Love that fact that you have a couple 100 grand in fine timepieces and you’re humble enough to enjoy a more basic low budget piece in a high dollar environment. Very cool
even if i was loaded i would still prefer wearing my Seiko's over Rolex
The Seiko is a work of art and in that respect superior to the Rolex which in all honesty is as classy as a rat with a gold tooth. As watches are the worst long term investments just buy them because you personally like wearing them as works of art
Wear what makes you happy. I never care to impress. My collection is all over the board. I just bought the Seiko because it appealed to me.

@@keithrjoseph9528 work of art?! Just got me a LE Alpinist and for a thousand bucks I got a nice dial with a wobbly compass. This is poor quality that should have cost max 200. Not a fan of Rolex but at least their quality is good.
I feel like your vids get closest to the essence of the romance and dreams of horology and the beauty of desiring and owning watches and how time is transcendent like the places you visit and the music you use to soundtrack it all and we try to apprehend time in mechanical and beautiful symmetry with a watch that is a piece of art

The lyrical choice of music is nice, The Moldau by Smetana, though thematically odd since the Moldau is a lowlands river in the Czech Republic, and your location is in the high Alps.
Feel the same. This guy gets it. These things we admire, these beautiful and functional watches, are examples of when humans are doing good, when great technology meets great art, and how that makes us feel about the world we live in.
Dear god, man! The quality of this channel is outstanding! Great watch content wrapped inside a cinematic, approachable and mature presentation. By far the highest quality watch channel on YT.

Wow - what a great channel. I've been watching for a few months now. I never comment on RUclips channels but hey, it's time! I'm a watch guy, but I also LOVE Italy. You capture both and I that's part of the draw for me ... oh + wine and music! I'm making my 5th and 6th trip to Italy in April and September of this year ... just started going in 2016. Cant get enough. September's trip starts in Cortina d'Ampezzo! We are doing 7 days hiking through the dolomites before coming back down into civilization for another week in northern Italy. Unfortunately, I cannot buy a watch on this trip, but I did buy one in 2017 & 2019 ... both on the Ponte Vecchio in Firenze. Great memories captured in time pieces to be cherished. Keep putting up the content and we'll all come along for the ride.
Spent many times hear skiing with my daughter years ago absolutely love this place. Keep up the good work fantastic video doesn't get anymore refined than this. Pure class.

Two years ago you introduced me to the Seiko Alpinist with this video. I couldn't stop thinking about it and half a year later I bought it for myself as a graduation present. I absolutely adore it, thank you so much!

Thanks for this beautifully put together review of the Alpinist. The mountain town of Cortina reminds me of the Ford Cortina of the early-mid sixty's when I was barely a teenager which was the years that I started to become aware of watch brands the likes of Omega, Rado, Enica, Cyma, Tudor, Rolex, Seiko and Orient.
The setting of the Cortina mountains reminds me of my days in the Province of Alberta in western Canada. The Towns of Canmore, Banff and Jasper. The blue sky and beautiful white-capped mountain tops and passes. Simply breathtaking...

What a beautiful city and scenery. The watch is striking! I love how thick it is which makes a very bold statement. The lack of anti glare on the sapphire crystal could be used as a rescue alert device in case you get stuck somewhere in the mountains. Awesome job on the video, enjoyed every minute of it. Love this channel, absolute class presentation and highly enjoyable content.
Another great video, they seem to get better each time out! Nice change of pace featuring a Seiko. I own a SARB035 and they are great watches for the money. They’re not without their weaknesses, which is to be expected for a $400 watch, but overall the finish and proportions are outstanding for the price. Well done as always!

Gosh darn it, I sold mine a few years back and now you made me want one again.
The ending was an example of the perfect father daughter moment.
