This is DEFINITELY gonna be the BEST Bruticus to date.
It's a great disguise, though. Nobody is gonna notice a plain old space shuttle sitting on the tarmac.
Paint Scheme really looks great on it....Nicely Done..
Zeta's gonna kill it with these guys! I'm really shocked these are only $60. The joints are ratcheted and it has die cast and it's MP scale. I couldn't ask for more...maybe a 5 ft Unicron would be nice! I have 3 Constructors and will have to get couple of these guys. The quality, size, and price is making me really really wet! TAKE MY $$$!!!
Great review Ben!! I've had the test samples since June (gave them to Kathleen's Klutter for review). I've been so excited for these figures. Glad others are getting excited now as well. Wait until you get a hold of Whirlwind (Vortex) 👍🏼
The door below his head easily pops out and then you just push the tight combiner hinge right out. No screw driver needed.

This is just a guess after thinking about the light-piping piece on the back of the head. It seems to me that TW was doing lightpiping and had gang-molded the back of the head with the transparent pieces on the chest. After Zeta split they decided they didn't want to do light-piping, but the molds were set so they just simply painted over the eyes.
I'm in on their Aerialbots for sure, thought the alt modes looked great. This gives me hope, not a bad looking shuttle, now giving my JinBao Warbotron some side eye...

Even tho i wont be getting this because i am already sastified with Jinbao's Warbotron, i'm still happy this turns out great. Shame about the kibbles kinda gets in the way in the robot mode, but at the very least alt mode looks awesome.. Lets hope the combined mode will turns out great too :D
the crime here is that this is a beautiful shuttle mode, and everyone is just going to have him as a limb on Bruticus
Ben, I managed to move the connector port by using the back side of a tweezer to push the front chest door open from the underside. That gives access to the connector port to be able to be pushed by finger.

When you get the next figure in this line can you at least mention how you think it Compares as far as size and material quality to the k o War buitron oversized version

No, Swindle and Brawl are from Unique Toys. The Zeta ones haven't come out yet.
The problem is once they are formed all together which probably are going to be 60cm. It will fall down because it will not hold it.

I think I'm just going to get Onslaught, he actually looks really good from what I've seen.
Maybe I'll end up getting the others anyways because of how cheap they are for their size and because of Bruticus obviously. That is a damn good looking Onslaught though I just can't pass that up, I like how big he is compared to MP-10.

19:41 Giggity. This has obviously been designed as Bruticus first, individual bot last. Alt and arm mode are great but I just do not like the look of robot mode. It isn't G1 or Studio OX and the kibble is just too large. If I get it, I will keep the set in Bruticus mode, with the Unique Toys version in individual modes.
Agreed. I got it for the shuttle mode, which looks great.

Has anyone done a set of Combaticons where they're all period vehicles?
I mean, they're all supposed to be WW2 era vehicles but the Flying Fortress it is suddenly becomes a Space Shuttle and Vortex is a more modern helicopter, having started out as a Corsair.
Anyhow, this set does look good. Not a colossal fan of the Combaticons but I will be looking for a set eventually.
I like the scale, combined mode, and alt mode... But, I can't get behind that bot mode, there is just too much kibble, it's much more of shell former than anything else. I love the Toy World Devy, and with those releases the individual bots were equally as good as their alt and combined modes. With these it seems like they sacrificed the bot mode, in order to succeed with the other two. Ultimately it comes down to the combined mode, if it's as good as the Toy World Devy then I'll swoop them up.
Am I the only one who doesn't mind the kibble on the legs? I really like the design. It's a good first release, and they should only get better.

I think the problem is that this isn't their first release, only their first release as Zeta Toys. They designed Constructor, apparently, so they're certainly not new to making these things.
TankedThomas i know that. I was referring to as the first figure in this Bruticus set. I know Zeta is a breakaway from TW.
Cloud VII not better, much much better ;) at least from the combine mode pics. Only time will tell. 1 down 4 to go.

Does the elbow bend the other way because Blast Off is supposed to be Bruticus' right arm and the way you have it makes it the left.
Ben, Can you do a size comparison with the Jinbao? Are the Bots around the same size?
Kibble doesn't really bother me, as long as it doesn't look too intrusive and doesn't impead articulation *TLK voyager optimus designers.*
And for me, the kibble meets my standards.

I prefer their Superion over this. I think this Blastoff would be better in an IDW Masterpiece shelf than a normal Masterpiece shelf. Just too much hanging off of it and the combiner port is on the wrong side.
This doesn't look like IDW Blast Off, though. An MP IDW Blast Off would have to essentially be an upscaled CW Blast Off.
I want Zeta Toys versions for Bruticus...I want Unique Toys versions for the individual bots.

Easy question to answer... if your intent is to display the combaticons in combined mode, this buy... if your intent is to display in individual bot modes, UT. I'm personally going for these guys since I know the vast portion of the time I will be having them in Bruticus mode.

I hope Zeta Toys remake the Toyworld IDW Kup. That was totally disappointing and really shows the fallout with the designers. Since TWM03 Crank's designer/s broke off they should be able to whip out the finished version of that figure. That was my first third party (not KO) figure, it was sooooo disappointing and my only regretful purchase as of now.
I'll be sticking with unique toys 👍
