The phones mentioned on this video, I have them both and happy with them. They each have their own rights, but that Samsung S22+ is a pretty penny vs the Pixel 6!
Thanks for the detailed video! I loved the previous Pixel devices I used, but Samsung improved itself in recent years, so I'm battling out these two devices haha.
I had a pixel 6pro, sold it in March to buy an S22+. 6pro didn't support volte nor wifi calling on my country (something I didn't realize at the time) I find the Samsung to be more consistent performer and I actually prefer the cameras on the Samsung. Plus the Samsung has a flat screen which I have missed. Oh an and after import tax, the pixel is slightly more expensive than the Samsung too.
Thank you for the comparison. I recently purchased the Pixel 6 (previous phone, Pixel 5). I am a bit frustrated with the 6 as it tends to lack in some areas. The fingerprint feature is mostly useless as I constantly have to enter my pin. And, this morning I woke to my phone being off, showing 75% ... it had been charging overnight - seems it shut itself off and failed to continue charging. Those are a good example of the little, annoying things I am dealing with on my Pixel 6. Hence, the reason for viewing your video. I've been looking at the Samsung s22. At this point, I cannot make a choice (not enough difference between the two), however, I may reach out to Google regarding my phone. Again, thank you for the review - it was very detailed and mostly easy to understand. :)
How has the battery life been on the Pixel 6? Screen on time? Please be honest I need to know so bad lol Battery is my only deciding factor between the Pixel 6 vs S22+
@@fernandomeneses3918 actually 13 isn't without it's problem. Bugs are still here example: notification bar doesn't come down fully, fingerprint only register's 8 out 10 times, also there is problems with navigation bar. But they can be fixed and not much of an issue, but the biggest issue is battery, after 13 battery drains like water... 12 had more bugs but better battery and 13 has less bugs but less battery usage.
Its lower than 48 (it can't be shown with refresh rate display, but has been found true to be lower than 48 by observing the light trails and refreshing speed)
I'm about to buy a Pixel 6 for content creation purposes, hope battery life is not that downside I've read around. I'm thrilled by seamless integration of pixel camera software into Instagram, and exclusive pixel features over other phones
I've recently upgraded to the standard Pixel 6 and was worried about the same thing being a content creator myself. So far I can get to the end of the day with about 40% left and looking online, the September update was the one that fixed battery issues and I have no complaints with it 🤣
@@reniflal I got my pixel 6 3 days ago and so far I'm loving it. And regarding the fingerprint sensor, it's working perfectly and I am surprised how people were complaining about that.
I have tried the Pixel 6 Pro and S22+ for about a month and I honestly have a tough time choosing. I may be the only one who has a better fingerprint reader experience with the Pixel over the S22+. For some reason the fingerprint reader on the S22+ just doesn't work as frequently as the Pixel does. Face unlock on the S22+ makes it not matter much. I don't think either battery is good enough to use all the features. If you use AOD, 5G and smooth scrolling you might barely get through the day. None of those are necessary to have a good experience but the battery is not capable of getting you through the day with all 3 turned on. If you are on vacation and taking pictures and video and navigation you will need a battery supplement. The Pixel will not charge fast unless you have a Pixel stand or a high wattage charger with a fast cable. It is really picky about what charger you use and if you try using a non-pixel stand wireless charger it will probably stop charging at 60%. You should expect to carry your own charging apparatus around. You will be disappointed if you try to charge your phone at Grandma's house. The S22+ will fast charge with almost anything. Both phones are picky about the USB cable you use to connect to your car. You will need a newish/fast USB cable to use Android auto. The voice to text feature on the Pixel is really great. Call screening on the Pixel is also pretty nice. The Pixel 6 Pro is BIG and easily bent/twisted. The S22+ is perfectly solid. I personally like the curved screen on the Pixel 6 Pro. The lack of bezels on the S22+ makes for a lot of unread swipes because my finger hits the case and not the edge of the screen. The software experience on the Pixel is awesome and far superior to Samsung's. The size of the Pixel 6 Pro is too big. The S22+ is just about the perfect size. The price of the S22+ is better when considering trade-ins and discounts. I have a S9+ to trade-in and Samsung offers great trade-in deals. Honestly love the Pixel for everything except the physical size and fragility of it.
