Just bought one of these, and tried it out for the first time today. I love it. I've seen people online complain that's it's too bulky. For me shooting on my bolex anamorphet adapter today, I was able to get really sharp images because of this monitor. I'm stoked!!
The other 7 inch monitor I have is even more bulky. Thats one part I cut out cause it was getting too lengthy but the other monitor has a weird screen ratio, its like extra tall so it wastes a lot of screen real estate for anamorphic. So the Osee G7 is actually pretty compact to me. But yeah its great for anamorphic, takes a lot of stress away with focusing
@@cammackey Dope! What's the other 7 inch you have? Was that the FeelWorld monitor you talked about being brittle in the video?
@@sinuous1 Yup yup!
@@cammackey Cam, I bought this monitor and no matter what I do .. I cannot get focus peaking to show up on the monitor .. whether I try it in camera or on the monitor - Zero focus peaking - pretty much makes it useless for me
Same here, I’m a size queen too. I used a 7inch Osee (with 3k nits!) for the first time and with my aging eyes, it was way better than 5 inches. Im returning the Osee as I have now pre-ordered the new Shinobi 7, even though it is "only 2.2k nits…
The one looks pretty rad too! I dont use off camera recording so fill like im buying something I dont need. Ill prbly be sticking with the Osee for a while for my on camera monitor
@@cammackey Cool, the Shinobi is actually just a monitor too, not a recorder, and weighs half of the 5 inch Ninja V!
@@salvamando1 oh shoot! I’ll have to see if I can get my hands on one to test put
@@cammackey Let us know what you think if you get your hands on one of these. Was looking into the new Shinobi 7 or a SmallHD 702 Touch. The Osee G7 is not available in Germany - i think it is similiar to the SWIT S75F. Looks like the Shinobi 7 will get some remote control features with firmware update - might be interesting.
@@robert-zech In europe this is sold as the SWIT S75F. Exact same monitor
I just got a 6 inch monitor. I have an older 7 inch as well. The new one is much, much brighter so I use it in sunny weather and I use the 7 inch one indoors, at night and so on.
Once i switched to a 7 inch monitor I can't go back to 5. It's a bigger difference than what you would think initially
Love my Osee T7 - use it every shoot 👍
This was the video I needed! Thanks.
This is a complete replica of the Swit CM-S75F monitor, even with the mini case and accessories. Although this is $300 cheaper than the Swit so that's a great find!
Swit is Europe ....Osee Us
I got mine about month ago ....and dude I absolutely love it! I stick on it matte protector foil and it helps to reflections..... so easy to pull focus with it! You did not mention the cable from back.....that's also real good..... I hate cables and like this I at least don't see it. Do you also feel like, it does not take a lot of batery? I LOVE this monitor! 😅
I love my osee!
Hope you're well brother!
Appreciate the great review! Any issues with filming high frame rates? 4k60 or 1080 120?
I havent tried anything pass 48fps, but I dont see why there would be any issues
@@cammackey gotcha! I was looking over the specs and only saw 4K 30 listed as the highest frame rate via HDMI so I assumed the screen would just blackout when using anything higher as some of my other monitors have done in the past. But it looks like the SDI output is at least 2K 60.
Wondering if you have any experience with this versus the Shinobi 7? Having trouble deciding
I heard the fan noise on the Shinobi 7 is pretty annoying. That's why I started looking for alternatives like Osee.
After years on a 7 I’ve swapped to a 5 on my Komodo. Focusing is harder now.
Time to switch back lol
What tripod are you using cam?
My first one died mid project, and today my replacement one did too😥
I had one. I sent it back the same day unfortunately. It had a dead area from top to bottom about a 1/4" wide. Also the screen turned on but never gave me an image. Buhbye. I wanted it to work for me but nope. And yes, FeelWorld is crap. I have one gathering dust.
Mine wasn’t working at first, but it was because I had my Komodos SDI output set to 4k. Changed it to 1080 and worked perfectly after.
@@cammackey Maybe so but I don't think that would have changed dead pixels.
Came for the click bait stayed for that lsd trip of a music intro
Lol the intro was a bit aggressive sorry
@@cammackey 😆 it was cool ! interesting change of pace! I’m thinking of going to 7 from 5 🧐
Still recommend this? Does the dtap cable it comes with work with the tilta vmount plate?
Yup yup it’s still my main monitor. It’s gotten pretty beat up lol. I’m not sure, but if you’re using it with the Komodo, I personally do not recommend using vmount to power any monitor. That’s how peoples SDI port get blown. I just run npf batteries on it
@@cammackey dude thank you so much, Komodo is coming in this Sat so this comment saved my life lol. Last thing! Do the Silicon Power cfcards you have linked work for 50 or 60fps on this camera?
@@RayceMortensen yup yup I havent had any issues with them! I’ve gone through 5 of them actually. Sold the first three with my ZCam and bought two more for my Komodo. Bunch of my buddies have bought them too with zero issues
I am a huge fan of yours🚀(From Japanese)
Thank you :,)
Great!!
