- My Name is Craig Reed & I was one of the Three original Roadies with Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1973 who wore many Hats with the Band . Working as the Guitar Roadie at the time of the Most Famous Airplane Crash in History October 20 , 1977 & nominated as The World's Most Famous Roadie by Fans & Peers in 2022 - Sharing never before details of Lynyrd Skynyrd that have been overlooked in all of the Movies - Books & Documentaries that have been released up until now .

Griff Martin AKA The Rocket Scientist is the Co Host Of the Craig Read Stoned Roadie Podcast. Griff known as the man that can get anything like Radar O'Reilly on mash has even lavished Craig his podcast partner with hard to find items. You may see Craig appear on the show with some of these items like Craig"s Rocket Scientist lab coat and even an airline pilot captains hat and shirt. Craig will tell you he likes gifts but if their gifts anyone can get he doesn't want them. Griff spent 35 years at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Cocoa Beach Florida processing and transporting human space flight hardware. He has supported over 100 space shuttle flights and just before he retired helped to assemble the shuttle replacement rocket ARTIMUS set to launch this year. During Griff's career he has worked as a technical director in many major motion pictures at Kennedy like Armageddon, Apollo Thirteen, Space Cowboys and First Man. Griff is a long time fan of Lynyrd Skynyrd and met Craig on FakeBook where they both share the same wit and humor. Craig invited Griff to go on a VIP tour to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and they have been friends ever since.

Allen Collins entered the hospital this month in 1989 and laid there until he died in January.
It is so tragic that such a talented musician and successful song writer couldn't get a grip of things and find something worthwhile instead of the abuse and fast driving.

I don't live in my childhood home but I live in the lot that was my home. It was built a long time ago as a cabin...it wasn't really meant to be a permanent dwelling. But the property is the same. It's mine now.

On the subject of living in a childhood home ! I’ve lived in mine 50 years out of my age of 53! From 71 to 94 and moved back in 1998 and have been here ever since and till my dying day !!!! It wouldn’t be home anywhere else ! 🤘 🇺🇸
Listen to the Van Zant Brothers new songs & they are very religious based & I have no problem with that. But yet Skynyrd's management comes across very Liberal/woke. Sadly for the band it sends mixed signals. ✌🥴

Theres many Bands & Musicians that try not to rock the boat and cater to all as not to lose fans or alienate anyone or group. The first thing you have to do is find what yourself stands for , then not waiver , or be ashamed to have those beliefs , willing to defend those belliefs. As soon as you try to please everyone , you suffer the most .

I had some friends that played pretty good and the lead could litery just play whatever you wanted with those special licks n tricks to make it his own. Drummer was awesome , bass did the same and could thow a touch of his own in and you had to pay attention to catch em. They enjoyed playing cream , Hendrix , many classics from the era and many others. Lead guy was always writing , had alot going on. Never realy got a start as they all were happy doing a few gigs a month as bassist and drummer had wife and kids , lead guy not. They liked some stuff original and helped finish a couple , they just all had different ideas and goals. Something they never had talked over. Anyway , you got to be good players and the same mindset. Play the gigs and throw originals in the mix. Get your name out. Stick with what you like , cover bands have different persona they put off , and music style. Thats great but be you , not like others , even if its small. Throw yours out at shows , audience can tell you alot. Be you with vision of what you play and want to be , then put in the work , not trying to immitate others but be yourselves.

Regarding fat shaming and weight loss...I don't know which one of my comments will be read...and so I leave several for Griff to choose. A person has to come to a place in their life when they either have a bad report at the dr, or maybe someone is sick and tired of being sick and tired, or they have pain in their feet or legs, or have a hard time bending over to pick up something off the floor, or maybe fell on the floor and couldn't get up...Maybe a friend or relative made a comment that struck a nerve. Or maybe being in a store and looking at their reflection in a mirror or window was a wake up call. Or maybe a combination of many things...but a person has to be willing to STOP doing what they are doing. Make the effort to want to make changes to their eating habits, their exercise or lack thereof, and do something about it. You have to be willing to STOP the insanity. Not just go on some diet for a certain length of time and then reach a goal and go back to old eating habits that got you fat in the first place. Yoyo dieting is never good. Following any "plan" that has you eating their brand of food is not good because those diet foods have crappy ingredients, like Jenny Craig or Nutrisystem....weight watchers...Even going to a dietician who will tell them lowfat or non fat, having them eat processed foods..never good. Eat whole food, allow for intermittent fasting, so the body's digestive system can rest...and movement. You have to change how you look at food and feel about food. Only eat to live...don't live to eat. Don't be thinking I won't be happy until I have that pizza or burger and fries. Sad thing is most special occasions and holidays all center around food. It's more about the food than the people you're with. That is sad. Obsession with food is terrible...and having enablers bringing food for those morbidly obese people is wrong. And there were times when being caregiver to my sister and I said you need to cut back she would get mad and tell me it was all she had left. No...food doesn't have to be all you have left. Having health and mobility should be priority.
It's sad that for the "whoever" that represents Lynyrd Skynyrd doesn't represent the ideas that Ronnie had. So if there is a wokeness...and if that's due to "management" or Judy or even Melody...if it's a reflection on their own beliefs and not what Ronnie's beliefs and ethics...just saying it still comes back on Ronnie since he's the face of LS.