@@Dieqo93 sorry, I ended up going with the Pixel 6 and am very happy about it. Got a refurb on Amazon for a little more than $500. Also got a Pixel stand that was open-box. Battery is great, no complaints.
I'm considering the s22 and the pixel 7. Need a compact device which performs well and got a decent software and battery life, don't really care about cameras tho.
@@farajalshami9933 I would go with the Pixel 7. You may be a little disappointed with the battery but the S22's battery is really bad. The size of the Pixel is great and everything else is good enough. I find that my battery on my Pixel 7 is good most of the time but when I am at work in a high rise and can't use wifi my battery gets eaten up pretty bad. Generally, that is the only thing I've been disappointed by.
I just bought the Pixel 6 two days ago and I'm finding it to be an amazing device. I even have my screen at 60hz and it's snappy - I can't tell the difference between 60hz and 90hz. My previous Android phone was a OnePlus 7T. I couldn't justify paying $1000 for another OnePlus device and not getting the 5 years of security updates EVERY month. I also like it much better than my brother's Galaxy S21+, mainly because I find OneUI repulsive. The Samsung also has tons of bloatware which just sits in a "Samsung" folder. I think the only two phones I will buy are either iPhones or Pixels because I value no bloatware and timely security updates.
Yeah I think that was a smart move not buying a OnePlus I had the OnePlus seven pro it was a really good phone but one plus has kind of lost it with software updates .
Me too, but sadly iPhones are quite expensive and GOOGLE don't seem to like selling their phones in Europe, so for me it's quite a loss on both sides. Though my eyes have been leaning more towards Apple as their phones are quite remarkable and as you said, timely updates and phones that hold out so long is what anyone should favour.
@@YDGFX You can buy Pixels from Mediamarkt in Germany and Clove UK. I think Mediamarkt will deliver anywhere in EU. I am surprised Google doesn't sell the Pixel directly given Android's large market share in the EU.
I really wish you would have touched on pixel-exclusive and samsung-exclusive features. Honestly, the phones themselves for everyday use are close enough that it does really matter all that much.
I am a big fan of the Pixel phone, especially on the software side; I currently use one. When I got a chance to play a bit on a Samsung device, Samsung is now winning for my next purchase.
I have the S22 Plus and for few reasons, flat and bezel less screen, very bright screen, rounded size, front facing and 3X zoom lenses, and more additional features. The pixel on the other hand when I tried in store was extremely dim at 50%. You have to go to 80% brightness to get the screen bright while you can just go 30% on Samsung and get it brighter.
pixel actually goes brighter manually, its just that their brightness slider is calibrated differently. Apart from that maximum auto brightness (that is when ur outisde) is brighter on s22+ by a good margin
I really can’t understand why people would choose pixel it’s a phone with lesser everything people really get fooled by the “stock android” experience which is really overrated
@@mitchelllamar4005 price tag is what it is because you getting less lol the tensor chip is an exynos chip rebranded we all know it’s a weaker chip lower MP for camera the less attractive screen with bigger bezels the weaker battery life you’re paying 900 dollars for a smartphone that performs for 500 dollars 😂
With the S22 you may face the speaker distortion problem. This is a hardware design problem. Pressure/temperature changes cause speaker distortion. Ejecting the Sim is a temporary fix.
Sorry to hear you caught a bad unit I'm using the Pixel 6 myself it's a great device all after the June updates everything seems to be going good with most people who got bad units
@@LOUISVILLECARDINALS yeah I heard that with plenty of people. I’m glad yours worked. And I liked it so much I literally am thinking about buying one again even though the 7 is right around the corner.
My 6 runs 100 times better. About a month ago, I got an update and my phone seems to run cooler, better battery, smoother, over all better. At first I hated this phone, now I'm keeping it for as long as it is supported.
After a lot of use with the S22+/Ultra series I would never take it over my Pixel 6 Pro. Overall a much better experience imo, the P6 Pro is still a 100 dollars less than the S22+ too.
I'm considering the s22 and the pixel 7. Need a compact device which performs well and got a decent software and battery , don't really care about cameras tho.
I did a lot of research and it looks like in some ways the Pixel 6 has a better camera (quite similar to be honest) but the Pixel 6 has too many software issues and bugs to work out compared to previous models. The S22 is just a better phone all around.
