Are brain zaps that occur when you are trying to fall asleep only but not during the day anxiety related? Where the type that occur all the time are from medication withdrawal or side effect from use? I read there are 3 main causes can anyone confirm? Also, mine are right side of my head/brain connecting to my left intestine under my heart then it explodes acid into my chest. Has anyone had a reaction that travels down their body then sweat profusely or get really cold? The other night I had one on the left side that connected to my right intestine but one the one time. It seems to move. These occurred before I went on 5 mg. of Lexapro to try to help and a stomach acid reducer. Its still happening though. Anyone have these? Any cures for this? Thanks for your time.
I’ve been having these for the last 6 years but I’ve had horrible anxiety for like 20 years. I saw a neurologist, had an MRI and a 72 hour EEG where I had to push a button every time I felt it. Everything came back normal. Very annoying. It feels like when you put a 9 volt battery on your tongue except it’s in my head. I’ve never taken any psychiatric meds. Now I’m having some symptoms of MS, so I’m having another MRI with contrast next week.
@Mohammed Hidji my brain MRI was normal. I have neck and thoracic spine in a couple weeks. This is going to sound crazy but when I stop taking my vitamin D it goes away. I think I've felt it once in the last month since I've stopped, as opposed to several times a day.
I get these what I can only describe as brain zaps/whooshing when I have a cold or flu mostly, moving head from side to side and closing eyes looking left or right and tense the eyes as if to close them again and that brings them on and then it pulsate but it slows down after about 5-6 times like starting a car with a dead battery, I don't get any pain it's just really uncomfortable and concerning. With each pulse it's as if everything mutes for a tiny moment.

Sometimes im not sure about the trigger but at times a small sound can trigger that zapp.. i got a MRI scan because i had a concussion prior to all this.. also got my heartrythm checked and got a recorder on a few days and they found no change in the rythm at the times where i experiencing the zaps.. its insane man.. im not sure about rather mine comes from anxiety or stress or if its the medication that i tried.. it started after being on sertralin for a few days.. ended in the ER because of constant panic attacks for hours.. then later started to get these zaps.. also questioning if other medication can give same withdrawal symptoms
But i got on some other SSRI's and i still felt the zaps but not quite as much or intense i could notice them but not to the point where i would jump up like im getting a huge jumpscare
Then i got some side effects from that medication and they stopped the SSRI and now those body zaps are coming back.. any advice or idea what to do? Or what could be causing them?
You’ve really helped me so much!!
I still have some lingering DP/DR. It’s definitely better but I still notice some days it still kinda scares me. But I’m working on it 😁
Im on the same path rn, wish you full recovery. We're stronger than this!!
How do you survive
@@rowenasabino7432 Honestly it’s simply because I have no choice. The more you let it scare you the more it does. I still have to work to take care of myself and my dog. Even DP isn’t scarier than losing my home ect

You see I personally don't think I have ever had anxiety but after my military career and traumatic experiences I'm starting to get symptoms like these "brain zaps" or in my description feels like a brain shiver. What has helped you guys get through this stuff
the brain zaps dont bother me, but for anxiety exercising, meditation and reflection on whats causing the anxiety helped greatly. also, talking with people you trust. just talk, let the mind dump a bit of its stress. it helps an enormous amount for me
I'm the same. I never thought I had anxiety and am now suddenly having all these scary symptoms.
I’m experiencing zaps and feels like electric bolt or electromagnetic zap in my head only. Any ideas what this co7ld be. I’m not taking any medication

I get the head/brain tremors from the start of my panic attacks for two years now 24/7 without even trying medication
I understand! I’ve had them pretty bad for about two years. I thought it was dementia or something really wrong with my brain. But I’m learning that it really is anxiety. And absolutely yes you can make it stop. Work on your worry, anxiety and hyper stimulation. Shaans videos are very informative.
@@randynavarro6101 yeah thank you for me its like something is constantly moving in my head sonetimes like tremors othertimes vibrations its just awkward of course im checked by doctors but my fear of somekind of illness is always in my mind
@@a.m4404 it’s an AWFUL feeling! I totally understand. But if you start controlling how much you worry it will gradually feel better. Anxiety is tough and it takes serious work. But you can get through it. The head sensations are THE WORST! it takes everything you have to just keep going. There’s a Bible verse that I stand on and you should read it. Philippians 4:6 I hope it helps! You can do it believe me! Stay strong!
Ive been experiencing this. It’s the oddest thing.
Hi, how are you doing now, any updates? I have the same thing.
@Mohammed Hidji my brain MRI was normal. I have neck and thoracic spine in a couple weeks. This is going to sound crazy but when I stop taking my vitamin D it goes away. I think I've felt it once in the last month since I've stopped, as opposed to several times a day.
@@jessicaann7507 So what are you doing to this type problem solve
@@jessicaann7507 is this problem vitamins d diffiency??
@@rifeynman what doctors say ?? I am also this type problem for last six years
I get these what I can only describe as brain zaps/whooshing when I have a cold or flu mostly, moving head from side to side and closing eyes looking left or right and tense the eyes as if to close them again and that brings them on and then it pulsate but it slows down after about 5-6 times like starting a car with a dead battery, I don't get any pain it's just really uncomfortable and concerning. With each pulse it's as if everything mutes for a tiny moment.
I got brain zaps as a side effect from meds. Its like having a cattle prod zapping your brain!
Am I the only one who gets chest tension due to anxiety
No I do too It sucks
Feels like a mini heart attack
I think i have this brain zap because ifeel electric sensation in my brain and sometimes in my different part of my body
Are this electric sensation in head similar to brain zaps or they are two different things
@Adityakumar-px8xd still have this electric sensation in my head.what about you bro what is your situation do you have it every time or it comes sometime
I wish it will go soon from you bro
Great, what medication did he prescribed for you bro
Thanks bro
Hey Ive never taken or gotten off medicine but had brain zaps 2 years ago. I had them again 4 weeks ago for 2 weeks and the last 2 weeks after they stopped have had a light pain non stop that feels like there air in the skull or finger pushing, any ideas? Had cat scans months back and no issues. Also had Trigeminal Neuoralgia but got cranial facial release and that went away. Thank you
Do you feel like something wrapped around your head or pushed into your head? I still get both a lot, and headache is one of the most common symptoms of anxiety.
@@morlyholaw8185 hey yes it feels like a pushing or micro pinch were the zaps used to be having this feeling 2 weeks after zaps which themselves lasted 2 weeks thanks @Morly H
@@bsd613bh as long as you got everything ruled out, you got tests done, there's nothing to worry about. Anxiety can create every bizarre physical feelings that you can think about.
Got a teeth pulled? Or a surgery for something lately?
I feel the same electric shocks in my brain
But i get these when i move..
And it almost feels like this comes from heart or may be a sudden bp drop...
I feel that my heart is not working good..😢
Tell me it's just brain zap because it doesn't feels like that
This is called ectopic heart beat when we anxious and depressed we feel our heart skip a beat
I'm In bed now. Do you just struggle through to sleep
I got a body zap in my stomach today!
I used to get those too.
This seems very unhelpful and inaccurate.
What about it is unhelpful?
