. Of course, they can claim 25p to 45p per mile from the taxman if they drive - that's a few grand extra per month!!!!! Its starting to make sense now........
BE A FAN OF THIS BAND SINCE i WAS 15 NOW 75 AND STILL THINK THEY ARE THE BEST BAND OF THE 60S
Needles and Pins my favorite 🥰
RIP gorgeous Chris Curtis
I thought the best was at The Mill at Sonning. Tiny theatre. We were in second row. Brilliant.
fan forever
Saw them last year or was it 2019?. I enjoyed it. Also saw them early 80s in a disco! No stage, came on for about 40mins then back to the disco-ing! Times must of been tough then for them to do that.
The best of the 60s groups in my opinion. Could not a better viewpoint been found here? Right behind somebodys head spoils the experience.
yus spoils the show who owns the big head ? mmmmmmmm i cant see anything mmmmmmmmmm wat a waste mmmmmmmmmmm the big head was in the video all the way throuh could they have not stood up with the camera mmmmmmmmmmmmmm the drum beat tempo never changes it become monotomus
please don't go Searchers..we need you compared to all the drivel today offers us!
Great byrds song it needs the Ricky though…
Well, another final tour is coming in 2023.
Aint that a coincidence? !!!!!
I hope.
Had many great night with them at Mansfield Palace Theatre still miss them.
Decapiten la cabeza, sombra, quiero ver!!!
wish I could drum for them..one of the best bands around and the drummer doesn't know how to play real Beat!!!
Totally agree...he is hopeless..speeding, slowing..it's all over the place like a staggering drunk. Sounds like an early 60's Pete Best.
The drummer is terrible! OMG he can't play, what a shame spoilt some great harmonies and songs!
Disagree. If he did not suit the songs he would not have been in the group
see what you mean about the tall man. lol
That constant bass drum beat from Scott ruins the way the band plays these days and is not a patch on the previous drummers!!!
Very,Very True.
@@raymondingram1505 I have seen the band many times since they started out and the first time I saw them with Scott drumming it 'did my head in with that constant irritating bass drum beat! Arrghhh and I also missed the bongos in What Have They Done To The Rain after Eddie left and they were abandoned! A random video with Scott's annoying bass drum beat! ruclips.net/video/MkHsw5liKIs/видео.html
That is one of the many reasons I go and see Mike Pender's Searchers when ever I can, as he plays and sings as near as possible to the original hits, nothing speeded up or slowed down, and NO boom, thump ,bang.
@@sylviajb5762 I've found Scott's drumming to be pretty bad and out of tume, but I'm no expert and the band are so I won't say too much!
@@raymondingram1505 Mike's also good when backed by New Amen Corner who are touring with him until next year as their musicians are excellent, also Vanity Fare have backed him now and again as he seems to be popular with the 60s' tours nowadays with several acts on each night.
Tooooo much talking Frank, just sing. Talking at length kills the atmosphere.
Tend to agree
Which Searchers?
Drummer does not fit!!
Prefer Mike Penders Searchers
what a crap film. can't see a bloody thing.
What a miserable old sod, U need to go to" specsavers" !!