The Pixel 6 is great love mines it a phone people gotta get in hand and use not listen to reviews about it i understand people had bugs I've been using it since October 27th and haven't faced any issues
How about the sound quality? Which one is better? Thanks for mentioning the firmware updates on the Samsung for I dont hear them mentioned by other youtubers. I wish Samsung would just slapping their own android skin. It would have been the better phone.
I use iPhone but I’m only here to cheer for my brotha, the google pixel! The only Samsung lineup I love, is the note. The S lineup in my opinion wasn’t always that good.
I'm an iphone user switching to android for the first time, i'm considering the s22 and the pixel 7. What do you think in terms of performance, software and battery?
Thanks for the comparison. Would be tempted by the S22+ if Samsung's current £200 'and Android' trade-in offer included it. Unfortunately, the offer currently doesn't include the + or Ultra.
i get not everyone has the same experience with bugs but it would've been nice to know what you experienced. it's the main reason i went with the S22+ over the pixel 6 even tho i wanted the pixel.
@@arpadfarkas4565 where did I say it wasn't the software? And no I'm not interested in a phone that took 8 months of software updates to fix bugs some people had. Couldn't care less if you didn't have any.
I tested both phones and to be honest I was expecting more from the Pixel 6 camera from all the hype. I couldn't tell much if any difference from the S22 granted I needed to test in different light conditions and I didn't. The S22 just a tad more saturated and nice. No editing needed but both produced natural images. The Pixel just seemed slower and not as responsive. I've heard it has a lot of software issues. This year it would be best to go with S22 or Iphone 13 Pro. The cameras are quite similar regardless although the S22 has a slight edge over the iphone. It's practically the best choice for 2022.
I have a pixel 6. Superb camera , but the rest of it is so so. It's glitchy , screen brightness is appalling and it's not the best screen, Samsung and Apple are superior in that department. I like the pure stock android experience and updates. If Google solved the glitch problems , and stuck decent, brighter screens on their phones they'd be onto a winner!☺️ Hopefully they'll address these issues with the pixel 7. The pixel 6 also feels like an experiment, bit like the Nokia 9 Pureview
I brought a P6 and them a month later I brought a iPhone 13 and its better for me and I've still got the P6 on Market place since november. The p6 was too bulky for me .
Traded my 6 for an s22+ a few weeks ago and couldn't be happier. Have had a Pixel since the 2 and used to love the devices. Couldn't get on with the 6. Too heavy. Weight distribution was completely off with that huge bump. The fingerprint sensor is awful and the software experience is unacceptably buggy. Sure the s22 battery could be better but other thank that it is an amazing phone. Got nearly £300 off when I traded in the Pixel so all in all a good buy.
I'm currently hesitating to trade my Pixel 6 for the S22+, you say its battery could be better, but according to reviews it lasts longer than the Pixel's. Did you notice a difference in battery life between the two ? Do you have the exynos version ?
@@AngryChineseWoman I'm on Exynos. Battery life is fairly similar for both from what I've seen. Difficult to say for sure because I work from home mostly and it sits on a wireless charger. However, when I've gone our for the day, both have lasted throughout. Just.
Coming from a note 9, I have a p6 and love it. Only issues are the fingerprint sensor. But much improved after March update. The voice typing with automatic punctuation is an absolute game changing feature for me. I love Samsung, but am really liking the p6. Plus the price is right and no more curved screens.
