I've met Suggs twice. The first time was in 1980 after a gig in Bradford St Georges Hall ,the Madness roadies smuggled us in to the gig as we had no tickets...they filmed us dancing with The Gogos for 'Dance craze'. In 2005 I was sat with a mate in a quiet pub in Soho looking through some old LPs we'd just bought and this bloke leaned over and said 'I had that ....and that !' We got chatting and had a few guinness together.....it was Suggs, he has to be one of the most relaxed easy going people i've ever met.
Love it so it's Wireless Erick in Person❤
suggsy may not be the force he once wos......it dus not matter!!!!!!.......we have his voice on c.D's, tape, vinyl etc singing some of the most magical songs ever invented!!!!..god bless suggsy!!!!!
i left a really nice comment..........but it was cancelled
HI, Not sure why... Please feel free to leave again if you would like to. Sorry about that.
@@steveconwayfilms8589 thanks.......... but still didn't accept it
When Madness fans realise that the band exist on prince Buster s music the whole thing seems diluted & weak and almost cabaret.
Anyone else able to listen to this Man talking all day or is it just me? :-)
Nope. Not just you.
l like Suggs, London like me through and through and through,l live in Spain, but London never leaves you
He’s a great chap
Nice bloke
I met him. He was so cool. Really down to earth and humble.
Im 50 Now and love Madness and Suggs since 1980
A very humble bloke.... I think of Madness as a National Treasure
Well done lads
My first single Baggy Trousers
Suggs: you are an Amazing Man, Role model for all future young Artists. And a Must for them to watch this clip. Well Done.xx
you're a diamond Suggs.
great interview....I spent a lot of my youth dancing to madness!!!....great band!!great times...madness were a magic band!!!
Suggs, you're an absolutely inspiration to us all. Thank you sir!
He seems very sincere.
The man is an inspiration and great role model to every boy on earth. You can have a troubled upbringing, you have a checkered past, you can have a misspent, directionless youth. All you have to do is find what you're good at, what you love, and make one straight turn. Then just do the right things and be a decent human being. Suggs genuine personality makes him brilliant at most things he does. He wears his heart on his sleeve, even though he seems so cool. It's what keeps him humble and so nice to people. His one man show is amazing and is a can't miss fun time. Suggs is the world's favorite Englishmen, in every sense of the word. To me, someone from overseas, he defines the best and what we love about England and the English.
Nice words Matt, Is his show online anywhere mate. Where do you live, somewhere nice i hope :)
who in their right mind would chase MADNESS out of Anywhere??
That's a funny story about asking what happened to the old singer. 'Had to let him go - had an attitude problem.'
at least he didn't say "his haircut is not flat enough".
I never liked Madness when i was young, but as you get older, you start to appreciate the fun and relax more and push your dislikes aside. Nice one fella.
Just a top bloke in every way.
That last smile to camera says everything you need to know about Suggs ❤
What a great small intimate interview. As a fan and having followed them from the start I felt every word he said. Top man is Suggs. They say never meet your hero’s because there’s a chance they aren’t what they seem. I’d be disappointed if Suggs wasn’t a top geezer.
Thank you for watching
Your a joy to listen to suggs. Never change the real man u r. 💯
My favourite band when I was 16 and still are now iam 60 long live Madness North London and Englands finest
Thank you for watching
As others have said, I could listen to Suggs all day. The only time I got to see the band was at Ian Dury's memorial at the Brixton Academy. An absolute joy on a poignant occasion.
I'm nearly 70 now and I liked Madness - their music was okay, but I loved to watched them carrying on on video.
Lovely bloke, met him in a doorway next to Hammersmith Odeon and got chatting, we were both waiting to see Roger McGuinn and I was surprised that was his taste, then a doorman came and whisked him off, leaving me there 😆
The first LP i bought was madness greatest hits..........bangin!
I must of missed a lot of life travelling around round the country causing mayhem in the 80s like Suggs but hey! What adventures we all had. 💙
Top bloke is Suggs
Always loved Madness, always will. Keep on keeping on Nutty Boys 💪👌
I was 16 in 1979. They along with two tone dictated my music choice and fashion. They were important then and still are now
Up the Chelsea ❤
brilliant visually, horrific dialogue cuts.
Agreed

Thank you for the good times
Beautiful interview, Suggs is awesome, i really enjoyed this, thank you 🙏
Thanks for watching
That's really nice and natural. Well done brother 👍🇬🇧
7 Legends, thanks for the Fun, the Laughter and the Memories
I was into Madness at school....I’m an old man now,I hear my girl and I’m a kid again.
Pure Class, Thankyou
Fantastic musicians...your songs are timeless masterpieces xx
Thank you for watching!
Madness were so important to the yoof in the early 80s!
Lovely chat from a talented decent bloke, recorded with style.
Thanks for watching
Lovely charismatic guy....
