It’s bittersweet - Tito is not with us…Michael’s loss is still painful beyond words and Tito’s passing just added more escalating the pain by a double. 😭 Bless the rest of the Jacksons. Marlon and Jackie….and Jermaine and the rest of the Jacksons, my condolences and prayers are with you guys. Sending my love to all the kids and grandkids too.

I listened to one of these confessions last week driving home work . In short it was a car mechanic getting even with an extremely awkward customer who accused him off breaking his car and getting the garage to pay for the maintenance he did not want to pay for. Him and another mechanic who was a Welsh choir singer recorded a little ditty on one of his cassette tapes telling him to take his car somewhere else. I though "I've seem this on a TV comedy show back when I was a kid." It was on "One foot in the grave" where Victor Meldrew was stuck in a traffic jam and put a cassette into his radio and got a song sung from the mechanics from his garage telling to take it somewhere else (ruclips.net/video/W4icMkZkAeQ/видео.htmlsi=tB9EZvB-Mdtd4pQ8). So either these confessions are fake or someone saw this on an old re-run and used.

I first met Les (Billy) in 1970, at Pye studios where I was working shortly after, we were signed to the same management and Southern music. We spent many hours hanging out at Giaconda. On one occasion I loaned him 4 Shillings for a coffee and a sandwich, as he was broke. By 1973 with had both left the management. In late 75 I was on my way out of North London’s Tangerine Studios, as Les was just arriving. We spoke and he told me how fed up he was with the music business,, but he'd signed with a new manager as was changing his name to “Billy Ocean and was about record a song called "Love Really Hurts Without You” I wished him the best of luck and chose not to mention that he still owed me four bob. It would be almost 40 years later before I would meet Les again. Coincidentally, just like the last time we met, I was leaving a studio when he was arriving. He didn’t immediately recognise me but I said “Hi Les, you owe me four bob.” As he was looking a little bewildered, I introduced myself and we spent the next 3/4 hours reminiscing about those early days, what a fabulous afternoon that was. During the conversation he kept laughing, on asking why he said “You keep calling me Les and no-one else does.” I explained I can only know you as Les. We did meet a week or so later and he was with his 2 wonderful children. After all these years, he's still the same laid-back, humble, and talented guy I knew back then, and he truly deserves all the success he's achieved. Even though I haven’t seen him since, he still owes me 4 shillings. Lol.
