I swear, my tech 9 never jams. If you use the right ammo, it shoots great. I wouldn't suggest using hollow points in a tech 9. I Always use a nine millimeter bullet with a nice pointed bullet head. It makes the bullet slide right up in the gun's barrel smoothly. I purchased this same tec that I'm referring to at a gun store back in 2005. The gun was never shot. When I first put bullets in it, it jammed after the first round was fired. I was so pissed. Later on, I realized that the ammo I was using was old and, every round was off balanced, meaning I saw that some of the bullet head parts were pressed in the shell in a defected looking way ( it's hard to explain with words what I'm talking about). But after I changed the ammo with a certain box of bullets that the man suggested, it fired off like a charm. The fire pin broke a few years later shooting on new year's eve, but that was the only problem that occurred with it the 300 plus times I shot it. Fire pins are a easy fix for it too
This is a machine pistol type of gun. Years ago I tried to build my homemade Sten gun from plumber pipes, piston and scrap irons. Ironically the configuration a little bit similar to this. But I made one mistake; the firing pin was a total mess
@@chroma6947 Exactly. Idiots buy guns but don't know how to keep them working. I would be emarrassed to complain jamming guns, tells more about them than guns. Of course an idiot doesnt understand beingn an idiot.
What I've heard from most owners is that jamming primarily occurs when the Tec-9 is held loosely and allowed to jostle in your grip. When you have firm hold of the gun when it recoils it almost never jams. Granted this probably falls below most people's standard for an acceptable firearm.
You have a point, with the ratio of polymer and steel, it's pretty light, with a heavy bolt. So I definitely can see people limp wristing it. My original comment isn't really fair, I have had two Tec-9s that functioned great and one that jammed occasionally.
Unless your actually in combat with this weapon jamming isn't a huge issue is it..most shooters are just fucking around with it pretending to be badass .
I had an Intratec Scorpion, .22LR. I bought it to play in gravel pits, and outgun my buddies. It could use the Ruger 10-22 magazines, and I had a Sanford 100 round drum that would fit. TOTAL JUNK. It's hard to believe that they copied the Ruger 10-22 bolt, and other internals, and it didn't work. It never fired more than 5 rounds without either a stovepipe, or failure to feed.I probably had a dozen different magazines, and none worked. It also had the annoying habit of going full auto, and sometimes it would even fire 5 rounds before quitting. It got stolen from my house, alog with several other guns. I always hoped it blew up on the thief!
This gun seems great though, why are people complaining about it? It looks cooler than other pistols, it looks like a small grease gun but semi auto. And thats better than a normal pistol..
Isac Jonsson because its a cheaply made piece of shit that jams all the time, the only good thing about it is that it probably prevented more murders in Columbine for being so unreliable
The Stoned Videogame Nerd, no, a file won't do it. You actually have to make a full auto bolt, which images and dimensions are available online. You have to be a pretty good machinist. I'm okay, but not capable of that type of machining skill.
The only reason the they have such a bad reputation is the government forced them to redesign gun to fire from a closed bolt, the original open bolt tecs are quite reliable
How can anyone study the trigger function in any of these "function" videos when the whole image recoils with each round fired? Kinda defeats the purpose of the animation, doesn't it?
my favorite of all my gun collection easy to dissemble parts are easy to or like an occasional firing pin rod very reliable and loud it's got a good kick but can fire as fast as you can pull the trigger it got very good accuracy
That animation isn't representative of my very short experience with the pistol. The one time I had the opportunity to almost shoot a Tec-9. Not a post-ban model either, a legit open bolt Tec-9. I was all but ready, and I gleefully pulled back the charging handle, but the bolt got bound up somehow and I couldn't get it clear. I hadn't even loaded the magazine yet and it had jammed.
It's a shame what history this weapon has established but from a collector's point of view this pistol carries value. It will be more collectible in the coming months with the edition of the new tac 9 lower which solves many of the guns mag problems
There was a victim who died by Dylan, Lauren Townsend, he repeatedly shot her with the TEC-9, filling her body with bullets, repeated and constant bullets from his TEC-9, and it didn't jam, it just kept shooting.
