This is an unusual way to make an a-line skirt. I think I'll give it a go! Thank you
Just a quick thank you! I drafted up an A line skirt in the summer following your instructions and it worked perfectly. I made a fabulous and amazingly comfortable skirt for my holiday. Recently I've done the same for a winter skirt. I haven't worn skirts for years but now I can. Thank you!
Never made a pattern before but I think I will now , thank you for sharing it was lovely and clear to follow.x
Excellent tutorial, I have learned a lot ~ Thank you!
excellent, well explained and useful. Thanks very much.
excellent tutoriall. thank you so much for sharing this.
Wonderful I shall draft a new skirt today!keep the vids coming please :)
Can you do a tutorial of sewing a cardigan sweater with elbow patches?
Working in inches , how much do you add for example, just do the math conversion?
Good tutorial but I don't make things with cm I always use inches so it's a bit confusing for me so i'll just figure out my own lol
Very helpful, thank you, but PLEASE the next time you do one of these either leave the camera on zoom or not. I had to take a break as felt nauseated by movement and blurriness.
Shouldn't I measure where my hips and knees are? Rather than using a general measurement? I'm quite tall so would those measurements work for me? Sorry if this seems obvious...I've never made a pattern before. :)
Feel free to do your own measurements. That's the joy of making your own clothes.

So nicely shown, I was wondering if I wanted to make more flare how much would I spread the lower sections please?
You can increase the flare almost as much as you like, just keep the gaps equal. Make sure however that the waist doesn't become smaller than your actual waist.
I should have waited to comment LOL. How did you get 12cm down when measuring the darts? And can you reverse it so the pattern is cut on the fold for the front and not the back? Or did I totally switch that around? Ta. :)
12 is just a standard measurement for all skirts. You can vary it if you like.
I've used this guide twice since I commented. It was so fun. :D
Would there be any changes when making a wool skirt with this pattern?
You should be able to use it for wool with no problem, just as it is
Thank you for your timely response.
Hi, I would like to know how she got 22 cm and 52 cm?
hip and knee
Really? It's a free AND useful tutorial, take some antivert.
Too much math involved
What's with all the skirt tutorials never showing what the skirt actually looks like?!
