You are NOT leaving Lofoten when you take the ferry to Værøy from Moskenesøy. You are STILL in Lofoten. The islands Røst, Værøy, Moskenesøy, Flakstadøy Vestvågøy, Gimsøy, and Austvågøy are all together Lofoten. Study the map carefully next time your travel to Lofoten.

Hello Lockie and Ash! I really enjoyed watching your video. It's informative and helpful as if I was already there! I live in Florida and have been planning to see Vaeroy since 2019 but of course the pandemic delayed my plans. I am hoping this year I finally can.
I am paraplegic with polio. I walk on crutches but I also bring my wheelchair with me when traveling. When I was growing up I lived in a small village in the Philippines in a valley surrounded by mountains. I always wanted to climb up the mountains but realistically it's not possible with my physical condition until I spotted this dinosaur shaped island in Lofoten and noticed there's a road to get up there at that popular spot. I did some research awhile back that the road has to go through a cave which only opens on Thursdays...is that something you can confirm?
I am turning 50 soon and would LOVE to have this Vaeroy trip (with a travel companion of course) as one of my bucket list. Any advice you can give (camping, food supplies, weather, restrictions, etc.) will be greatly appreciated.

There is a road going up to the top but I’m not sure about opening times etc. I thought maybe it was just closed over winter with extreme snow. When we were there a taxi drove up but I can’t recall what day it was, sorry!
I hope you make it to Værøy it is spectacular! As for weather, any islands in Lofoten it changes very quickly so you can get all seasons at any time of year!

Hello, we will be going to Værøy in a month! Should we get food supplies in the mainland before going to the island? We will be there for 3 weeks!
There is a supermarket on the island that isn’t too small but is a bit more expensive so I would recommend stocking up before you go so you only need to buy a few things while you are there to save money! Enjoy your trip 😊
to visit Værøy, we must to take a boat from Reine to Sørland island first, right ?
Yes, the ferry takes you from moskenes to sørland
You can either take the helicopter or the farry from bodø or Moskenes
