1961 Ford Thunderbird Restoration Blog - Sebastian's T-Bird Project

The 1961 Ford Thunderbird came with a 390 cu in 6.4 L FE-series V8. It featured new and much sleeker styling than the second generation models. Sales were strong, 73,051 units were sold including 10,516 convertibles. The Super Coupe delivered high performance, with a 0 to 60 mph acceleration time of 7.0 seconds and a completion of a quarter-mile in 15.2 seconds at 88.1 mph.
