- Poison has come a long way since its gen 1 days. Slowly getting buffed and is now ready to take over the game. With 4 brand new mega evolutions. Each has a unique skillset and I rank them from worst to best. Going over each of their new moves and abilities. in Pokémon Emerald Elite Redux (1.6)

As for how they work in practice:
For most of them, they’re problems can be summed up in one word:
Outclassed
Especially in poison megas they have VERY strict competition. Mainly, the nido’s have to compete for an offensive poison mega slot with beedrill, while Swalot has to compete with Venusaur as a defensive poison mega.
The only exception is crobat, since it’s nearly as fast an establishes a special attacking threat to separate itself through amplifier spectralize boombursts boosted by nasty plot
Crobat is my favorite pokemon, and seeing it get so much love in the rom hack makes me so happy.
Like, I love that for both the mega and the normal version, crobat keeps its versatility from its base game form.
I did a Guzma team run and Ariados is so good, sets up webs on switch and has guaranteed Sniper boosted crits for slowed targets. Add Fell stinger into the mix and the damage output is insane!
When i knew crobat had a mega i started to play this hackrom
Then i found out you get the mega after the 7th badge
I love this mega, it helped me to defeat the Dewleon

they COOKED with mega crobat ngl, from it's design and overall how good it is in battles
makes me happy because crobat's one of my favorite pokemon

Rlly funny how Mega Nidoking is outclassed by its base form, at least imo
Mega Nidoking should have kept Intoxicate as an innate rather than staying sexist. Intoxicate + Mighty Horn Horn Drill would have been _the_ go-to STAB option. Poison Jab is only 104 bp after the Sheer Force boost, which gets boosted to around 135 bp with Mighty Horn. Intoxicate Horn Drill already hits 132 bp, which then is boosted to 171 bp after Mighty Horn.
And speaking of Sheer Force, it and Mighty Horn don't really synergize together all that well. Apart from the aforementioned Poison Jab, they have no overlap in the moves they boost. They could have honestly ditched Sheer Force for a different ability like Tough Claws or Hyper-Aggressive, since Mega Nidoking is a lot more physically leaning than regular Nidoking.

Crobat was always a favorite of mine too. this Mega Crobat is so sick.
I remember getting stuck facing Red in Hear gold, so I just got a zoobat and got it all the way to a lvl 100 crobat so I could sweep him with the 1 mon 😅 Crobat is an unrecognized 🐐

Funny that you pointed that SwalotM looks like peter griffin, back to the topic,I use mega swalot on my playthrough and it solos the entire elite four in elite mode,God damn he's broken
In the topic of monotype runs, as someone who has been doing lots of Monotype runs on Elite Redux myself, I'd say to maybe do a series where you go through what you'd consider to be the best Monotype team for each type

If you don't mind me giving you feedback, you should add some black outlines to the stats numbers. I was having some trouble reading crobatM speed stat because of how bright it was along with the background.

Man these Nidoqueen buffs make me remember dooz's ROM hacks' Nidoqueen, only difference is Dooz made her a pseudo legendary and made her absurdly good.
Pokemon really fumbled with her, trying to make her the defensive counterpart of Nidoking, but got too scared to give her good defensive stats and abilities.
Abilities is where GF really fucked up, Rivalry and Sheer Force are straight up shit for a "defensive" pokemon that has, like, 20 points difference in offenses and defenses. Poison Point is just mid.
Queenly Majesty is right there to make Nidoqueen a VGC terror. Armor Tail brought up Farigiraf from below the PU usage cut-off in Singles - less than even the likes of Bastiodon and Hisuian Electrode - to one of the top 10 mons in VGC, so Nidoqueen would cook with an equivalent ability.
Nidoqueen also getting any form of reliable recovery at all would also greatly increase its defensive capabilities, allowing itself to really standout from Nidoking apart from being its slower, less hard hitting counterpart. But Game Freak _really_ hates giving defensive mons access to recovery, for some reason.
@@christiancinnabars1402 true, also what Nidoqueen needs in recovery is Shore Up. doesn't make much sense genetically, but due to its typing, fits more than Recover and Slack Off. Soft-Boiled and Milk Drink are just weird picks.
Ngl, I think Mega Nidoking felt kinda like a let down. If there was an all double battle mode in the game maybe then I would have liked its new ability and thus gimmick some more. But I have been loving the queen tho. Blocking priority is such a neat ability.

Just Google Pokemon emerald redux rom and you'll be sent to the elite-redux(and add the thing that goes on the end of sites, obv cant post in a yt comment). It'll ask you to upload a rom, go on Google and dl a Pokemon emerald rom off of any website, preferably the first link when you Google "dl pokemon emerald rom", it'll usually be in a ZIP. Just upload the zip on that elite-redux site and patch it with the elite redux patch that should be auto selected and it'll spit out a GBA file. Then use your preferred emulator (if you know nothing about that, Google gba emulator or get retroarch and lookup a guide). It's like 3 steps. Get emerald rom, patch it using their site, open in GBA emulator. Have fun. 😅

I tried to put in detailed instructions on how to do it step by step, but RUclips autocensors basically anything and everything. Anyways, yeah. Google emerald elite redux, go on elite-redux site, dl a Pokemon emerald rom, upload on elite-redux and it'll have the elite redux patch auto selected. It'll spit out the game file that you can open in any GBA emulator

For Nidoking I prefer base with Poison Gem+Intoxicate Giga impact

all Pokémon have all abilities. you can change them around. These are for the mega form though

It's going to take a while, but you can see some of the changes planned in the online dex by going into the settings and changing the version from 1.6.1 to 1.7 Alpha

Primal Cascoon would win. It has immunity to non-damaging moves.