Thanks for posting that. And I am curious. If you were at lil Ronnie's house, did you also see the black and white photo hanging on the wall in Joann's living room?
So far I have been the only one to bring this out. But it is what it is. All I can say is from the day I met Joann and her boys little Ronnie and Robbie Morris, the story has always matched the photo I saw hanging on her wall.
I saw with my own eyes a framed 8 x 10" black and white photo of Ronnie Van Zant himself standing outside looked like in the Van Zant yard and he was handing a fender stratocaster, a dark one, to his young kid nephew little Ronnie Morris.
And I was always told the same story that guitar was none other than the real Ed King Sweet Home Alabama guitar he left behind with the band when he quit in May 1975 and hopped on a plane flight out of Pittsburgh. Ed could only carry out one guitar and a few clothes and left everything else behind with the band including the Sweet Home Alabama fender stratocaster that Ronnie himself confiscated upon Ed leaving it with the band and he brought it home to Jacksonville Florida and gave it to his nephew little Ronnie Morris.
This is the story I heard all the time and it matched what I saw in the photograph hanging on Joann's wall. I never thought any different about it ever.
Little Ronnie kept that guitar up until the 1980's and I heard he sold it to a pawn shop and it is gone forever. And then before Ed King died he claimed to magically have another Sweet Home Alabama guitar which I do not believe was true. I think Ed was simply putting a story to a new guitar so its worth could be falsely inflated so his widow could make more money from the sale of an otherwise worthless guitar worth a few grand, but with Ed's new story could now sell for a hundred thousand dollars. This is how I see it today. It is what it is.
I had seen a pic of Ronnie giving the singer from Golden Earring a kiss on the cheek, did they ever tour together?
I thought maybe they toured in Europe together.

The Van Zant brothers are big time Republicans. They wrote a song endorsing Ron DeSantis called "Sweet Florida". They're much different than the Robinson brothers of the Black Crowes. These two are as different as William Shakespeare and Kimmy! 😂

Griff, I read in one of Ron Eckerman‘s books that Ed had left Ron a bender base and that one night after the show which wouldn’t have been long after Ed quit the band. Ronnie told him to destroy the base on stage and Ron said that he did because he knew if he didn’t they Ronnie would.t
Okay if the members of the "Tribute" band support Trump...they should be allowed to support and endorse him. If the so called "management"...if that means Judy or her New York Lawyers....she ain't singing or playing instruments...should not be affecting what the band representing the name believe. Are they all just performing puppets for this entity called management? Let them go onstage and perform...it just sounds like this evil creature standing behind a curtain like on the Wizard of Oz. I must say it is nice to go into a higher end department store and go to the JR section and purchase a size SMALL...instead of having to go to the women's section and have to buy clothes that only Betty White would wear. I must say the plus size sections are getting BIGGER
The Black Crowes (original) band were a outstanding live. Sadly the last time I saw them Chris Roberson/singer started cussing and calling the local cops disrespectful names. People were dancing in the aisle on chairs smoking weed everywhere & the cops did nothing other than take out a couple of folks fighting. If folks wanna go see 'em, go. I've seen 'em for the last time. ✌🥴
Carters vintage guitars had the Sweet Home strat. It was one of his guitars that was sold there.
It is sad that our world has gotten so pitiful there isn't a sense of being neighborly anymore. Folks keep to themselves and I understand that fear can creep in....but it's good to be at least on a communication level so they keep an eye out for your house when you're gone and you can watch that nobody sneaking around their home when they are gone...When they stopped having front porches and folks hide on their decks behind the house, and high fences...folks don't interact like they used to. Not having a neighborhood store to go and say hello...or having a community center where folks could come and shoot the breeze...
