Impressive that you did this yourself... and it makes me glad I've only owned bikes with drive shafts. Changing rear end oil every 25,000 miles simply requires removing the plug and re-filing the oil with about 1/2 cup of oil.
Literally used Foot Pounds of Torque, to get that axel nut to loosen up😊. I've only used my chain breaker twice in the last 20 years but, when you need it, you need it! Great video!👍👍
Sprocket Center is great. We use them too on all of our bikes. We LOVE The Motion Pro PBR, it does not all (just like yours, just in a smaller package) Nice presentation.
Get you Mechanic Girl Rea ! ..All looked great till the end... It looked a bit too tight. You should check tension with the rear wheel on the ground i.e. loaded. Between 30 - 40 mm play. You saved money and time doing it yourself. What a confidence booster. Now you need some proper mechanic overalls !
My 30 cents worth. Good job working on your bike. Fun and save a ton of $. Always change both sprockets with that chain. It’s like putting on some else’s old shoe.
Keep your chains cleaned and lubed regularly, and it can last a very long time. Properly looked after chains would give you a nicer ride, better fuel consumption, longer lasting sprockets, and you wouldn’t need to adjust the slack as often.
Rea I guess you’re replacing the chain because you like the new color. Because a chain should last longer than the amount of miles you have on the bike. Good 👍 video showing how it’s done.😎Dave
One of the first videos she made with this bike was removing the rust from the chain because the previous owner didn't seem to keep it up. It's been 2 years since then.
@@karlfonner7589 hi! Thanks for the comment! I used the RK Universal Chain Tool Kit. I got it from Sprocket Center when I ordered the chain but you can also find it on Amazon as well :) - amzn.to/4fqhiQQ
I recommend to always grind the pin at least somewhat, it's too easy to break the tool. Always use a rivet type of fastener like you did. When adjusting the chain, a light push and pull is what you need to find the correct slack. If you have to push hard to get to the correct slack measurement, it's too tight. Check again after 50 to 100 miles when the lube has fully set in. Check several places and adjust at the tightest one. There shouldn't be much difference as long as the sprockets were also changed.
@@surferdude642 hi! Thanks for the comment! Yea I intended on grinding it down but forgot to bring the tool so I figured I’d just try without it 😅 and thanks for the info about finding the correct slack! I got the general idea of how to measure it but this is really good to know. I’ll definitely check it again after a few miles and see if it needs to be re-adjusted 👍🏼
Just a bit of advise, if you are going to push on a wrench with your foot, please have boots, or at least shoes on because if you slip, you may hurt yourself. Sandals, flipflops, NO! Otherwise, good video.
Able woman! You changed your chain! Well done! By the way what happen to the new bike project? I personnaly would recommend to you the Honda Hornet 750 or the Yamaha MT 07...but then you should wait for the new model of Yamaha MT 07 2025 already annouced and as it is better than the 2024 version...Ducati monster? Tomorrow there is an announcement for at least 2 new Ducati with a brand new Ducati V2 engine...I have an MT 09 2024 and I do not recommend it to you as too fast/powerful...Make sure you test ride the bike you want to buy; that is very very important! No, this is NOT how to do it. Look up the chain lock (masterlink) and open it next time. And if your chain is worn out then your sprockets are worn too. A new chain won`t last long on worn sprockets, at least you should change the front sprocket bcs that`s the one that wear out most.
Good demonstration thanks for showing and sharing.
For best wear/longevity, chain and sprockets should be changed as a set.
Great job. There is a satisfaction that you get from wrenching on your bike. It is almost as satisfying as riding. 😊
Nothing beats - a nice lady working on a bike 😀😀👍👍👍👍👍👍
I am impressed, didn’t realize it was that easy, lot easer that replacing one on a Harley, just saying. I am riding a 23 Road Glide, love it.

Thanks for the motorcycle care info Rea 😊 👍
Thank you!
Not bad at all . This is gonna be useful for first timers who have little to no experience in using tools .

Where did you get the dude arm? Do they sell those in the tool section at Harbor Freight? :)
Holy sh!, you’re really 😍
Im always a sucker for the gold chains -

Plus it's good and helpful content for a channel about being a newer biker.
I was under the impression she bought it new.😎Dave
Even though I know how to do this you did an excellent job of protecting yourself in your speech. Nice chain breaker. What’s the name please?

That chain was way too tight. Thats why you need a new one
Your measuring tool is called calipers.

from older videos it's not worn due to miles, just rusted bc of the salt from the ocean and previous owner not taking care of it.
