  • The Intratec TEC-9, TEC-DC9, KG-99 and AB-10 were a blowback-operated line of semi-automatic pistols. They were developed by Intratec, an American subsidiary of the Swedish firearms manufacturer Interdynamic AB. Introduced in 1985, the TEC-9 was made of inexpensive molded polymers and a mixture of stamped and milled steel parts, and the simple design of the gun made it easy to repair and modify. The TEC-9 developed a negative reputation for its association with organized crime, street gangs and mass shootings in the 1990s, most notably used during the 101 California Street shooting and the Columbine High School massacre. However, it was a commercial success, and over 250,000 were sold.

I’d have to say. This was the best break down vid. I’ve watched 4 different ones and this one slowed it down and zoomed in where I needed to see. Thank you. I got the fire control group figured out. But I needed to see the ejector and how the springs were set up to make sure I had and right. Your the man.

My tec9 blew-up in my hand yesterday. It appears a round did not fully chamber. When fired it sent the bullet down range ,and the cartridge brass separated at the base . The 'plastic' lower broke ,cracked and separated all the way to the trigger. Gun has less than 200 rnds. fired and has always been maintained and cleaned/ stored correctly. HELP?!

Bad round with a bulge or dirt in the chamber from poor quality ammo. If you were using federal. It wouldn’t surprise me.

Seems like too big a bolt for a small round.

It mainly has to do with the fact that Tec-9s are picky guns when it comes to ammo, and magazines. If you read the manual for these guns it is stated that these guns are designed to run 115 grain round nosed FMJ rounds with factory mags.