When they played Finsbury Park in 92 ,Chas Smash done a lot of the organisation to get the band back together,it's a pity that now he's not in the band considering of how far they have come since then
Christmas 83 tour, Southampton Gaumont, Madness let me through the window of there dressing room. They were all so just like me. (Obviously). Years later 2002-3 meet Suggs on Frith St, Soho were I was working at the time. He'd done a voice over for something. Had a quick chat. Lovely man. Thanks for making my teenager years more fun.
only saw them one time and that was by chance, main stage Glastonbury 1985, they were good, Suggs was the worst on the stage TBH, his voice wasn't good on the day and the musicians were great,
and wot about" on the beat Pete"!!!!...how fast is that!!....its superb!!!...one of my favourites!!!...madness will become more legendary as the years go on!!!!!......these songs will become part of London's history, basically these songs will NEVER go out of fashion!!!!!!
I always wish I'd seen them boys back in the day, I seen Suggsy solo and he was good but it's not the same.
What's with the poignant wistful piano music? Not how I want to see Madness presented at all. It's making me sad. I almost expected to see Suggsy's years or birth and death fade up on black at the end.
What an inspirational video buzzing for the kenwood concert in June and see them all live
I have always found Suggs to be a likeable guy and I really enjoyed the music of Madness, Top Entertainment. 😎💯👍🏻🎷😎💯👍🏻🎷😎💯👍🏻🎷😎💯👍🏻🎷😎💯👍🏻🎷
Having a distinctive voice is far more important than being an amazing singer if you want to stand out.
There are many people who are an Embarrassment to me, But Suggs aint one of them, neither are the rest of madness. thanks steve
I see what you did there! 😊
I've always thought of him as a very good and clean living person !!!
Wonder who wrote razorblade alley & who's story that was 🤔😆🤣👍
Una biopic de Madness, lo merecen
Great man never forgot ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
on his way to being a national treasure....
Love the editing. Thank you !
Thank you for watching
Fantastic story
A couple of girls I met on the beach in NZ (Riversdale) introduced me to Madness in '80 or '81 and it was such an engaging sort of music. I don't listen to any particular music all the time but when I come back to it, it's like an old friend. Our House, It Must be Love, Night Boat, etc. Great fun. Thanks Madness for all that work you guys put in - a lot of enjoyment we all got out of it.
Thank you for sharing
Graham your such an inspiration, life would have been pretty boring without Madness. We had a subculture in Brisbane back in the early 80's, nothing like what was generating in the UK, still so glad to part of it, you guy's visited twice back then, an indelible tattoo on my brain " The nuttiest sound around "
A very genuine interview, not often heard 👍
Thank you for watching
when is mike barson the genius gunna write an autobiography?????....such a good leader, his attitude wos brilliant.
I enjoyed all the madness music I grew up with Madness UB40 in the number of overs also it was a fantastic time they're not in the 70s and 80s the best times I was born in the 60s but I remember the 70s and 80s better than I do the 60s lovely jubbly Suggs and the rest of the band I enjoyed your music very much and still do God bless you
Love suggs and madness, seen em live a few times over the decades always a great gig. Met him in 2018 when he was doing a king kanute 1 man show. Great down to earth guy and vastly underrated songwriter.
CLEVER MAN IS MR MACPHERSON.
Ian and Suggs... Legends 💎
Very well done. :)
A bit annoying
The voice of a man who is happy and content. Very inspiring.
This just popped onto my timeline as I was watching George Michael songs, beautifully filmed interview, I Love seeing people who make it in life in whichever path they choose, so many have a mundane existence, perhaps they are ok with that I suppose. Being wise like this at such a young age is commendable. Even shed a tear at the end listening to his happiness at what they had achieved ❤
Top bloke..I like the unique nutty sound of madness.
Luvs you Suggs
best band ever, pure joy!
Saw you at Lincoln this year Suggs, been with you all the way and tell you what probably enjoyed The Lincoln Castle performance the most i know i must have been a embarrassment 😋
great songs. embarrassment, baggy trousers, house of fun, our house, must be love, my girl, baggy trousers. great videos too.
Really interesting it sounds like the record co were pushing them so hard they didnt have time to enjoy it the way they once did its a shame they've alway been great as a band for sound & visuals ❤
Always remember in the 80s the fashion that went with it .. everyone wearing spencer trousers and the slip on loafers .. the big crombie coats with the Dms an the silvery grey two tone suits ... it was a great look ..do people still show up to their gigs dressed like that..
Voice like warm butterscotch. Could listen to him all day.
it's so funny to hear entertainers....."we got tired of working"....other people strive forever to achieve a career that will put food on the table but not make anywhere near as much money as something like MADNESS.....and they CANT just Quit....
Suggs, thank you.
These bands are great, these, the Wurzles and Black Lace. We need these joke band levities.
SUGGS...
Love u lord
Didn't matter what genre you were into, every one loved madness 😏
Nice film, captures a side of the character I hadn't seen before