I just broke my note 9 and am having trouble which phone to pick. I always like the proprietary-ness of the pixel though and I never use my Samsung apps
@@Coburnify The Pixel 6 is awesome! All the kinks have been pretty much worked out. Fingerprint sensor works great now. However, if I were you, I would buy the pixel 7. But you'll likely be able to find a pixel 6 for cheap and they have like three more years of support. Possibly 4. The only concern I would say is the Pixel 6 does get hot. If you run a game for a while that's graphically intensive. But if you're anything like me, I only play PUBG and do it periodically not daily. And this phone runs that no problem. But the pixel 7 at $599 brand new is an absolute deal in my opinion
@@Tmacademia Thank you! No joke. I completely forgot about the show today and almost pulled the trigger on the 6. I'll wait a week for the 7. I know you've had a pixel awhile but can you tell me how hard or easy it was adjusting to the more Google proprietary software than samsungs.. (for example like Samsung note, or Samsung music)
@@Coburnify it's very easy. Most of the Google apps are already on the Samsung phones. I prefer the Google phone because it's a much more seamless experience with the contacts, calendar, messaging and all the heavy use apps. For me because I use Google apps already for work (Gmail, meet, calendar, contacts etc.) It works much better. An example of this is I can scan business cards with the Google camera app and automatically add them to my contacts. I couldn't do that on the Note 9. Because I'm in sales, I'm constantly scanning business cards and adding new contacts into my phone. I really like that. But in my opinion, the greatest feature of the Pixel phones is the voice texting and dictation. With the new Pixel processor which is only available in the Pixel 6 and 7 series, I can use voice texting and it'll add punctuation automatically and it's extremely accurate. This saves me a ton of time when I'm text messaging or I am writing emails. The grammar is not perfect but it's like 95% accurate. So I do still have to proofread and usually will make some corrections to the spelling of company names or people's names. But it learns from what you do for the next time. It really is incredible. I loved my Note 9 phone and thought I would miss it dearly, but I love the pixel more.

Samsung has better camera overall. It's more versatile and better in most situations. However, I definitely prefer UI of pixel phones but it lacks so many features that i have grown to love from Samsung like separated apps, Samsung email, Samsung gallery, Samsung calendar, edge panel, dnd etc.
Camera is subjective. I like pixel 6s photos more. HDR does a good job, photos dont have underexposed parts in hdr scenes unlike in any other smartphone, even s22 or iphone13. But some people may find the photos flat in those instances, which is understandable
@Benjamin Jagun Samsung's camera setup is more versatile. Google is very restrictive and limited. For an average user Google may be a good options but those of who love photography will be very happy with the pro mode in samsung and all the additional lenses. Also, Google is lagging behind in night time photography now. Even tho they were the Champs of it. Competition has really caught up. Plus Google phones are not available world wide. If they were I think more people would have bought them forcing them to do better every year.
Hey a really good comparison and I would say the pixel is the better phone for most people . I’ve got the pixel six but I gotta say I was tempted to get the regular S 22 because it’s size as It’s probably only small android flagship phone and say what you want about Samsung’s software but they’re hardware is definitely top-notch.
Have the S22. They still do screens the best. Size is great like you. There software and navigation has come a long way. Lastly, fingerprint reader works amazingly. Face unlock is another bonus (come on google) .

There's something about symmetrical bezels that just look 👌 on the galaxy. But Pixel 6 is the way to go. Details from a 4 month owner: It's great. Android 12 is the charm in all of this, the haptics, design, features and functionality while being perfectly complemented by the hardware. Camera is a Show-Stealer. Battery is fine. Wish speaker volume were a bit louder and fingerprint more reliable. Fingerprint is ok at best, its been getting better with each update. Still I find it hard to believe that Google put this ok fingerprint on the phone. I come from a OP8 and that fingerprint worked flawlessly.
the pixel 6 cameras are so overrated i have an iphone 12 i thought that the pixel would replace it but the selfie camera especially looks so unnatural my skin looks dark and red ish and when i give it more light it gets over sharpened it's just so bad i tried everything but the iphone just gets it right every single time i just want a good android phone with a good camera i hate ios limitations why can't we get the best of both
Hearing that people on the Pixel 6 and 6 pros not even getting more than 3 hours of battery life screen on. That right there turned me off from the Pixel completley. It doesn't matter how good the phone or camera is when it's dead. Battery should be the first thing into a phone. Seems like companies have given up on battery life. I'm switching to the iPhone 13 Pro Max as soon as I get the money. Google is actually giving Apple more customers.
No-one seems to compare connectivity between different models of phone. The primary purpose of a phone is to make calls and I wish there were people making comparisons in this area. I get the impression that the Pixel 6 isn't as good as the S22 series in this respect which is the only reason for me not choosing Google over Samsung.
I agree. It would be nice to see how phones compare on different networks & it seems the only thing everyone forgets to review is the actual phone calls.
