Huge admiration for Dennis. Interviewed me as Chief when I transferred up from London. Asked me how I’d cope with any jokes etc about Cockneys as he’d had as a Midlander. Also remember him doing a BA course with us and wanting a photo afterwards of us sitting together, all tired looking, mirroring an old B/w photo. A true gentleman and , dare I say, a Fireman’s Fireman

Got a lot of respect for Dennis. He was exactly what he said he was; approachable. He also gave me, personally, support in my promotion and career development.
