How did you get it so cheap? I have an 06’ SS myself. It has 149000 miles on it and I have replaced a lot of parts on it. Just replaced the crankshaft position sensor, which is very hard to do. I am looking to sell mine soon, and I see these cars going for 5000+ that are close the same condition as mine.
@@Conshnz must have been someone DESPERATELY wanting to get rid of it, or not realizing the value of the car. Could have also been an auctioned car or something? Who really knows. Even 5000 isn’t too bad for something as neat as an Impala SS though.
dang, thats pretty good. and the engine is a peculiar one not only because of the tranverse mounting, but a shorter crank and different bellhousing bolt pattern than other LS engines and some more. I do recommend looking for leaks from transmission, especially around the axles/differential, transmission heated up a bit much on the highway for me since I didnt have a cooler installed yet and most likely worn a bushing. especially since youre around the same milage im at. as a grand prix gxp owner, I wish you luck with this car, and for no troubles it may bring you
So crazy! I just bought a LS about a month ago too! $1500. Woks perfect and looks like new. I’ve just been doing minor cosmetic stuff. I’m thinking of making a video too. Seems like there is lots of Impala fans!
I just a 2008 Impala myself, paid $2500 for it, GREAT car, just needs a good deep clean except for the paint, living out here in Tucson the tops of cars (hood, roof and trunks) get beat by the sun, so I'm going to 2 tone it, from the top of the fender down I'm keeping the original Precision Red and the top of the fender up I'm going to paint Silver with a darker Silver pin stripe seperating the 2 colors, then I'm just going to put some Torq Thrust Wheels on it and call it good. Later on this summer I'll do some detail painting on the engine, maybe paint the valve covers Bronze, paint the engine cover red, and just clean it up, I'm going to put all new seals on the engine,, Thinking about going Bronze on the valve covers and some odds and ends on the engine and under the hood. It has 152k on it so it needs to be done anyway. I'm just building an everyday driver and weekend fun car taking it to cruise-ins and cars and coffee's with my soon to be 12 year old grandson to get him into the car scene.
That is awesome congratulations! Did you get a V6 impala or an SS? Either are a ton of fun. As you can see on mine and many others such as yours chevys older paints aren’t too great quality. I hope you guys enjoy it and I love your paint idea
@@beepbeepmichael The LT with a 3.5. Like I said I'm not putting alot of money into it, I'm just building a cool everyday driver and to have fun with on the weekends. I've got a 7k all in budget but I don't think I'll get close to that.

That’s actually a different 5.3 from the ones that are in the Silverado/suburban, that one is the only 5.3 that was labeled a LS from the factory, it was also a shorter block, I’m pretty sure there’s only a couple things that aren’t interchangeable
@@beepbeepmichael got ya, a lot of people think they are the exact same engine that’s in the Silverado but just flipped sideways, they pretty much are but the ls4 just had a shorter crankshaft and was all aluminum and ofc fwd which is actually pretty cool imo
$1600? In 2023? Damn, what a steal! Big honkin v8, with remote start and everything. God, I'm jealous!
Me too!
BIG HONKIN V8. I love that man. Thank you for the support

U only have to lock one time to remote start
Is that so? Mine won’t do it unless the horn honks lol
