@kingreyjrgaming nah bro you compete at a high level and are competent. You got your own style and loyally use a character that's actually well balanced and not cheat. People know what's up
@theish9 right, but when people say pro, I think of the actual definition of a professional, which is not even close to being me. Playing tekken isn't my job. I'm just pro level, I guess you would say.
@kingreyjrgaming fair enough. I don't even know how any of that works aside from winning prizes. Is it just people with sponsors or is there a ligit way to be a pro?
@kingreyjrgaming do the sponsors take a cut of potential prize money for major tournaments? Is it split between fellow same sponsored players? Or does it just depend
Her moveset is very good. Her safe launchers and panic buttons are strong enough to put her on higher tiers. Her problem is in her basics/fundamentals. Worst jabs, worst backdash, bad fundamentals, meh block punishers, meh lows. She's very bad in "small Tekken". That's the thing that holds her back. Sometimes both sides are playing very defensive, very carefully that its impossible to use big moves, and entire fight devolves into jabs and pokes. Only small Tekken works in those cases. And Asuka is always at disadvantage for those. Always an uphill battle. That kind of matches gets more frequent as you rank up higher.
Almost all Punic buttons she has Jun has too. B3,cancans, sabaki, f2. and so on. On top of that Jun can play small tekken with her save strings. There is no reason to play Asuka in this game
Nope, she's not. She is what you want her to be depending on your playstyle. She can be low tier with me and she can be high tier with kingreyjr and fergus.
I don't think she is bad, but I do think that she is heavily overshadowed by Jun Kazama, who let's be real here, does exactly everything Asuka can do, but a hundred times better. That's why few people don't pick Asuka. That's just my guess.
There was a time where Jun used to be top tier. I guess she has been getting nerfs and I haven't checked on her for a while. I still think she is, in some ways at least, a better choice than Asuka.
Yes.. she lacks good lows.. good strings.. too linear as in moves can be too easily side stepped/walked.. running both punches is very good but can be ducked and launched punished.. biggest issue is her moves are too slow compared to the other characters.. KingRey dominance is testament to how good he is as a tekken player and his dedication to Asuka as he has mained her for at least a decade and has put in the work and grinded to get to this level of success
@@ayobez4580 well it almost sounds like ur saying it’s the player not the character, which is why I responded with that comment. Almost like ur discrediting asuka

I just started Asuka, im trying to come up with my own playing style and not play like everybody else.. she can end a match in a hurry if you know what you doing 😂
How is she good? Your offense is locked behind slow frames OR linearity OR poor reach(I am looking at you d1+2 and 1+2). Her defensive tools are ridiculously strong but top players know how to play around it. Punishment sucks. Poking is awful. She is nowhere top 10 or even top 15. Bottom 5 imo.
@@StasionSpasski She is not a poking character to begin with.... She is an extremely good defensive character with lots of evasive attacks, parries and panic tools which makes it really difficult for someone to get in.... Her parries are stupid good, her can-can is a low high but since it's a jumping attack u can't low parry it also it Jails on block, u need to have a strong read to block the low so that u can duck punish the high or else it's just a safe jail free pass for her... Her heat is super good as well her heat smash mix up doesn't even let u move u have to take the mix up no matter what... Running 1+2 is good ff1+2 is good, her range attack is really good as well so u can't just whiff against her casually.... She is definitely definitely good....
If you have skill, d1+2 is reactable, my friend is tgs and I’m tg 90% time he is reacting it and I’m not predictable at all (as others high level players and players at tournament) on high ping (more than 50) it’s almost impossible, we have 30 ping with my friend

Great analysis. Sums her up well
Well said. I have her difficulty in tournament in the middle. She's not too hard, not too ez with ez and hard stuff at the same time

Doesn’t she not also have an OP parry?
In Tag 2, everyone needs to do a frame perfect parry, while Asuka can keep it up for like a whole second
No, she is not
I also like this character. First one i ever played with. Her weaknesses are obvious but her movments feel good and simple to remember as a beginner

no jun have bad lows compared to asuka
Nad bro, I heard its the opposite. I'm no expert but Jun was nerfed quite a bit and people say that there is no reason to use Jun over Asuka.
Asuka has better parries, what are you saying?

I play both and although they are similar, their gameplan and mechanics are different.
Asuka is fine. She’s strong in this game maybe not S tier but she’s fine

wr1+2 is actually broken in the open only few characters can backdash the 50/50 everyone else has to guess between 1+2 and d1+2 on block

Outside of NWG she really doesn't have a lot. Her moves are very linear and it's very hard to get good pressure started outside of punishment.
