@@wazimakram9302By 1988, he was considered a good player. In December 1988 , he bowled one particular ball to Viv Richards. He bowled a bouncer to Viv in Hobart. The ball was 155 kmph . Thanks for asking the question Wasims peak.
The 88-89 season was definitely the one where he was consistently the fastest he had bowled. That peak stretched all the way upto the 1992-93 england test series and Australia tour.
I want to say 1997-99 as the years he had become an absolute grandmaster. And after that the Sri Lanka and West Indies test series in 2000 where had become a one man army. WASIM what a bowler, what a cricketer, what a man!

I was really surprised to hear Wasim say (around 35:00) that he didn't properly work on learning new ball bowling or outswing until 93-94. Which is indirectly saying that when he won the 92 World Cup or the England Test series soon after - by which point to everyone in the world he was already the full package, and then some - in his own mind he was still mainly an old ball bowler. That is insane to think about! Man has levels mortals can only dream of.

Can we ever have a detailed interview about the 1999 final? That was and probably is the biggest heartbreak of our generation's childhood. Now that the sadness and the wounds have healed a bit, and the hair have started to grey a bit, can we have a light, gentle, fun oriented interview about that match to have better insights and lessons as a nation, and perhaps to heal a bit more?

Two years before the WC (2001 + 2002) Waqar was the highest wicket taker in the WORLD in ODIs.
Astonishing 93 wickets in just 57 matches, including 3 five wicket hauls. At an average of 24.3

While wasim sahib was 36 in 2003 though he was performing well. Actually can wasim tell why did he not include Waqar in playing 11 in 1999 WC. While he preffered new commers Razzaq n Azhar mehmood ? Can you imagine that. ? At least no comparison between Azhar mehmood and Waqar.
