Lol here comes another dude who thinks calisthenics is only about push ups and pull ups. We all have the internet do some fucking research and you'll see that, that's just the absolute basics. Those raw strength static moves such as Planche & Maltese are no joke, people underestimate and do not know how tough it is until they try it
arch and create upper back stability, widen your grip and plant your feet hard creating backwards pressure in to your scaps and shoulders with leg drive. squeeze your glutes to create a anchor point on the bench and don't fucking move
With a good coach for technique and just a few weeks of lifting you are a solid 350-360 bencher. I would say at this point you are a solid double bodyweight bencher strength wise.
try having a bigger arch in your back and driving with your heels, you should see an increase in strenght also consider a wider grip, most ppl are stronger with it
Great video! It's so weird seeing someone mostly triceps on bench though lol. You got the strength, but the nueral adaptation is missing bc you're not used to the technique/exercise. You're not used to relying on your chest for that type of power. I bet after a 2-3 weeks of wide grip your chest will adapt and your bench will drastically increase.
Still amazing for someone who doesn’t do the bench. How did he build his chest, delts and tris though? What exercises specifically? I’m assuming weighted dips

Strange cause when I first tested my max bench press in the gym I couldn't even do 1 rep with 100kg, while being able to do like 70+ dips at 80 kg bodyweight. On the other hand, when I first tried weighted pull ups i did +64kg for 3 reps, with my max bodyweight pull ups being in the range of 40+.
That was excellent! I know you incorporate more weights to your training, so how many times a week do you actually bench press? Do you keep your calisthenic days separate?
Austin, for future reference my brother, plant and drive those feet into the floor, and flex buttocks for added stabilization and leverage. While doing all of this, squeeze the hell out of the bar and GO WITH "SURE" intention. Remember.......strength is enhanced with the "TO HELL WITH IT!" attitude. It's good to eradicate the negatives and small worries. You have more than what you need. Never forget that the mind is everything.

170lb currently and can max rep 325lb as well. We here, keep grinding bro
Awesome dude. Whats planch push-ups?
Benching almost double your weight and saying "bench is not my thing" reminds me of a woman who's a 10/10 calling herself ugly.
Definitely impressed. Over 315 from push ups. Not bad.
he must've done weighted dips to man
Lol here comes another dude who thinks calisthenics is only about push ups and pull ups. We all have the internet do some fucking research and you'll see that, that's just the absolute basics. Those raw strength static moves such as Planche & Maltese are no joke, people underestimate and do not know how tough it is until they try it
Lol. You think all he does is push-ups?
Your grip is close as hell, you get your form down and you'll blow that shit out the park
Does a 325
Also him: bench is not my thing.
hey Austin Durham can you do like Martial Arts Fight
I figured it would be pretty good based on that Overhead press video he did. He definitely uses all triceps with that grip though 😂
You need to listen to dragonball Musik that would boost you to extra 50kg
Nice to see the progression
Have you guys considered doing the Army Combat Fitness Test? (ACFT)
Nice seeing someone max out a bench without a belt. Wonder how much of a difference a belt would do for Austin.
May ask how long did you rest between sets? Great video 💪
arch and create upper back stability, widen your grip and plant your feet hard creating backwards pressure in to your scaps and shoulders with leg drive. squeeze your glutes to create a anchor point on the bench and don't fucking move
With a good coach for technique and just a few weeks of lifting you are a solid 350-360 bencher. I would say at this point you are a solid double bodyweight bencher strength wise.
Goodshit fam 💪🏾
And this ladies and gentlemen is why increased muscle mass leads to more strength and not vise-versa.
Outstanding man !!
Mad props bro, that is most definitely some good money
AD team is best team on RUclips!!
This is insane. Are the carryover pushes just planche push ups and dips?
try having a bigger arch in your back and driving with your heels, you should see an increase in strenght
also consider a wider grip, most ppl are stronger with it
+ the arch allows for a safer shoulder position
Dont force shoulder impingement to ego lift. Please dont. Keep your elbows tucked and a natural bar path people.
@@arch0049 ? i didnt say anything abt flaring elbows
PURE STRONGISM TRUE WARRIOR!!!💪🏿💯💪🏿💯💪🏿. PEACE, BLESSINGS, RESPECT YA WAY, & CONTINUE TO INSPIRE MASSES!!!🙏🏿🏆
Do any of yall put your ring finger on the ring of the barbell when benching or..?
extra tightness in the lower body and leg drive would likely help keep you more stable
For those of you who're not familiar with Calisthenics or gymnastics Strength, and by that I mean MOST of you guys in the comments, just Search up these INSANE pure Strength Elements on Rings or P bars such As the RINGS MALTESE, PLANCHE, IRON CROSS and VICTORIAN. You will learn a whole new category of strength training that involves STRAIGHT ARM STRENGTH & Leverage. When You position you Bodyweight in an impossible leverage, its countless times Tougher than just carrying your bw. For Comparison, I was able to Bench press Max out at 122.5kg x 1rep and Z press(Basically the tougher version of OHP) 80kg x 1 rep at a bodywweight of 65kg. Its pure Cali/Gymnastics strength, and the strength transfer to lifting weights is undoubtedly wondrous, you wouldnt believe how well itll carryover to bench press, ohp or other compound movements. Dont underestimate Bodyweight, its all about the leverages!!
325 at 170+ that's amazing you very strong
Strange cause when I first tested my max bench press in the gym I couldn't even do 1 rep with 100kg, while being able to do like 70+ dips at 80 kg bodyweight. On the other hand, when I first tried weighted pull ups i did +64kg for 3 reps, with my max bodyweight pull ups being in the range of 40+.
It's because he is probably on test. His strength is crazy for not actually lifting weights and his trap to delt separation just screams gear.
Pls make a vid about doing track for the first time
can you collab with someone who can bench 2+ times their bodyweight and see if they can learn the planche with no training?
HUGE improvement!
Benching that much without having your form locked down is crazy tbh. You lock down that form and your bench will skyrocket. 350 easy 💯
Well Looks like imma start hittin Planche push-ups to get my bench up
Honestly just sticking to the basics will do the trick.pull-ups, pushups, squats
What is the best weight bench for home gym?
Great video📷🔥🔥📷
100%
It looks a little bit like when you lift off your shoulders unpack and your lats must get loose which will lead to instability
That was excellent! I know you incorporate more weights to your training, so how many times a week do you actually bench press? Do you keep your calisthenic days separate?
Which tune is being Played in background?
3:50 look like the chick in the bg recording y’all
You said that u didnt go above 315, but u said u dont do bench, how often do you bench then?
Austin, for future reference my brother, plant and drive those feet into the floor, and flex buttocks for added stabilization and leverage. While doing all of this, squeeze the hell out of the bar and GO WITH "SURE" intention. Remember.......strength is enhanced with the "TO HELL WITH IT!" attitude. It's good to eradicate the negatives and small worries. You have more than what you need. Never forget that the mind is everything.
You should do max Deadlift next! Advanced calisthenic athletes tend to do really well at it without training for it.
