Back in 1998, my girlfriend said this was my theme song. I loved Weezer, I was 17 and lived in my parent's garage, playing guitar all the time. And I've always been a sarcastic recluse, kinda like Rivers.
Harlan Thater also Rivers kicked him while out while recording the Blue Album because he didn’t like Jason’s recordings and decided to re record all of his parts himself.
Wow..... Jason sounds awesome & natural with Rivers on these two songs. Not to mention the fun & charisma they both brought. Very organic...great moment captured for the books. No agenda, just two guys killing it. undeniable good vibes.
Greatest singalong band of our generation. Very few bands have fans that sing along with every word, with the same or more passion and soul than the lead singer. Awesome moment- Jason enjoyed himself
That has to be a great feeling for a musician- to have people at your shows singing along with every word- not just with the big hits but with the deeper tracks that were never released as singles.
During that tour when rivers didn’t want to play the guitar they should’ve just had jason come out and play guitar instead of having pat play and some other guy play drums.
yeah that was weird. maybe pat did want to just really play guitar and pushed for it? also during memories tour it would have been cool if they gave Jason a spot to at least appear during the encore during the songs he actually appeared on so he got a taste of the big stage. oh well. Jason is still awesome!
This has more Weezer vibes than any of the Full band shows in the last 15 years. Very nostalgic indeed, just so heartwarming :) The chemistry between then is amazing both personally as musically, their voice blend so well! They should write and record a new acoustic album together ❤❤❤❤
If you guys like Jason Cropper, you should check out his band with his wife called Chopper One. They had a really catch song in the 90's called Touch my Fuzz.

When you're a Harvard graduate and have been a rock star since the mid 90's, I guess that's what you get. Lol. Like you said...it's okay, because....He's Rivers.
@@JohnnyGuitarRocks It's really reflected in his music though, so it can't really be an act. Moreover, he has always been acting like this. He's pretty clearly a very awkward and anxious guy.

The Blue is not only the best Weezer but one of the absolutely best of the 90’s. Words can’t really give justice to or explain how magnificent it really is and was when this record dropped. Let’s just say there is No one Nobody boppin around right now in 2020, that is doing anything remotely this good. And that includes current Weezer. We’re in a different time now when people are stripping our culture away and all the things that make us all as a collective band together and create soul soothing, fundamentally amazing music that can elevate us to limitless potential. What is your thought. Like for instance do you remember the last clothing trend that took the country by storm? And wasn’t just copied or bitten style from decades past! Our love and grasp on culture has been slowly beaten down, until eventually everything is CANCELLED and we have no funny movies no good music. And whoopsie Daisy, We have none left. Cause we’re way better thann this.

During the recording of Weezer (aka The Blue Album) in 1993, Cropper left the band and was then replaced by guitarist Brian Bell. Cropper signed a non-disclosure agreement, and has never publicly spoken about his reasons for leaving the band. Despite having recorded guitar and backing vocals for all songs on Weezer, his tracks were said to have been replaced by the band's vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Rivers Cuomo, with the occasional backing vocal replaced by Bell. The song "Jamie", featured on the 1994 DGC Rarities, Vol. 1 compilation, was recorded in 1993 and features Cropper on guitar and backing vocals. Prior to the expanded deluxe edition of The Blue Album in 2004, this was the only Weezer track released to feature Cropper on guitar and backing vocals. Cropper has remained good friends with the other members of Weezer and attended Rivers Cuomo's wedding in 2006. I had a revelation watching this: Jason Cropper brought the folkiness to the Blue album
god damn right he did. the album wouldn't have sounded the same without him
4:55 "I've got electric guitar"

*Jason loses it*
I thought he was laughing because the "stupid songs" part was coming up, but maybe you're right.
They sound so damn perfect on the harmonies. You can tell that they were meant to rock together

You can hear people doing Matt's falsetto during the chorus and it is amazing

He's singing all Brian's parts in this set.
Or rather, when Brian joined the band, he had to learn all Jason's parts.
actually i think he was at a pretty good volume, it's just that the crowd was all singing the main line so he got drowned out haha
Loved this song as a kid, never thought I’d end up living in the garage. Hits harder listening to this now coming up on my 21st
