They also mentioned what it was like working in music alongside The Beatles and the Liverpool music scene. Frank and John also shared details about the upcoming tour from The Searchers and how they're doing live shows after 67 years as a group!

The Searchers ..... still great after all these years!
They certainly were part of the great sounds of the 60’s....recorded some brilliant songs...A truly Great band!...when they walk into the room ...the place lights up!...keep going lads...👍🏻
As long as they are healthy it’s great to hear they are touring again
Take this in ! Bruce Springsteen was on tour in U.K. staying in a Hotel in Manchester, he loved the unique guitar sound of the Searchers, wanted to meet John Mac, phone call was duly made and John obliged ! word has it Bruce was like a kid in a Candy Shop when John explained how it was made !
Everybody knows the Beatles and thhe Searchers, but who the heck is Bruce Springsteen?
I loved the Searchers from day 1
My partner and i were at the 'last' ever show in dudley last night.john at 82 frank 80 spencer 71 were all absolutely brilliant ! A wonderful nostalgia filled evening of great music and stories and comedy from frank as always . I wish them a happy and long 'semi' retirement. ❤
Great to see the Searchers still playing live and enjoying it
One of the best of all the groups who came out back then.
Some great songs.
never knew they were still going!! Saw them in Liverpool in the 60's
Good to see both well and healthy 🎵🎵🇩🇪
I remember going Back Stage to meet the Searchers they were fantastic guys
At the ICI club in Runcorn😮A brilliant night thanks Lads.
Great band 👌
Saw these guys play at Eltham south London in the Top Rank bingo hall about 32 years ago and they were brilliant
seen them many times, great great, and they can play.
I'm a singer songwriter over here in Canada heavily influenced by the Beatles and the whole Mersey Beat Sound and the first three albums I ever listened to when I was eight years old were albums Twist and Shout by the Beatles,Meet The Searchers by the Searchers and Surfing USA by the Beach Boys and I liked the Searchers album as much as I did the Beatles!,I actually felt guilty over that, simply they all had a fantastic sound, without those three bands I never would have picked up a guitar! Bob
Fab band love them
It was nice to see this. Frank actually lived two doors down from me in Hayes when I was a young kid. He got the Beatles autograph for my mother, and signed the fan club photo too. I remember everyone on the street liking him.
Great hearing the boys chatting about their musical memories 👍👍👍🎸😎🎸BB (👍18 )
Great to see you both just enjoying yourselves take care see you soon in Dudley
The searchers top band of the sixties songs top music , a see this band many times live in the nighties, fan Henri put Belgium 🇧🇪 thanks we never forget you and your music 👍👍

Lads great music that has helped people through the years as good today as was then- keep up the good work in helping trying to make this planet a happier place through music👍🎸🎵
They play in Albury, New South Wales when they tour out here. Still sounding good.
please never stop
Great to see may old mates John and Frank on here, they look so well. What a fantastic interview, thank you for putting this on, we really appreciate it. I miss all their shows and loved it when they were playing near my home town. God Bless them! Vic
There was a common phrase being thrown around in the early to mid 60s ---- "the Liverpool sound", meaning, that bands from Liverpool all sounded a certain way. However, Paul McCartney once said in an interview that each group from Liverpool had its own unique sound and around 5:15 John Mac seemed to confirm that and stated that they just let each musician play his own instrument and didn't actually plan the band's sound.
I saw them Saturday at Sinah Warren. They still great
Meine Zeit. Bleibt Gesund ihr Lieben.
The Searcher’s Needles and Pins single record sleeve was white with red script which read, “This is the group that knocked the Beatles out of first place in England. “
I saw The Searchers in Australia in late 90s or early 2000, but I remember only one of the original members was there. Still sounded the same. Sadly, they had no CDs left for sale after the show.
Seen them on the Phil last year brilliant thay had a young guitarist with them he was amazing don't retire jon
What a great group and what great news to know that they are still touring! Knock em dead guys!
Grew up with them
There was a time when even the Beatles said that in their free time they were listening to The Searchers (I saw that in an interview the Beatles gave in the Netherlands, or Denmark, when Jimmy Nicol joined them briefly as drummer for some gigs in Europe and Australia - can be found on RUclips). I saw the Searchers twice, in Hamburg, with Mike Pender on vocals, for me best Searchers times. Was not too thrilled by his replacement, but OK, that is how things are. Wouldn't mind seeing them again. Good that there is RUclips. I also covered one of their live songs: Seven Nights to Rock: ruclips.net/video/UOX2BGJi3XQ/видео.htmlsi=6L52M6Ko4LShn3LA and an older one: Four strong winds: ruclips.net/video/7KOyfghzc3A/видео.html
Miss the 50s 60s and 70s music, all about love and looking into each other's eyes, now it's sex and killing, no clothes and not as nicely dressed, now kids don't know how to dress, girls are no longer feminine
Inappropriate for Allen to be criticising Tony Jackson particularly when he wasn't an original member. As John McNally was trying to say.........TJ was a great lad and an important component of the band
Frank is 80. And John 82.
Always thought The Searchers had a great sound, harmonies and some decent songs. Great production too.
Sadly the three main singers Tony Jackson, Mike Pender and Chris Curtis are no longer in The Searchers with Tony and Chris sadly having passed away. Today's line up don't represent the sound of the original line up but they are keeping the fans happy by performing still and that's the main thing.
@@andysummers9507they are merely a tribute band without Mike Pender who was and is the Searchers
@@cheetham1982 I agree, they were never really the same after Tony left he's distinctive vocals on tracks such as Sweets for my Sweet and Sugar and spice were missed. Also Chris was an important part of the harmonies.
Ken Bruce sounds like Terry Wogan...😅
Yeah but without the droning and the class
Brilliant stuff, keep it going lads 👏👍🏻
Is it true that Ken Bruce is only 5ft tall ?
So this is what OAP's do all day.
Ken bruce most boring man on the radio so overrated
I agree. I go to the gym and they always play Greatest Hits radio, now he’s left Radio 2 and he’s on GH instead every day so no getting away from him unfortunately