I bought the S22+ and coming from a LG V30, I really regret my decision. The S22+ it's the worst phone I'd ever had. The user interface is the worst and intrusive. The software don't let you modify as you want and if you could it's so complicated and/or hidden perhaps to make you be a Samsung atmosphere user. My LG V30 was pretty powerful still and I just got this new S22+ because after almost 5 years of usage the LG won't have more Android support from October this year. I pretty much shut down all Samsung apps because I use Google instead, but still I can't make or modify the phone behavior as I really want/need. For example, paying with NFT, I can't figure out how override biometrics or type my pin to use the NFT right out (something I could do it easily with my LG V30). Another example, I can't turn off some notifications from Samsung on my lock screen or and again, it's too complex to figure it out that it's frustrating Another one it's using Android Auto, no matter I retrieve on the settings, it's impossible to shut off driving directions on the phone while connected to the car, that means that I get driving directions played on the phone and in the car at the same time, it's awful In terms of hardware, another low ball from Samsung. No stereo sound (just 1 speaker), fingerprint sensor is a shame as well. Supposedly, the phone should come with charging cable and it didn't Camera is very good but again, I can figure how to reduce photo size (each pic is +5MB each) in the camera configuration. Neither I can figure how to come back to the camera after taking a photo and checking the photo how it looks like. In my LG V30, I had a camera icon while seeing any picture that let you jump back to the camera right away. And again, maybe this phone does it, but the interface it so complicated that you can't figure out and I don't have time to fight 15 min each time I need to do something with the phone. I bought the phone directly from Samsung, unlocked and 256 GB internal memory to avoid Tmobile bloating software starting up with the phone and doing weird things on the background. I wonder if Pixel 6 Pro User Interface it's that complicate and intrusive
Not really sure what you're complaining about so much. Yes this phone just has one speaker bur it's very loud. Also the fingerprint scanner is very fast and accurate, I have little to no problems with it whatsoever. There are also tons of apps you can download to modify the software. If you hate Samsung then just say it. I have had little to no problems with this phone and I've had it for about 2 months now. Some other things you didn't touch on are that the face unlock is very accurate and good, the batter life is good. I've had many phones and it's also the best camera I've ever seen on a phone. I realize some phones out there are probably slightly better on the camera side but Samsung did a great job with the camera on this. So I just don't get all your hate towards it.

The tiny bezels on the Samsung Galaxy S22+ make it look gorgeous.
Just flash pixel experience on your Oneplus.
I notice the 90hz

How’s the call quality on the pixel? Can people hear you well when making phone calls and WhatsApp? Thanks for the video 🙏

"I just like it more". On the Pixel. I agree, don't know what it is exactly. They are just fun phones.
Most of those bugs have been fixed
How about the sound quality? Which one is better? Thanks for mentioning the firmware updates on the Samsung for I dont hear them mentioned by other youtubers. I wish Samsung would just slapping their own android skin. It would have been the better phone.
Great review....I've narrowed down my choice to these 2 phones, so this was very helpful. Thank you!!!
I held the S22 plus and coming from a Note user the experience was positive.
I use iPhone but I’m only here to cheer for my brotha, the google pixel! The only Samsung lineup I love, is the note. The S lineup in my opinion wasn’t always that good.

Where can I find those wallpapers?!!!
There's an app called Backdrops on the Play Store. They're in there.
The pixel 6 also feels like an experiment, bit like the Nokia 9 Pureview
can you provide the wallpaper link of the one you've applied on s22?
They are both good phones . The pixel is much cheaper to buy too . I went for the pixel 6, although I do like Samsungs

Another example, I can't turn off some notifications from Samsung on my lock screen or and again, it's too complex to figure it out that it's frustrating
Another one it's using Android Auto, no matter I retrieve on the settings, it's impossible to shut off driving directions on the phone while connected to the car, that means that I get driving directions played on the phone and in the car at the same time, it's awful
In terms of hardware, another low ball from Samsung. No stereo sound (just 1 speaker), fingerprint sensor is a shame as well. Supposedly, the phone should come with charging cable and it didn't
Camera is very good but again, I can figure how to reduce photo size (each pic is +5MB each) in the camera configuration.
There might be something wrong with your device, the s22 series have stereo speakers
bro the s22 has stero speakers and the fingerprint is really fast. something probrably wrong with your phone
It's all neck to neck in experience until you use goodlock in Samsung where it's full potential is released.
