- I sweeo a Magic the Gathering Online Legacy league collecting the undefeated 5-0 trophy with Bant Up The Beanstalk, a deck from Patreon subscriber Spunky. This list takes the newest 4 and 5-color beanstalk technology, using domain lands and Leyline Binding, but distills it down to a less-greedy splash in what's just 3 cards away from being a pure Bant 75. Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath, Swords to Plowshares, Force of Will, Terminus... this is honest old school Bant control with a light modern twist!

I still remember playing a game that was deciding if I would go to top8 and conceded after calculating that I would not kill my opponent for 1 life to then after the game was over realizing that I had an extra mentor trigger that I didn't take into account. Had I simply gone to combat and mapped it well, I would have won...

I think that the reason why lands is everywhere is that its a deck which can play Saga, Wasteland, and Loam, all 3 of which are incredibly well positioned at the moment against the majority of the meta (aside from specifically BUGBeans)
Just wanted to say that I love your channel, specifically your commentary.
the only eternal formats I play are historic and timeless, so I have exactly zero experience in modern, legacy, or vintage. but I feel like I can follow the game very well and I have learned a little bit about the unique challenges that these formats bring to both building and piloting decks from your videos and it makes me wish I had the cash to spend on some of these really cool decks that I get to watch you play with and against.
also love when you call yourself out after getting stomped by a deck you helped pioneer or popularize. your content is top notch and I think you deserve WAY more subscribers than you have.

Round 1 was beautiful and clutch
Round 2 was a clinic in how to control the current menace
Round 3 was very interesting in how you managed to outlast sultai beans until they drew out. The ability of bant to just persist is impressive.

holy shit that you had the mental endurance to not only not scoop game 1 but win it is insane. they were playing 2 ursa's sagas a turn for like 7 turns, and endless massive creatures, and you fought through that with no sideboard. INCREDIBLE stuff
r4g2 could have drawn the surgical with a pitch-cast solitude at 1:17:48. Coslty, but likely worth it.
Or just leyline sphere and then surgical to avoid the solitude pitch
"Green draw engines" is such a weird reality to have to accept. We definitely live in strange traffic times

Round 1 game 1. Showing em who's the boss. Honestly this is why I always playing mana denial when I'm on loam pox. Opponent had that in a bag and they decided to get cute.

I really really really enjoy your content. Haven't played the game for ages, but eternals are easy enough to keep up to date on and your commentary really makes me feel involved and invested. I also love these "serious" blue decks you bust out over and over again
In r4g2 you had a line to sanctuary surgical, leyline their sphere, draw surgical, surgical their loams.

I like this build of beans control a lot more than the typical 4-5c ones. I feel like bant* and sultai are the two ways to go with beans because it makes the mana a lot more stable/consistent, which is everything that those styles of decks want. I wonder how bant* beans would look in paper with access to triumph of saint Catherine, and how it'd stack up with sultai beans in paper. cause on mtgo I think sultai is mostly just better, but I don't have enough experience with triumph in legacy to know whether or not that card would change that at all
Kind of surprised in that BUG Beans round 2 game 2 at 00:58:50 that you opted to take a hit from the Murktide, rather than Sanctuary the Plow to the top to immediately draw it off of Uro. The Plow line is what you talked about before taking the turn, and to me it didn't seem like casting Forth Eorlingas was all that important to do on that turn.
The first games of both round 1 and round 3 are why I love playing control decks. This is easily my favorite video that's appeared on the channel in some time.

Game one is a show case for Legacy being hands down the best format.
I'd argue that round 3 game 1 is highly underappreciated in these comments and is equally a strong show case for legacy. One of the strongest formats in existence coming down to a deck milling itself out before it could win... by one turn.
@@markcargill1304 To be fair, milling is a very common win in Beans mirrors. Thats why older lists played one Endurance maindeck. To shuffle their own yard into the lib.

I'm so glad 4c is on the menu. This is my preferred legacy deck. I think many of these came down to tight play though. I wouldn't have trophied.

Just finished game 1 and, Brian, you have taken some number of rabbits out of the hat recently.
Weird line at 1:18:00 that I don't know is even good, but what about evoking solitude to trigger beans to draw the surgical off the top of the deck after putting it there with mystic sanctuary?
I run something similar, not drawing beanstalk early is usually a game loss 😢 hence i changed to one ring.

I counted 9 Sagas, 6 of them getting through to chapter 3 and making 10 constructs. Surviving that would feel insane.

I really love this deck, so I was considering getting it but replacing the ture-dual lands with shocks. How much would it hurt the deck to use shocks instead?
There are some matchups (like Doomsday) where you won’t notice a difference and some (like Delver) where it will cost you games. Doesn’t hurt to try it and see how you feel with it.

@@BoshNRoll I realized it'd be far easier to get away with competitive viability when the deck already plays very few Dual lands, such as your new Nulldrifter Dreadnought deck.
I also love the Dreadnought tempo strategy, so I think I may go with that!
