@@Edgepotts01 ..do you mind elaborating? I was thinking it was Matt and Rivers that weren't on good terms, but I'm not sure why I remember it that way.
I wonder how different Weezer would be if the original lineup never changed? Matt Sharp never left and Brian never joined. Come to think of it Jason kinda looks like Scott.
The Blue Album would've been different, basically Rivers wanted the album to have Beach Boys-style harmonies, so Rivers would sing the lead, Jason would sing the harmony counterpoint and Matt would sing an octave up from Rivers to complete the harmony, but since Jason left and his vocals were taken off the album, what remained was the vocal harmony between only Matt and Rivers. No One Else would've sounded a lot more like it did in this video than it did on the album for example
Jason's band after Weezer was Chopper One. His wife played Bass and did backing vocals. You can find some of their songs on RUclips. They had a good album, too. Check out their songs "I Like You", "Mr. Waldon", and "Cherry Crush" for a quick impression.
These are amazing. I think Matt Sharp (original bassist) had a good bit to do with the sound of their first two records. There’s an earnestness to those two records that’s magical. Rivers is clearly the main force behind the whole thing, a genius in his way, but Blue Album and Pinkerton are next level. Pop songs that simultaneously exude a youthful honesty and raw-ness in their performances. Matt will never be on stage with them cuz he sued the band!! Oh music. Bands. Hahaha. If you can manage your band having any success at all (let alone decades of hits like Weezer) you’ve really done something ;)
I’m not sure this is totally true, that Matt won’t share the stage again with them because of the suits. Rivers joined him in a few of his and Weezer’s songs directly after the suits were settled. Now, maybe it won’t happen just because, but I don’t think there’s any bad blood. Rivers has admitted he was a mess in 2003 and how he’s changed. I think there’s a real chance for Weeze to be a thing on stage again, if only once.
Jason's girlfriend crashed their recording sessions in NYC while they were recording the Blue Album in 1993. Rivers tried to be patient but finally couldn't handle it because she was a HUGE DISTRACTION (Jason knocked her up, so his world is changing right as he's recording a major record label and he also had a mental breakdown). So, Rivers told Jason he had no choice but to kick him out of the band because Jason did not keep his personal life out of the studio.
Rivers looks so happy to be playing with an original member. So much more personal and close than how he looks playing with Brian bell. No offense to Brian, but you just can’t compare playing with a friend to playing with a guy who sent in an audition tape. No offense to audition tapes either...
In some of the vids for lackluster performances of this song people say they think the band hates this song.... but Rivers clearly loves this song, its obvious in this performance
Imagine if Weezer played No One Else or any other blue song with Rivers, Pat, Jason, and Matt just once.
Obi-Wan Kenobi Matt and Jason aren’t on great terms. I wish though
Would be epic
Where’d you hear that Matt and Jason weren’t on good terms?
@@Edgepotts01 ..do you mind elaborating? I was thinking it was Matt and Rivers that weren't on good terms, but I'm not sure why I remember it that way.
If Brian ever leaves Weezer for some reason, Jason should definitely get the call to take his place
i totally agree.. but I kinda get the impression that Jason did not want the rock star life. at leas that's my take.
The two playing together for the first time in a quarter century!
Dude these Rivers/Jason videos legit make me teary eyed
Rivers and Jason play together like they've been playing for decades. I hope they make a side project one day.
You can feel the energy in the crowd and in Rivers & Jason. My heart is bursting!

Matt Sharp ruled. I miss his jokes and beautiful falsetto.
time to break out the time machine
I'll always wonder...it kills me that we will never know
They probably would've just been a 90s band that would've been forgotten.

I got chills at the outro to Jonas - the crowd was so into it, I mean how could they NOT be!
Please record an album together. Please let him tour with Weezer. Something. This is beautiful.

Matt didn't even write any basslines bro
Why in the hell did Jason leave the band?! The chemistry he has with Rivers is something truly special.

@@mormonneuro-divergence9700 Plus he drank a lot
everything about this is so magical, Rivers and Jason are the ultimate duo. Hopefully Rivers brings him onstage again in the future.
Jason Cropper
Guitarrista estadounidense, de la banda Weezer
Cumple 53 años (nació en 1971)
Those harmonies sound fantastic.

Is Rivers a Japanese fashion pirate? What on earth is the man wearing?
Love your concert write ups, it's like we're there with you. Thanks for taking & sharing these great vids!!
Proves that a great band can be just as effective at rocking out an acoustic set as they could an electric set.
I don't know how to describe it... Jason is just more Blue than Brian.
Brian may be more Pink, though.
Jasons picking on the guitar.... goddamn
Have you ever seen Rivers this excited?
Rivers has a fantastic Nostalgia Critic cosplay...
Jason Cropper is the one!!!! Wish he could turn back to Weezer!!!!!
That title makes me laugh, Rivers has stolen the name Jonas for private use.
In some of the vids for lackluster performances of this song people say they think the band hates this song.... but Rivers clearly loves this song, its obvious in this performance
how did I miss all this.... wow 🚀🤓💥
i wish i was there
That was magic.
did Jason really come up with the main riff of this song? I don't remember him being credited anywhere in the album
yes sir, they kept the original riff of jason playing on the album
Joe Dorer I thought Rivers re-recorded all of the guitar on the album after jason left?
I believed he was credit on My Name Is Jonas and In The Garage/TWHTALMH.
i think he came up with all the acoustic guitar bits on the album
@@Edgepotts01 except the verse intros to MNIJonas.
This is amazing!
I feel like modern Weezer would be so much better if the lineup never changed
does anyone know why jason left the band so soon? didnt even make it through the first album :(
commandline09 he got a girl pregnant and his stress was always evident while recording with the band.
He's very problematic back then, so they have to kick him out. He's a changed man now
Cropper?
Yes!! The original guitarist of the band.
@Joe Bryant maybe more like stu sutcliffe
Algum BR?
What does Jason do nowadays?
He looks more punk rock!
